.[The Ranks].
The pack follows the natural call of nature at the base of all they do. Their way of handling situations is much like that of a normal pack, and the only true formalities are their job system and their naming traditions. There are no sacrifices, no rituals (Aside from the Howl), no real laws, only a shared common knowledge and a sort of unspoken law and an unspoken code of honor that they all acknowledge.
When it comes to tasks and ranking within the pack it's breakdown is roughly the same. There's an alpha, and that alpha usually has a beta (Usually either a close friend or their mate), the gammas, and the youth. There are no Omegas in the Peke Na, however, no outcasts. All are treated as equals with respect. No one job is more important than the other, and even the Chief, though looked to for leadership and discipline as necessary, is mortal just the same as everyone else. The final decision is the Chief's, but as an unspoken "rule" they must heed their elders and major pack-life altering decisions are often met by a Council, a gathering of all adult pack members. Children and adolescents are also allowed to attend but generally are there to be seen rather than heard. It is not unheard of for the pack to decide based on a comment or input from the youth of the pack. There is wisdom to be found in innocence as well at times.
The role of Chief is only ever held by one dog at a time. Though there may be an alpha pair only one of those two holds the power to make any final decisions. The Chief is responsible for the pack's well being and will at times solely shoulders the duty of scouting dangerous new developments and planning courses of action, though usually they conference with the other pack members or their elders. They bear the title "Blood of __ Chiefs" as a mark of the generations that have passed. Generations, also, are marked by the number of years a Chief leads rather than by pups born to the pack. The pack, then, though it has seen many, many litters, has currently only seen nine generations before it and is leading into it's tenth.
Aside from this, titles are actually very flexible. Those that hunt also guard and act as warriors when the time comes. The Chief hunts with the rest of the pack, as do the storytellers and the den makers. No one dog is ever locked into any one role unless they chose to be. There are many different ranks that one can hold, though for the sake of making life easier on the certists we'll have a set number available.
Tree Shaper - For dogs skilled in tending to plant life this task is for them. It is a very rare talent, and the pack is in need of it. The Tree shapers tasks range from creating traps for keeping intruders (Such as malicious humans or rival predators) out at the borders to den linings and ointments (nurturing grasses and bushes to grow) to creating protective dens for times when the pack venture out into the sun.
Healer - This skill is self explainatory. If a dog has a talent for healing others or working with medicinal herbs then this is the task for them. This also applies for those that show talent in midwifery.
Hunter - Another self explanatory title. This is the default rank assigned to anyone who does not have a talent or preference that lies elsewhere. The hunters are the guards and the warriors as well, they protect the pack with every bit of skill that they also use to hunt their prey.
Head Hunter - This is the only other title that holds any power aside from the Chief. They lead the hunt when the Chief is not present, though there may not always be a head hunter in cases where the Chief themselves attend each hunt. Usually this title is assigned to the Chief's second in command.
Tanner - The Peke Na survive their frigid nights with a little help. Because there are many of the pack that prefer to den in small groups the pack has adopted a tradition of collecting furs from their kills, but ONLY from their kills. The tanner is responsible for cleaning the pelts and preparing them for use in the dens. They also work with leathers if they can find it, however, this is a rare material for them to come by so there may usually only be one tanner that's skilled in working with it, a skill that's passed down to ensure it doesn't become a lost art.
Storyteller - These are the teachers, nannies, and tale weavers. Though the pack overall are all welcome to tell tales at the Howls there is almost always one with a particular talent for keeping and weaving the stories of the pack's past, and they're usually called upon to entertain the pack at the monthly howl or to keep the children busy during the hunts.
Den digger - The den diggers are responsible for, of course, digging the dens. They may show a special proficiency for the task, and even serve the pack in other ways such as digging traps along with the Tree shapers, or storing food and tending to the underground spring.
Scout - The scouts serve more purpose than to simply look out for danger. They watch for prey and herds that may pass by the pack lands, as well as keeping a lookout for wandering pups or approaching rogues or humans. They have keen eyes and some are able to withstand the intense heat of the day (During which such scouting trips they inhabit the day-dens built by the tree shapers).
Finder - Also known as "Trackers", they excel in finding that or those which have been lost. They sometimes also help the hunters and scouts in following prey, predator, and rival movement. There usually aren't many, if any, finders in the group.

.[Getting approved].
Joining for the Peke Na is, barring some type of plot event, always open! Wolfnames are not required for rogues who join the pack, but all pups born into the pack must have a proper wolf name (See this post for information about wolf names.) before they will be allowed to breed as adolescents or adults. Once your wild dog has joined the pack they should immediately begin to intergrate by using Wolf names to address other members and themselves. As a request, please use Wolfnames in RP titles as well.
The pack is a friendly one over all, but (and this is important) keep in mind that the pack lives by instinct. They are extremely close knit and comeradery among the pack is common. They can be fierce to outsiders if they come bearing threat. Any original member or pup born to the pack would be taught pack values from birth, but by example, by the way the pack members live and go about every day life. They don't have lessons, specifically, but lessons are taught through storytelling and by doing. If an adult happens to see a pup that expressing an interest in learning to hunt, for example, may be randomly taken on a lesson in hunting by that adult. The adults are generally pretty loose about their children's activities as long as it's well within the packlands under the supervising adult's watch. There are adults throughout the entire pack that will send (or escort if need be) a pup right back to the watchers when/if they see them wandering too far out.
As far as behavior goes: The dogs of the Peke Na are known to rough house, bite, fight, mate, and behave as their instinct tells them to (Keeping in mind that Wisdomchaser and Risktaker are basically their alphas.). They aren't particularly religious except in regards to "Timmain", whom they revere as their pack matriarch.
Visiting rogues are to be on their best behavior and absolutely must be taken before the chief before being allowed to stay or roam. The pack is, though accepting, wary of outsiders intentions. Anyone found to be allowing rogues into the land without bringing them directly to Wisdomchaser will be reprimanded (She may not have her father's heavy paw, but she is still chief and will do what's neccessary to protect the pack.) before the pack as a whole. Being publically scolded (and consequently embarrassed or humiliated) is considered punishment enough in most cases, but this also serves the purpose of reminding the pack that caution within reason is a MUST for survival.
Rogue approval do not need to be RP'ed unless desired. It can be assumed that they were brought to Wisdomchaser and that she gave them verbal permission to stay among the pack as long as they have their escort with them at all times.
1. - Post the appropriate form and wait to be approved.
1a. - If you have a visiting rogue do not RP in this subforum/the packlands IC'ly until you have been approved. People who break this rule will be contacted and will be pelted with coconuts like in Mario Kart 64 have their rogues chased out by a very angry Wisdomchaser. UH OH. 1b. - Keep your drama!dogs out, please! Any visiting rogues found to be causing trouble will find themselves in big trouble. Please remember that animals' sense of hearing is better than humans. It's pretty much impossible for signs of distress NOT to be heard by someone in the area. 2. - Upon approval you can get a joining RP with another member.
3. - Once you have your joining RP you can post for your cert!
4. - Enjoy!

.[Sample Application].
To make things easier to follow we've done a sample application to use as your example! Please be sure to read it! Also, please note that this is a SAMPLE application and some information on it (Image, lifemate and description) is not for real, but simply for filling in the blanks.
I want to join! Teach me The Way!
STATUS: Joining rogue (Original member? Joining Rogue? Returning original member?) RANK: Tanner (Pick a rank from the list. Leadership roles are restricted, as is head hunter.)
Cert name: Ujuzi (The name of your wild dog before joining the pack, or in the case of original members this is the Swahili version of their name, hyphenated ("Hekima-mtafiti" - Wisdomchaser.) Wolf name: Swiftthinker (Notice that there is no space between "Swift" and "thinker". Also note that "thinker" is entirely lowercase as the second word.) Owner: Tahja Estes (This is you! biggrin ) Lifemate: Ardentheart, Risktaker (Multiple mates may be listed here. Do NOT list every pack member your wild dog has ever slept with though. Only actual lifemates.) Offspring: Dapplespot; Peacekeeper (You may choose to list either all offspring (SEPARATE LITTERS WITH A ";".) or only those that are part of the pack.)
Anything else we should know: She may be leaving to reform her old pack. (This is where you should put things that are important, like if your wild dog is blind, steril, if they are going to leave the pack in the near future, breed, are bringing children or friends in with them, etc.)
Description: Ujuzi is a cold hearted old witch. She eats rocks and likes to talk to trees and enjoys yelling at small children. She joined the Peke Na because she was looking for a place to raise her pups but stayed because her oldest daughter had already joined. Since then she's become a tanner for the pack and enjoys having picked up a new skill. (This should be at least three full sentences but no more than a paragraph. Please don't write a novel!)

Take me to your leader!
Owner: Kimaria Duration of visit: Planned for maybe about week IC time. Reason for visiting: Weak, alone and afraid, he'll stay for shelter and recuperation.
Anything else: I'm applying for him to be a visitor at the moment, but looking to maybe have him encouraged to stay on as a full member whilst he rests up. Hope that's okay!

I want to join! Teach me The Way! STATUS: Joining Rogue! RANK: Finder
Cert name: Imani Wolf name: Dreamer Owner: Dark Fire Angel Lifemate: ... N/A yet! Offspring: N/A
Anything else we should know: She's a seer :> She has a sister (owned by Thalion) with whom she should hopefully be joining.
Description: Generally laid back by nature, if not rather whimsical, Imani is a day dreamer for the most part. She does have a temper, which flares only when others think she's crazy or her friends and loved ones are threatened. Sadly, it's mostly all bark and little bite; she lacks the mentality to be mean and is often time in need of protection due to voicing things she probably should have kept silent.

Usually an extended stay might require joining, but since he does actually have family within the pack his extended stay will be allowed without any "consequences" (If you want to call joining a consequence. *LOL*)

I want to join! Teach me The Way! STATUS: Joining Rogue RANK: Tree Shaper
Cert name: Leini'chanua Wolf name: Petaldancer Owner: _ p a o cx Lifemate: -- Offspring: --
Anything else we should know: Nothing else~
Description: She has a childlike innocence about her that she isn't exactly aware of. She's bubbly, energetic, oftentimes clumsy, but is diligent with her work and always gives it her all. She can get to be bullheaded though, and sometimes goes on tantrums when things don't go her way. She loves her family and looks forward to someday being a mother and raising pups of her own, though she's been told she's still a far cry from playing the role of a mother since she's still much like a child herself.
