umm yes. We played something by him last year, and I have a couple of his tunes. Pretty awesome, quite like them. What CD is it?

the cd is song for my father. Horace silver is pretty much striaght jazz with some latin and a little bit of elevator music feel to it id say.

WE just got an arrangement of Sister Sadie it's by the Woody Herman band and it's a second Tenor feature the whole song for that part is just one big solo! I'm jelouse of the second tenor player but oh well i get a shitload of solos anyway.

Sister Sadie... xd I played an arrangement of that with an alto/bass duet.

Also, a friend of mine plays amazing piano solos now ever since she started listening to Horace Silver. The girl has perfect pitch and is one of those prodigies, so she can copy his style almost exactly. crying

Hm..."I Remember Clifford" has got to be my favourite of his...and "Song For My Father" is catchy, as well.

The song I remeber with Silver the most is Doodlin' with Art Blakely and Kenny Dorham
