What comes to mind when I hear "The Game"? "Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World" comes to my mind, because it's my favorite video game that I can actually relate to a character.

GREAT! I loved it! Especially Emil because I could actually relate to someone else who had DID. But overall the gameplay is basically the same as the first, but this time it's mostly only two player because most of the game it's just Emil and Marta. Even when you find the other characters, their surprisingly weak... I loved the storyline, it continues what happened in the first one two years after the worlds become one again. I say you should get it!

I wouldn't say "control" monsters, but you can capture them and put them in your party. They become computer-controlled monsters that work just like having a computer ally in battle. (monsters cannot be controlled by players other than the "tactics" section of battle)

So it's similar to how other players are controled in the first one. Actualy no... you could choose to control people like Kratos...
Oh! like how monsters are in the Dragon Quest/Warrior games when you use 'em.

they are great games, if you like Final Fantasy you would like it. The first one was created When Square Enix were seperate companies. It was Enix's creation, and frankly I find it a lot more fun than Final Fantasy. Some of the games instead of having party members have you control monsters. You can choose settings like "Brave" which will make them fight phisicaly. There are different settings and then there is also one that lets you command them.
