@_@ For a scholarship and for a school project, I have begun to write LOVELESS as a screenplay all the way through act five. I didn't realize how hard it was to write a screen play. I figure if I get to posting it on here then it should keep me motivated because I need to have this done my March 10th. Yeah. Lovely(less). Hope you enjoy. This is just what I get from LOVELESS as a whole? Note: the only part of this that connects it to the C.C LOVELESS are the poems used! Enjoy.
PROLOGUE
FADE IN:
EXT. GRAVEYARD ON THE SIDE OF AN OLDER CHURCH - LATE DAY
An overhead view of a coffin which has silver edges and fine engravings on the lid. The coffin is lowered down into a hole.Shovels are heard and dirt is thrown into the grave. Weeping is heard.
DARIUS (O.S.) I remember the day my father was put into the ground. I thought it was all just a joke..
A little boy: YOUNG DARIUS, 12, adorable, dark haired, dark eyed, puzzled, dressed in black. is holding onto the hand of a woman: DARIUS' MOTHER, 35, pale, sickly looking, dressed in black, weeping, her eyes are clearly blood shot. YOUNG DARIUS reaches with his free hand and tugs on DARIUS' MOTHER's skirt, watching her intently.
YOUNG DARIUS: Momma. Why are you burying Dad? He didn't die. He couldn't have! That's a mean joke to play on him when he's sleeping!
DARIUS' MOTHER: Oh Darius! (She sobs quietly) My sweet child. I could only wish this was a joke. Our beloved Goddess has reclaimed him.
DARIUS' MOTHER covers her face with her hands as she continues to cry.
YOUNG DARIUS Don't cry Momma.
YOUNG DARIUS reaches up and grabs DARIUS' MOTHER's arm and pulls on it gently. Attempting not to disappoint YOUNG DARIUS too much, DARIUS' MOTHER holds back her tears and turns away from the grave. Others who had gathered for the funeral are further away from the grave.
FADE IN:
INT. -A SMALL HOUSE'S LIVINGROOM. MORNING
On the table rests a piece of paper, on it words written in a beautiful cursive handwriting, in red ink.The room is empty besides the furniture.
DARIUS (O.S.) Two days after the funeral, my mother left me with only a simple note and not one bit of it made sense to me back then. If I would have been a good religious boy I would have recognized it.
DARIUS' MOTHER (O.S.) (Reading from the note on the table) 'When the war of the beasts bring about the world's end, the Goddess shall descend from the sky. Wings of light and dark spread afar. She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting.'
DARIUS (O.S.) And that's how my search began: the search for the gift of the Goddess. I thought it would lead me to find my mother. And who would have thought that an interest in religious speech would ultimately lead me to become a scholar? I wonder if my mother would have been proud?
