Of course it's swanky.
Anyway~ This is a place where I'll answer all of your questions, and maybe give a few lessons on, the infamous RPG Dungeons and Dragons.
Beware, there will be a LOT of nerdtalk in this thread.
My personal area of expertise is 3.5 edition (which is also the one I recommend), but I know some about both earlier editions and 4.0.

@Storm: Yea, it sucks. Wish I had a group. I tried playing with the guys who played first, but they basically kicked me out because I was a girl, and didn't even give me the respect of telling me to my face.
