Greloren continued to drag the poor naked child down the street, trying to recall just where that shop had been. It'd been on his way to work... crap. It had been easier to find it in the light with the door open. But now the sun had set and it was getting dark. And the man was apparently oblivious to the fact that the kid he was tugging behind him was naked, covered in strange bumps, and using a blanket as a sort of short ghost costume or something.

"Ah!" The half-elf spotted the sign and quickened his pace, nearly pulling the boy off his feet. The kid was shivering, but that didn't seem to register with his new guardian.

Greloren reached out to open the door, just hoping beyond all hope that the shop wasn't closed.

Switch yawned, putting her cleaning supplies away for the night. It was late, and it was time for her to go home! The register was locked and the lights were getting shut off. There was a moments consideration to see if that curly haired boy was still in there but...Switch really didn't care about that. If the kid was stupid enough to get locked in a Curiosities shop, he deserved to stay there!

She was humming to herself as she reached out for the front door, pulling on it to open it just enough to let herself out. But what she saw, instead of an empty street, was a shadowy figure reaching out to her.

Switch let out a scream.

Greloren jumped at the sudden sound, which was echoed behind him by the child. The man let out a sigh of relief. She was still here! His face blushed slightly as he recalled what had happened last time, but pushed it aside. "Er... yes... that thing I got earlier...."

The man lifted the kid up by the arm, which earned him a yelp of pain from the boy. "It's a kid. I don't want a kid." He extended his arm towards Switch, kid still dangling rather nakedly in the air. The blanket fell off his head and the kid yelped again at seeing a face so close to his. With his free hand, he covered his eyes and wiggled about, trying to get free.

Switch calmed herself down, holding her chest in an attempt to get it to calm down faster. Her gaze moved down to the little black thing that the man was holding. It had...yelped? Her eyes focused and she saw a little boy being held by his arm. A rather naked little boy, with bumps on his skin and and terrified look on his face. He looked hurt. And Cold. And Scared.

Gasping in shock, Switch's green eyes narrowed rather dangerously and her hand shot out, slapping the Guardian hard across the face. Then, dropping the keys that she was holding in her other hand, she reached out to put both of her hands under the cold boy's arms, hoisting him up and holding him against her for warmth.

"How dare you!" She growled at him, her free hand grabbing him by whatever clothing she could to pull him into the store with her. "You're an a*****e! He's just a child!" She hissed at him, kicking the door shut behind her once they were inside the warm shop, turning on the lights.

... What the hell? Greloren blinked as she slapped him across the face. Ow. That hurt. He reached up to rub the spot, not caring what the heck was going on with the bumpy kid. A tug at his shirt and he was hauled inside, still rubbing his face. "What's your problem, lady? I didn't want a freaking kid. You have a kid already, so you can keep him."

The kid, meanwhile, was happy to see that this new person was much nicer than the loud grey thing and the arm-pulling man. And they were now inside and it was much better here than outside!

Greloren nodded to Switch and headed for the door. That solved that!

"I said there were no returns. You ******** a*****e." Switch informed him with a nasty growl, reaching out to grab his shirt again to keep him from leaving. "Hah, you think because I have a kid that I want another one? You've got another think coming." She kept the boy huddled to her for warmth; she would go find him some extra clothes, but she didn't want the Guardian to leave.

"Did you know that you were drawn to that item for a reason? That the...uh...toy had a will to live? That it wanted to be a part of your life?" Switch told him what she couldn't tell him when he first picked up the vibrating ring. "This boy chose you. And this is how you treat him? You drag him across town while he's NAKED, then lift him up by one arm? Do you know how much that hurts? Do you know how sick he could get?!" She was fighting to keep her voice at a reasonable level, but it was clear this man had fallen far from her good books. "How DARE you treat a child like that! You are not a man." She snarled at him.

Greloren frowned as his retreat was cut short. "Hell, woman. I don't want a kid!" He managed to get in during her long rant. He grunted. "I'd rather it have stayed the toy!" Er... wait, that might have come out wrong... "Why would some pipsqueak want to be part of my life? My life sucks."

The man glanced to the boy for a moment then shrugged. "Eh, it'll toughen him up. He'll be stronger." His hair chirped in what seemed to be agreement. Or maybe it was disagreeing. Eh, who knew?

The kid whimpered and hid his face from his supposed guardian. This woman was nice! Arm-pulling man was not! Didn't take a genius to figure out which the kid liked better.

"I didn't want Kay either, and I still got him. I still had the decency to care for him. And my name is not `woman`, its Switch." She growled at him again, using his opportunity to get between him and the door...even if it only was to get the chance to slap him again. Which she put into play after he tried reasoning with his actions.

"Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, this boy could change the way you view life? That maybe he chose you for a reason?" Her voice had dropped then, from its harsh tone to a much softer, almost pleading tone. "Kay drives me crazy, but I would miss him if he weren't around." There was a sigh as she leaned back against the door frame. "But, I guess thats not going to change the mind of an a*****e like you." The blue haired woman sounded so very disappointed, but she didn`t leave her post from against the door.

Greloren glared at the woman as she slapped him again. "Fine then, Switch." He forced the name, making it sound almost like an insult. "How is some little snot-nosed kid going to change my view on life? Plus, I don't know the first thing about kids. Other than they cry, poop, smell, and are needy."

He crossed his arms as it seemed he was not going to get to leave anytime soon. "Does the thing even talk?"

The "thing" didn't seem to realize that he was the topic of conversation. Or, well, not fully grasping that, anyways. But he was getting feeling back in his toes!

"Ohgod, are you afraid of learning, too?" Her green eyes widened and her fingertips came up to press against her lips; she was mocking him now. "Or are you afraid to find out I'm right, that this little boy will make your life brighter?" Her hand dropped from her mouth to rest on her hip, staring up at the elf man.

"'Does the thing talk'" Switch parroted, rolling her eyes as if he had said something incredibly stupid. "He is a toddler. He might know how to talk, but he might need you to teach him how to." Shaking her head, her hand moved from her hip to rub the boy's cold, occassionally bumpy back. "But did you try to talk to him even once, before you dragged him naked across town?" Her tone was challenging, and her gaze meant she wasn't going to put up with any bullshit he was going to throw at her.

"I would love to continue this where we are, but your son is still freezing cold, and he needs clothes." She pushed herself away from the door, pushing past him to go farther into the shop. "Oh, just so you know, if you abandon him now he'll probably die from the severed bond." She sang out. "And I would be more than happy to call Child Services on you for negligence." She hummed out happily, looking through a box that had some baggy clothes inside; they were dusty, but they could be beaten clean and...at least it would be something for the boy to wear.

Another glare. She was mocking him. He did not like this. Well, at least that wasn't for too long. But when she asked if he'd tried talking, the man paused and thought for a moment before shrugging. "Maybe?" He didn't really recall much other than shock.

Some chirping piped up. "Quill tried talking to him." Did that count? Wait... Clothes for the kid? Ugh, that would require money, wouldn't it? Greloren groaned as the woman took this kid that apparently now belonged to him.

The kid glanced at the box as Switch began to dig through it. A small grin appeared on his face as he reached out and touched some of the soft pieces of fabric. These were nice!

"Wait... do I have to name it too?" Greloren piped up.

"I doubt the boy can speak Dragon. You should try talking to him." Switch said, actually trying to be helpful this time. She then glanced at the dark skinned, bumpy boy who was touching some of the fabrics.

"These feel neat eh little one? If theres something you like just let me know, okay?" She coo'd out to the little boy, lightly putting him down to he could look in the box on his own. Prior to aquiring Kay, Switch hated kids and wouldn't have been this nice around them; they were uncontrollable variables and couldn't be trusted. They still scared the beejesus out of her, but at least it was easier now.

When he asked if he had to name it, Switch grabbed the first thing she could find and threw it at him. Lucky for him she wasn`t truely aiming for him, and it was just an ugly pair of furry dice that somehow ended up in the clothes box. "You're impossible! He's not an "it", he's a "He", be more respectful, assface." She snapped, irritated. "What would you call him for the rest of his life? 'Hey you'?." Snorting, Switch turned back to the boy and the box. "Of course you have to name him. That`s what parents do. They name their children."

Greloren and Quill exchanged a glance. "You speak Dragon?" The half-elf finally asked, causing the little dragon to bop him upside the head with a wing. A hissing chirp made the man chuckle and reach up to soothe the little dragon.

The kid shuffled closer to the box and dug about, pulling up one item and then dropping it in favor of another. He found a pair of orange sweatpants and held them up, smiling and glancing at Switch.

"What's wrong with that?" Greloren asked, ducking instinctively as she threw something at him. "I could call him 'Kid'." Quill chirped and the man frowned. "Ryan? Why?" Another chirp. "Your dad was NOT named Ryan!" Quill chirped agreement and Greloren shook his head.

Switch grumbled to herself, then turned her attention to the boy and the pants he'd picked out of the box. She giggled at his choice, then reached out to take the pants from him. "These would look awesome on you, you should pick out a shirt, too!" While she urged him on, she stood up and shook the dust out of the pants as best as she could.

" 'Hey you' is not a name. If you think its good enough to name the boy, then you wouldn't mind if I called you 'Hey you' or 'Kid'. After all, what's wrong with that?" Switch hummed to herself, inspecting the pants for tears, just incase. She perked up at the mention of Ryan, her gaze turning towards the man and his dragon. "Ryan's a good name. I think its a great name, actually! You're awesome, Little Dragon." Grinning, she knelt down to the boy, putting the pants close to the floor while holding the waist band open for him.

"How does that sound, little one? Do you like the name 'Ryan'?" She asked the boy while helping him into his new but old sweatpants.

Greloren opened his mouth to say something, but got smacked upside the head again by Quill. The little dragon chirped happily and the man watched as this woman and his dragon buddy named this kid. Well, at least it wasn't something stupid, he supposed.

The boy dug about for a shirt, finally finding a dark green one with a puppy on it. He smiled and glanced back at the woman as she asked him something. He nodded and set the shirt he'd found down to step into the pants, grabbing Switch's arm to help keep his balance.

Greloren sighed. "So the kid's Ryan..." Quill cheeped happily. "Yeah, yeah. I'm sure you won't ever let me forget that you picked it out."
