As per usual, Jua found himself with absolutely nothing to do, and that bored the young brawler. Though he had made a quite valid attempt to create poetry in the sand, using pictures, it had been... unfruitful. And rhyming didn't seem to be good for him at all. So, he had tried to pick some fights with his siblings, but as they were used to his 'antics' now, he was quite without merit when it came to them. He had tried to start a few fights, just for a brawl. But either everyone else was too big, or no one else would fall for it.
Maybe he just wasn't very good at making friends? Oh well, who needed friends anyway? What he needed were allies, clearly! People who would join him in battle, see the merits of fighting! Really want to stick their necks into adventure and war! After all, they were firekin, that was what they lived for, right?... Right?
"I can't believe this..." The young cub sighed, resigning himself for another day of squat-all. Maybe if he asked really nice and kept getting in her way, his mother would pay some attention to him?

"Come on!" Ka yelled and moved to the left, skidding in the sand. His paws dug into the dune beneath him as he dodged claws that were outstretched, poised for attack, although not fully extended, a few scratches were fine, they healed with no scars, but gashes, those were pains. He flicked his tail and rushed forward, careful of where he stepped and how his paws slid in the sand, the sun was on his back and fueled him with heat like a flame in his heart.
"RrrrAH!" Kai snarled as she outstretched her paws for him, wanting to grasp at his shoulder but she narrowly missed, flew forward and skid in the sand to a halt and then took off again, he was heading for her, but she'd get the upper hand. Her eyes were narrowed so that the sand being kicked up would not hit her eyes and make them sting, as he got closer, he lunged and she slid on her side in the sand, a slight heat to her fur as she did so, and she tried to grab his leg, knock him off balance, but missed.
Ka lunged and as he did he saw her arm and he lifted his leg in time though toppled into the sand though rolled himself onto his paws. His growing mane was hanging in front of his eyes as he stood without moving, breathing deep, crimson eyes watching his sister come to stand. Chest heaving, he had a smirk on his maw, they were twins, two sides of the same being, but they had different strengths, though she was too fast for his more powerful thrusts of his claws, so he couldn't catch her.
"You almost had me," Kai said almost panting trying to regain her breath. Her chest was heaving in deep breaths trying to calm her racing heart, she was tired, worn from the time they have been out here so far today, but she also didn't want to stop, she felt alive, just now, felt like she almost had him, had the other side of herself, to catch herself, that would be a feet indeed. "You're slow though" she added with a grin and watched him in case he moved once more, he was always quick to act.

Jua's attention was almost completely caught up the very second he heard the commotin. His head poped up over a sand dune as he watched the twin siblings duking it out. He began to bounce and shiver almost instantly. His whole body shook with anticipation as he watched them do their thing. He was jealous for a moment, but after that, all he wanted to do was join in.
"Fight... fight fight fight..." He whispered under his breath, trying to decide if he should edge forward or not. Should he follow, or should he stay? But they were both so... big and strong. He wanted to get in on the action! But would they shove him aside too?
...Well, after what he had seen... they were going to have to beat him down to make him miss out! "Hey!" He called, running down the sand dune at full speed, nearly tripping as his little legs took him as far as they could, as fast as they could. How could he really resist the temptation of two people who seemed to like a good brawl as much as he did? It was just too good to be true!
"Hey! Hey you guys!" He called, skidding up next to them, his crimson eyes practically glowing with anticipation, "Twins! You're twins!" An observation that didn't really matter, "Do you two know how to fight? Like really know how to fight?" He demanded, very intent for such a little thing. And a bit arrogant too really.

Ka gave a snarl and went to lunge at Kai when she was still, because it took a lot of strength to move yourself extremely quickly from a still position, but as he heard a voice, he stopped, only moving a foot forward, and he snarled under his breath, but thinking if over, he clouded the snarl in his throat, a visitor, he had to be on his best behavior though the want to defeat his sister was gnawing at his side. As he glanced upward, he saw the approach of a cub, small, quite small in comparison to both he and Kai, but dark as night with markings that looked like red lightning on his back, he had crimson eyes as well, like he and Kai had.
There were so many members in the Simo Ka really did wonder if new members were joining or children were being born when they were here, so many and so, what seemed to be, little time! Ka sat back on his haunches and gave a huff, letting his claws retreat back into his toes as he let himself cool down for round two, because he'd be damned if there wasn't going to be a round two.
"Well, well, look whats coming," he said in a whisper to Kai before the child got too close to hear.
"Hold your tongue Ka, or I'll rip it out next time," Kai cooed at him in a baby's voice and stuck her tongue out at him.
Her breathing had calmed since she had stopped, bad news for Ka, because her strength and will was being replenished during this little timeout, she really wished their was a water hole or pool close by though, her throat was as dry as the sand beneath them all, scratchy like the desert brush, brittle and sticking and prodding into your pelt.
She flicked her tail and watched as he approached, eager, saying the obvious, but Kai smiled, children were tiny things, and curious, quite curious, and this one was curious of fighting, a true firekin by blood. "I'd like to think so, my brother and I spar a lot, we work on specific styles and moves, so yes," Kai said with a nod, flicking her tail. "Whats your name?" she asked in equal curiosity, but she wondered, why was he out here all by himself to begin with?

"Jua'Mwiba." Jua said, sitting down and holding his back straight, wanting to make a good first impression. After all, he was probably going to be very direct. That wasn't hard for him. He was always pretty direct, "What's your names?" Didn't really matter, they'd have nicknames as soon as he could think of some suitable for the twins. Maybe Thing 1 and Thing 2, or something like that. He'd have to decide once he finally got around to it. Maybe... eh, he'd think of something. Something suitable.
"Are you two good fighters?" He asked them, though he already knew the answer. He had seen them go after each other, they had to be good. And he needed their help. Even if they would only let him watch, it would certainly be better than nothing, "Can you show me some moves? Teach me how to move and fight like that?" He asked, stepping closer and closer to them. His head tilted up the closer that he got, so that he could get a good look at their faces.
"Because... I wanna be a soldier and a warrior like you two. And you seem pretty strong to me. So I wanna see how you do it." He said... as an afterthought, the word, "Please?" came to mind, which he asked. Though he didn't really seem to mean it. He was far more interested in seeing how strong they were.

"Jua'mwiba, I am Ka, and this is my sister Kai," Ka didn't say much more on the matter of them being twins, it was quite obvious by their pelt color that they were mirror images of the same sort of being. Flicking his tail he watched the young cub, so interested, all the youth here was, so interesting too that all the younger members already knew which path to progress in. However, as Ka thought on it, he found that it was a suitable choice to weave the minds of the young into a path destined for as they would not falter and turn from the right choice.
A good idea indeed.
"I'd say, from what we have done to train ourselves, we are good fighters, but there is always room for improvement, of course. New moves and areas to train on and do better our skills," Ka said with a nod. Black fur falling into the view of his crimson eyes as they settled on the small child. The lightning bolts upon his back reminded him of their Aunt, Nix'Annada, Goddess of Lightning. She would not be a welcomed soul here for several reasons, color for one, and being an immortal...such things...no, not welcome, especially in Ka's presence after everything said and done.
"I like your markings Jua'mwiba, on your pelt, very outstanding," one day, Ka thought, there might be a story of a legend forged by this little one's future strength and courage. Ka glanced to Kai though, at Jua's question and prodding, Ka liked teaching others, showing others how to train and become better, but Ka also knew that it would be in the better hands of one in the profession already, skilled and toned for the rank.
"A soldier?" Kai said, almost in question, a smile crossing her maw, she glared at Ka from the corners of her eyes, she knew Ka wanted to spar more, but after everything, Kai wanted a rest, a break, she didn't want to overwork herself and risk injuring a muscle or tendon, no, that would not do and she would not stand for it. Although, Jua seemed so keen on the idea of seeing more moves, Kai was a softy at heart, and she knew how important fond memories of beginnings as a cub was, though she did not have many pleasant ones herself.
"As my brother said, we are doing well, but we can always become better in time with hard work," she smiled, stifled a laugh at the child's proper behavior, such a little charmer, and her mind fled to the thought of Ra'd, and how she longed for him to come soon. Though her mind came back to this moment, and she tried to think of how to pursue.
"We could Jua, but today, as of this moment, would not be opportune. You see, my brother and I have been under the sun quite long enough, you should never over work yourself, remember that. However, one day I would be glad..." she glanced to Ka, "we would be glad to show you more." she hoped she had not disappointed him, though Kai's pelt was indeed quite hot under the beating of the sun on her back.
"Perhaps you could help us Jua," she offered, a quest, almost, for their new friend, "could you show us to where some water is closeby?" she hoped he would be excited of having the 'right of passage' to help older lions, though...she hoped, for she did not want his heart disappointed.

"Ka and Kai?" Jua asked, tilting his head to the side and realizing that the two of them were in fact twins. He didn't seem to have any real feeling towards them one way or the other. They were quite interesting though, and that made Jua even more interested in staying close to them. Even when he was around them he felt... well, they seemed special somehow. Very cool. He didn't know about weaving his young mind, but they were old and they were powerful, and he wanted to be just like them. But better.
"Thanks mate. My mom named me after them, Sun Spike." Jua said, quoting what his mother had told him about his name. He was quite fond of them himself. Not that he liked to brag... who was he kidding? He loved to brag. "One day I will be a great warrior, and the last thing anyone will ever see of me will be the great stripes on my back!"
"Yes, getting better, that's what I want to do." Jua explained, nodding his head at them for emphasis, "No one will give me the time of day." He sighed a little when she said that they were tired. He supposed it happened to everyone... though is mother had often informed him that due to his boundless energy she could barely stand to be around him sometimes. He took no offence. He just needed to find someone who COULD. And besides, she said they'd show him some day, right?
"Sure, I know this place like the back of my paw." Jua informed him. He did, after all, spend most of his time running around like a maniac and causing endless bouts of trouble for everyone around him. Besides, if he scratched their back, they'd have to scratch his eventually, right? "Come on! Follow me!"

Ka looked at his sister, almost in surprise with her rambling and ambling on. She was the more vocal, and as of late, Ka didn't mind in the least. He had been thinking more as of late, which was unusual for him, but not on the subject matter. He was thinking on how he could better himself and better his chances to be fully accepted by everyone within the pride without doubt, though he guessed there might be those that would be skeptical over rogues coming into the sands, but he did not doubt himself, or his sister.
The both of them would forge a new beginning, in where Ryujin and Ra'd could come within the dunes and be accepted by those here after proving their worth as well, along with Ka and Kai's words, he had no doubt that their little family would be together again, time, only time needed to pass. Ka stood, and was at the ready to follow Jua'mwiba at a moments notice, though Ka stayed quiet, tired as well, though he would not openly admit it.
With his statement Kai did feel a pang of guilt for not being able to show him something, but she was tired, and did not want to have her muscles tense and make her feel the strain of overworking, if that happened, she would be brittle in body and mood for several days until her muscles would feel at ease. "Your still young Jua, as you get older things will change, you'll see, and then others will offer to show and teach you things you want to know, or they want you to know, just wait, and you will see," she said with a a smile.
Kai knew Ka was being quiet on purpose, and she rolled her eyes at him, stood and was also ready to follow after Jua and no doubt his fast pace for he seemed to have energy running through his veins. "Lead the way," she said, crimson eyes watching, waiting, almost baited to follow as thrist scratched her throat.

"Yeah... but being young shouldn't be a reason not to be the best." Jua mumbled under his breath. Of course, he could run faster and longer than any of his siblings. That was probably because to get him out of her hair, his mother had rather insistantly told him that he should learn to do laps around the pride for as long as he could. And for Jua, that meant either until he passed out or until he fell over. This pleased his mother immensly because it meant that he actually slept through the night.
But because he ran around so much, Jua really did know where everything was. He had a good memory, and though his father had called him a slow learner... he eventually caught on. So he led them straight to the nearest oasis, sitting down beside it, "Here, this one is as good as any of the others." Of course, he wasn't about to let them escape about a million questions while he waited for them...
"So, were you born in the firekin? I guess not if you didn't know where this thing was. Where are you from? My mom isn't from around here either. But my dad is. He used to travel around a lot. I've asked him a few times where stuff is. He told me some names." Jua said, speaking as quickly as he could to get out as many questions as possible, "Maybe I know where you're from and all that..."

Ka figured he would state no other thing unless he was called upon, he felt like a child in that manner though he was tired and it was too soon to converse after such musings within his mind of what to do how to act and how to prepare for everything that would be forged ahead of him and his sister, it would not be easy, but together, they would conquer any task set before them, they would have their home and they would not have to feel as if they did not belong anywhere anymore. This place, they were meant to be here.
He followed after the child, he seemed to know where he was going and internally it bothered Ka that he did not know every corner of this pride yet, it was something else to work upon besides training but that was just fine with him. The more to do to make himself feel at home the better the result in the end. As he follow, and as they stopped, Ka drank his satisfaction of water, sat onto his haunches and watched the child and his sister, with the questions proposed, he knew Kai would not stay quiet for long.
Kai followed Jua and smiled as she followed, and nodded in response to him as they reached their destination as a silent thank you. As she drank, she heard his question, smiled, and sat next to her brother, licking her lips and tasting the coolness that lingered there on her tongue. Kai's ears flicked as she thought of how to explain things without letting too much be known, if his mother was from the pridelands, and knew of their mother, then it would be known that she and Ka were born from a goddess, and neither of them wanted that at all. Although Kidondo knew, they didn't want all others to know either.
"You might know, which would be ironic, quite ironic, where was your mother from? Where did your father travel?" she tried to have her voice seem interested as to drive Jua to speak first, they had to take every precaution with keeping others from knowing about their own mother.

Jua sat down and looked thoughtful, "My mom was at the... pridelands? Or something like that. She came around when No did I think. She doesn't tell me much... or notice me, actually... or remember my name sometimes." None of this seemed to bother him, he just said it off-hand and without thinking. Which was pretty much the story of his life. "She didn't tell me anything about when she lived there though. I don't think she liked it very much. She's pretty strict and all that... I think they must have been lax or something, so she came here. I dunno, she left before the civil war started here, I'm pretty sure." He actually had no idea why his mother had left. It was hard to picture her traveling, or doing anything except being their magistrate. She really didn't seem like the adventurous type. Not like his dad anyway.
"My dad went all over. When he has time, he'll tell me about where he went... it all sounds really stupid. Just a lot of flat land and other lions where he can make some new family somewhere and abandon them." He sounded a little bitter at that, but it was mostly because he was an attention-starved child of eight, plus whatever half-siblings he had roaming around. "I can't keep track of everywhere he went. Where did you say you were from again?"

Ka listened to Jua and tried to keep his exterior calm, not like it would be fate that Jua's mother or father would have known of their mother, or strange family, would they? Ka didn't want to be rude, and didn't want to just be silent all the while, though time was rolling on the the sun was declining in its spot within the sky. He flicked his tail, thought for a moment of how to answer the child, and how to answer in a way that would keep it brief and not lingering.
"We came from the pridelands as well," Ka said with a nod, he felt badly that Jua's mother seemed not apt to noticing him or paying much attention, to him, Ka could sympathize, their mother was similar, but to more or an extreme. "We never knew our father," simple, almost blunt, but not in a harsh or degrading tone to dissuade Jua, "Our family was nothing but strange, so my sister, brother, and our great friend traveled here, they will come soon, you'll be able to meet them," he said with a nod. "Our brother, Ryujin, looks almost like No, but with silver-gray eyes," Ka said with a soft laugh.
He wondered if No would possibly think Ryujin a long lost brother.
"Everyone has their own stories, and pass them around, though we forge and make our own so that we can be noticed, be bold and proud, remember that Jua, for you can forge your own story, and your mother will know of your presence and be very proud of you," he said with a nod.
Standing, Ka shook himself free of the sand that clung to his fur, and looked to Kai, and then to Jua, "Jua, it it getting late in the day and my sister and I must rest before going on a hunt later, I would be honored if we could meet again, and this next time, show you some moves that would help you forge your own story," he said with a nod and a smile. Ka took a few steps, "Kai, I'll meet you at the den," and he looked to Jua, gave a nod and began walking towards home, knowing Kai would want to say her own goodbyes, he smiled, he and his sister knew each other too well.
Kai listened to her brother speak and a wave of relief fell over her form as he did not go more into their history. "Who were were in our home we left behind an who we are now has definitely changed, and we embrace it," Kai said confidently, smiling at her brother. She flicked her tail, listened to Jua, and as Ka did, she assumed, she felt a connection to Jua, and agreed with Ka, Jua could make himself known and his mother could do nothing but be proud of him, that was for sure.
As Ka left, Kai knew they would have to get some rest before trying a hunt tonight to bring back something for themselves and others here, this time was cut short, but Kai looked forward to when they would be able to show and teach Jua something that would help him in the long run with whatever apprenticeship he belonged.
"My brother is right, and we will teach you some things that you'll be happy to know, and we will be happy to teach Jua," Kai said standing, looking to Ka as his form was beginning to disappear as he headed home, "We'll come find you for that day," she said with a smile, started walking after Ka but stopped to look back at Jua, "We will never forget you, or your name Jua," and it was the truth, Jua was strong already being so young, and Kai was envious.
Kai turned and chased after Ka, soon they would rest, and a hunt would begin, but a new dawning would happen with Jua, and Kai looked forward to it.

Jua listened to everything that Ka told him with a sense of awe. They had traveled all the way from the pridelands like his mother had? Even brought their families with them? And their mother was just as absent as his own? And frankly, sometimes he felt as though his father might as well be absent from his life for all they talked. Or rather, didn't talk actually... He couldn't shake the idea that these two lions were like him somehow. They were always looking for something bigger and better, just like he was. And that was something that made a grin split his face.
"I will..." He called after them as they left, standing up straight and tall. "I'll make my own story, I promise! And I won't forget either! I'll make her proud of me!" He agreed, though he was silent for a moment after that, "And I'm sure... your mom will know your names too. If you want her too. I'm sure." His mother would be proud of him... one day. He knew it.
"And I'll take you up on that promise! I'm counting on you!" Because he suddenly had something he had never had before. He had people that he could admire. Lions that he could look up to, because he knew that they would do great things... and he wanted to meet everyone they knew. He wanted to be just like them. Great warriors whose stories would last forever.
With that he headed back home. Jua had a good feeling that his mother would remember his name that night.
