Nori sat on his cream-colored bed, petting Katzchen to calm himself down. He was both excited and anxious to start some training with Kyrin, and the strokes of soft fur helped him relax. Kyrin was changing in the other room to be more comfortable for her exercises, so it also gave Nori time to change as well. He assumed regular skinny jeans and a long-sleeve black shirt should be just fine. When the bathroom door opened Nori looked up and smiled at Kyrin expectantly.

Kyrin smiled back at Nori. Her hair was done up in a high ponytail at the back of her head and only a few strands escaped the band. She wore gray work out shorts and a black spaghetti strap shirt. When she worked out, she tended to get very hot, so the less clothes she could get away with, the better. The make up that Nori had used to conceal her injury had long since dissipated throughout the day and the colors were splayed like an insult against her eye. In her right hand she held her mother's katana. The sheath was made out of dark cherry wood and was decorated with intricate butterfly designs. "You ready?"

Gaping for a moment, Nori shook his head and stifled a laugh. She was so pretty without even trying. Although Nori could never see her as more than a friend, he wondered how the plethora of men in the building could work without being distracted. "Yep!" was all he said in response. Katzchen was placed on the floor before the pair left and made their way to the elevator. Nori let Kyrin press in the complicated codes to reach the training floor that he had never been to. When the doors opened, he surveyed the area curiously.

The elevator doors opened up to reveal a hall. Ky led Nori through it, passing closed and marked doors. The doors were on every floor, acting as make shift offices in case any prying eyes might come about and try to investigate their higher floors. The pretend offices went a good ways in on every floor, as they hoped that it would deter further curiosity. So far they hadn't had to test it. Kyrin's hair swayed lightly back and forth as she walked with purpose down the hall. She made a left and the two came immediately upon a desk. A big man sat there with an amused look on his face. When they walked up he looked at them."Evening Miss Matsui. The normal room?" He asked. He gave a curious glance to Nori before turning back to Kyrin. He seemed unsurprised by her outfit, but it didn't stop his gaze from lingering longer then it perhaps should have. If she noticed his eye, Kyrin paid them no mind, instead she said, "Please and a card for one of the shooting rooms." Once he handed the cards to her she thanked him and began off down another set of halls, making sure that Nori was still with her. She showed him the two cards as they walked. "All the keys on this level are cards. They are color coded for the particular rooms." She held up the blue one, "The blue are for open floor training rooms. You can use these rooms if you just need a lot of space. Its a good place to practice hand to hand. The rooms are very big and can hold groups of people if you want to practice with others." Next she showed the yellow card. "The yellow cards are for the shooting ranges." They had finally come to the door that they needed. She pointed at the numbers, "The rooms are in series of numbers and letters, but you will want to keep in mind that they are not in order." She smiled, "Just in case someone we don't want up here gets in, we'd prefer them lost." Kyrin scanned the card on the black box next to the door. The access light turned green and she pushed the door open. The room was large, just like she'd said. Off to one side there were pads to put on the floor in case of sparing, and other such equipment. Kyrin looked at Nori, "Any questions?"

Everything Kyrin said was now stored in Nori's memory bank. He shook his head to her question, baffled and surprised at the size of the room. It was very impressive the way Xavier and Felix had set up the training floor, and throughout the walk there, Nori admired the creativity of keeping things secret and complicated. He looked over at the mats and it was hard to imagine himself doing anything useful or martial-arts-esque on them, but hopefully that would change. "So, eh, what do we do first? " Nori was at least hoping she didn't plan on practicing her katana on him.

Kyrin smiled at him, "You always look so nervous." She let out a small laugh and walked over to the mats. Setting her katana in their place she drug them to the center of the room. She set them out and said, "You know any hand to hand combat?" She smiled, "Ever been in a fight?"

Ky's comment about being nervous made Nori realize that he should relax. There was nothing to be afraid of with her around. "Yeah, I guess I usually am." He relaxed his shoulders and followed Kyrin to the mats, taking off his shoes. Testing the mat with one foot, he stepped onto it, feeling like it was now an enclosed space. "Ever been in a fight?" It was a reasonable question and she probably expected him to say 'no'. Thinking back Nori could only recall one instance in using his fists. It was between he and his older brother Porsche mercilessly beating at each other a few weeks after Ehrin's funeral. It probably didn't really count. "I've only gotten in a fight with my brother before. I have as much proper training as the next guy in the city." He gave a small smile, rubbing the back of his neck like usual.

As it was Kyrin wasn't exactly surprised that Nori had been in a fight, she was more surprised that he hadn't been in more. Ky knew that even timid people could blow up at time and growing up with Maddox was proof of that. He didn't do it often, but Maddox could get riled up. With a smile, she said, "Well I suppose you don't really need formal training to fight anyone but its good practice anyway. I know I have very little leverage over someone else in a fight unless I have a weapon." Ky had never been really good with the upper level martial arts, not like her cousins. Maddox and Xavier were really good and she knew that in a fight they could use it to their advantage. Jaydn always did well at it too. She thought as she took up position on the mat. Kyrin showed Nori some simple punches and kicks at first just to get started. When Nori progressed fairly well, Ky was impressed.

Nori had a lot of fun with Ky. He was somewhat klutzy, but picked up in the basics well enough. It seemed to him however, that although his mental reaction time was excellent, his body didn't move fast enough to catch up with what his brain wanted. Regardless, Kyrin was a patient teacher, and they had a couple laughs in between.

As soon as Ky knew that Nori had the basics down she stopped and said, "Now try to hit me." It was one way that she had been taught when she was young. Learn new moves, try them on the teacher. Kyrin was almost sure that Nori would be appalled, but she was hopeful that he would get over it.

Nori smiled, half-expecting Kyrin to be joking. When she didn't follow up with anything, he realized that she must be serious. "Eh?" He stood there, looking back at her for a moment. He couldn't imagine ever trying to attack Ky, and almost considered telling her this, but that probably wasn't what she wanted to hear. This was training, so sparring was perfectly normal. He hesitantly moved a bit forward. "Um, okay, here I go..."

Kyrin side stepped from a few of Nori's obviously half-assed attempts and stopped, "You don't want to hit me, do you?" She asked, basically stating what she knew to be true.

Smiling sheepishly, Nori apologized. "Sorry... It's just kinda..." Looking up at her expression, he gave a small sigh. "Okay, I'll try." With an apologetic look still on his face, he took stance, and chose a random moment to advance.

With a new momentum in his attacks Kyrin grinned and guarded them fluidly. With each punch or kick that Kyrin would block she would tell him a technique that would get around her defense. They went on like this for roughly an hour. As sweat began to glisten on Kyrin's brow, Nori finally made contact. The hit hadn't been hard, but it was solid enough. Kyrin stopped at that point and clapped her hands, "Nice shot!" She praised.
