the old people are freaking out but the children are the future. Their norms will be THE norms in 20 years. they'll mellow out but still behave in ways that makes grandma turn in her grave. and so what?

sex is how men have been subordinating women for ages. A whole generation of slutty girls growing into adulthood actually threatens to undermine the last vestiges of patriarchy. If girls can act like sluts and not give a rats arse either way...then men have no way to control them with shame any longer.

you go girl, make him wear a condom

I support contraceptives but not as a means to screw everyone in sight and get away with it child free.

If you're point about about women's lib movement is true, then I hate the women's lib movement for making our society amoral.

Also you do realize the author of that editorial was a female right?

the author was old

the worst thing people can do cause themselves and their children the most amount of misery, is moralize sex. Its a bodily function. It is not right or wrong. People are human, so they will have sex. Period. Why the hell should we teach them that this is wrong? They will have sex any way because they are human, but they will go though life fighting shame issues. morality is just a learned behavior like any other and it has been used like an insidious weapon against women for decades.

The days where men are born with a god-stick and women are born with a shame cave are nearly over. Heres to progress.

Actually I feel better about myself for having abstained, it fuels my ego to know that I am different from a vast majority of other males my age. Everybody likes to feel good. If alot of other people started abstaining from sexual activities I would feel good about the fact that I have made a meaningful change in society, and other people would probably feel better based upon the info I've gathered from an overwhelming majority of my friends both male and female who have had sex and now wish they had waited.

The issue is not merely just about sex, the issue is about unrestrained over indulgence starting earlier and earlier, also I could make the argument that since sex is not an intellectual activity it promotes laziness of the brain.

Yes sex is not merely a morality issue, it is also an educational issue, for if you are pursuing physical stimulation that is time you are not pursuing intellectual stimulation.

Which leads me to my next point, the women's lib movement was about equal jobs with equal pay, I cannot see why you repeatedly insist on bringing sex into this all the while saying the same thing in different words.

Sex is also a public health issue, sex even with protection can still transmit STD's health insurance is expensive if not impossible to get health insurance with an STD. Ok let's look at this from a socialized healthcare system point of view... Birthing and STD treatment would take money out of a socialized healthcare, money that is also needed by other issues such as heart disease, automobile accident related injuries, and general sickness, ect. Which brings me to my next point

Sex is also an economic issue, for the more unwed teenage mothers there are, the higher amount of taxes we will all likely pay. Raising a child is an expensive thing to do, it definitely would be very difficult to do on minimum wage or anything close to it for that matter. A teenage mother who cannot afford her child will be using welfare programs, and thereby sucking more dollars out of the pocket of those who did not make the mistake of even taking a chance on a contraceptive. I for one would be very angry of having to pay more of my tax dollars for a person who screwed up and had a child they could not afford.

Please I request of you come up with some new arguements as I have done, I am growing wearing of repeatedly fighting the same arguement, much like you probably would if I simply threw morality, morality, morality at you and nothing else.
