I had a couple of questions about fish.
I have two cats would the fish be safe?
Are fish theraputic like everyone says?
Are fish easy to care for?
Would they really be worth buying?

Well, I have 3 cats and fishes, they were interested at first, but then they got used to them, as long as you keep them in a safe place, where the cats wont be able to reach. then the fish should be safe. its like when i first got my hamster and gerbils, the cats went crazy, trying to jump up and get them, but then they gave up lol.
I dont know about fish being theraputic but they are very calming to watch, and when your bored, you can just sit and watch them. its nice.
Fish can be pretty easy to care for yes, it just takes some time to know about them and how to care for them. but thats the same as any animal.
Yes, fish are lovely, they are worth buying, it will certainly brighten up your home, it did to me xD Good luck!

fish are awesome, but u gotta take really good care of them or they won't live long 3nodding some little gold fish live up to 1yr

kami_panda fish are awesome, but u gotta take really good care of them or they won't live long 3nodding some little gold fish live up to 1yr any gold fish that lives under a year was probably due to bad husbandry goldfish can live into the decades, some can live well in their 40's bettas should live from 3-7 years and are one of the easier fish to care for i would not say fish are easy to care for, i would take my reptiles any day over a fish. i do keep bettas though and i breed guppies as food for some of my herps remember, fish are smart and should have things to do like have toys, things to swim through, things like that. i teach my bettas tricks and feed them live food sometimes to keep them occupied remember to give your fish a tank thats large enough for them and make sure you research what temps to keep them at i would suggest a betta as a first fish, they need to be housed with no other bettas though, even the females will fight to the death. if you decide on a betta i suggest at least a 2gal tank. 1gal is the min. you should keep them in but it seems way too small to me. ive even met one woman who will keep hers in nothing below a 90gal. they like alot of room unlike what pet stores would have you believe

Scorpiomarie Awwz, I'm sorry too for your fish, are you ok? *hugs* Yeah, I'm fine. The guys in the family did not really seem to fazed by the evening. But, of course, I was the one who took care of him.

I'm sorry to hear about your fish.
Thank you everyone who replied back i never knew you could keep fish that long or that you could teach them ticks. We used to own fish but i was really little so I don't remeber them.....

We used to own fish but i was really little so I don't remeber them..... yes, fish are quite smart for the most part, though every once in a while you will find that stupid one who is amused just by swiming in circles lol. but they really do seem to enjoy learning tricks, it gives them something to do. saltwater fish can be even more human friendly but they are hard to care for. but some fish even enjoy being pet. ive had some bettas who will come right up and rub on my finger

I want fishy DX I'm jealous of u people having pets XD
but i can't have pets for my own reasons
1. kami is super busy @____@
2. me lil bro just grabs pencils and toothpicks and they end up dead
3. if my lil bro dun poke em fishy he overfeeds the fishy and they end up eating all of it and then they die
4. sometimes lil bro give em to little food
5. the fishy i buy can't even live up to a day sometimes >.> [ya lil bro]
6. my lil sis throws them into the sink scream
7. my lil sis usually sneaks out and give them alot of fish food >.> and the fish tank gets dirty
yesh l0l I actually take care of pets but my lil bro just messes my job up when i'm at school he feeds the fish >..< so ya
