These are the SET ranks for the Peponi-pya. Special ranks are always considered and allowed per the orders of the Guardians. If enough need is generated, a new rank may always become permanent.
Guardian
Always 4 in number, the Guardians are responsible for the well being of the entire pride, coordinating with the Chief Healer and Captain to ensure the pride is well taken care of, and that any seeking safety in the pride are also looked after. It takes a great deal of stability to take this position, as well as intelligence, as the Guardians are the wisest in the pride.
Chief Healer
Leads the healers of the Peponi-pya. They know the most of herbs, treating wounds, childbirth, ETC, and may be male or female. Not always popular, but always the most knowledgeable Healer/s. Sometimes have no bedside manner.
Captain
The leader of the Guards, and the creature who makes sure every apprentice Guard is paired with an appropriate senior Guard to tutor them. They're often the first face a new member or someone seeking safety sees, aside from the Guard who finds them.
Diplomat
Diplomats are the members of the pride whom approach other prides and rogue groups to find refugees homes, and to offer alliances. Diplomats may or may not be escorted by another pride member, although usually it is ensured that they can protect themselves. Diplomats respond to the Guardians, and no one else.
Guard
Responsible for protecting pridal lands and keeping an eye out for new members and refugees. Guards won't attack on sight, but considering they sometimes house abuse victims seeking safety or refugees fleeing tyrants, they are wary of new faces. Just in case.
Healer
They tend to the sick and injured, both pride member and those staying temporarily. They ensure the pride's health and well being. There's usually a healer assigned to each guard shift as well.
Hunter
The default rank for pride members. Hunters bring in food and if they find them, lost or orphaned cubs, or refugees. Hunters ensure everyone has enough to eat and stockpile as needed.
Crafter
Artists of the pride. They make a multitude of things for members-- jewelry, decorations, ETC.
Nanny
Tend to cubs when parents cannot. Responsible for cub protection and generally keeping them from getting lost or hurt.
Youth
The default rank for any young in the pride. :>
