Lumin was ecstatic, though anyone who didn't know him would think he was almost bored, he had just written in his journal, and told his parents that he was going to go make good use of his new sketch book, so now all he needed was someone to go with. Since he didn't have a Pokemon of his own, he needed someone to go along with him in case some wild Pokemon became violent. He also knew where he could find some. He walked into the Pokemon Center, his Nurse Joy smiled at him, he was a regular visitor, as he often came to watch and usually draw, the trainers with their Pokemon. He walked behind the counter and nodded. He looked back into the room full of trainers eager to get onto their next adventure, "Nurse Joy, have you heard anyone talking about going up to the Rinaul Mountains? I was going to go up there to sketch some Pokemon in my new sketchbook.
"Ah, you finally got that book, huh? About time."
Lumin grinned a little, Yea, and I'm going to fill it up soon. But I need some help to go up to the mountains.

Choppi smiled as the little Blissy behind the counter handed her a pokeball with a heart doodled on it’s top, a capture unit with her own doodle. Grasping the ball in both hands, she nodded in thanks to the healer Pokemon as it waddled off. Usually Nurse Joy gave her a small report on Hannah’s health, which was something she looked forwards to since the Gym kept her so busy. Tying the pokeball to her right pigtail, she flicked a piece of blue hair over her shoulder as she turned to face the counter. Nurse Joy was conversing with a person that she hadn’t seen around Katarina city before. No pokeballs on his person told her right away that he wasn’t a trainer, and the sketchbook in hand told her what he really was.

“Hello…” Choppi tried to smoothly interject into their conversation. “Thanks for the work on Hannah Nurse Joy, I really appreciate it.” The watcher was always smiles, even when dealing with new people in the town.

“Oh, it was no problem. We enjoy seeing Hannah here at the Center.” The nurse replied back, happy as always. Holding up a hand she motioned to the young man in front of her. “This gentleman is a watcher looking to head up Rinaul Mountains for some sketching.”

Choppi giggled at him as she adjusted her backpack “Really? I’ve been meaning to head up there sooner or later. The gym’s been so busy I’m glad Luna gave me a break.” Holding out her hand, she grinned at him. “Name’s Choppi.”

Lumin's eyes grew a little wider, but not much. A trainer from the gym? He had hoped to maybe find a beginner trainer who was going to have to come back here sooner or later anyway, but he hadn't even considered that he would find a gym trainer. He had lived in the town his whole life, and never met any of the three of them except just seeing them walking by or as he sketched from the corner of the Center. He held out his hand to the trainer, "Lumin. It's nice to meet you. I.. um.. I don't have any Pokemon so I was looking for someone to go with me up to the Mountain, I was hoping to catch sight of some Shinx. I've.. I've heard there are quite a few up there." He hated talking to people he didn't know well, and the fact that this was a gym trainer who was offering to help didn't make it much better.

“Hmm…” Choppi reached into a bag pocket and pulled out a notebook which she flipped through expertly. She’d been keeping track of the Pokemon in the local area for quite some time. “Yeah, that’s about right. There should be plenty of Shinx up there around this time of year!” Poking her smiling cheek, she flipped the notepad closed. “Hee, well Lumin if you want to travel with me, my Hannah is in tip top shape for such a thing.” The pokeballs tied to her hair seemed to glint in the pokecenter’s bright lights. The watcher talked of one Pokemon, but she clearly had two pokeballs of great importance. What could the other one be?

Zipping her bag shut, she motioned towards the door. “Were you ready to go, or did you need a few supplies before the trip?” In her bag she carried the essentials all the time, just because you never knew. He seemed to be thrown off by her presence, so she was going to try to help him out as much as she could, but not take over. That would have been greatly rude.

Lumin bit his lip, "No.. no, I just have my pencils and my book." He put his book in one of his cargo pockets. He also stuck his hand into one of his other pockets to ensure that he did, indeed have his drawing tools with him. He shifted awkwardly, not quite sure of himself, Um.. let's go."

"Sure." Choppi grinned, pulling her backpack over her shoulder a bit more. "So you want to lead the way? We can hike up the ridge or take the footpath. Which would be eaiser for you to sit and sketch at?" Choppi was used to sketching in cars and on ships, so it was no problem whichever he picked. Walking towards the exit, the automatic door opened outside to the busy city of Katarina.

Lumin cheered up a little, he always did when he thought about sketching Pokemon, "I think we should go up the ridge, we might be able to see some that might be up there, and we'd be able to see the ones at the bottom too. He walked out the door and onto the street. He took a deep breath, then turned looked up at the mountains. He was going there. Just like he's always wanted to,

Choppi grinned as she untied the pokeball from the left side of her hair. “Okay then, let’s get going!” Tossing the poke ball up into the air with a rather cute spin, she eyed the orb with confidence. “Cassie, I choose you!” The air lit up with a red glow as a quadruped Pokemon began to form, and then eventually flashed into a full grown stantler. Bucking it’s head and showing off it’s horns, Cassie pawed the ground as she was happy to be out of her pokeball. Choppi patted the reindeer on her muzzle, as Cassie’s pokeball was hanging back on her ponytail.

“This is Picasso, but I call her Cassie.” She waved a hand at the Stantler, who blushed in return. “I’m going to ride on her back up the path a bit, and if you want you can do the same.” Tilting her head she smiled, as Cassie nudged Choppi’s shoulder. “Yes, yes, or we’ll walk and you’ll carry our bags.” Nodding happily, she uttered a small ‘Stant!’ Giving Lumin a thumbs up she nodded. "Well? Let's go!" Her energy was over the top at times.

Lumin stared in awe at the large Pokemon. It was one of the biggest he had ever seen, and it looked powerful. He watched the exchange between the two, and was somewhat taken aback by the thought of riding a Pokemon, "Uh.. no thanks, I'll walk." The gym trainer's energy was already mildly tiresome, but she said she was a watcher, so she must, at least, be charismatic with wild Pokemon.. or at least he hoped. But her antics did pull a small crooked grin out of him, "Off we go then." He began walking to the edge of town, but stopped abruptly. He turned around sheepishly to Choppi, "Um.. maybe you should lead, since I have no idea where I'm going."

The girl nodded, her bright blue pigtails bouncing as she slung her pack over the corner of Cassie’s large antlers. Bobbling her head up and down, the stantler let the bag hang there for what it was worth. It was light anyways. Making way through town, Choppi waved and smiled at a few people, but when it got to the mountain trail she was all ready to go.

“Okay Cassie, step lightly and keep moving. We’ll follow.” She gave her kind commands to the large Pokemon, who blinked and did as she was asked. Trotting off at a slow pace, the watcher followed after. Pulling a small pair of travel binoculars from her jacket pocket, she began to search the trees with them.

“Just last week there was a huge gaggle of Beautifly hanging around. The tree blossoms were in bloom as well. It was such an amazing sight.” Her over bubbly demeanor was bridled, and although she kept a smile on her happy face, she was all business now. Years of trained Pokemon watching seemed to bleed through, because she was barely making tracks in the dirt as they moved. That would keep the Pokemon more at ease in the long run. “Keep an eye out, and lemme know what you see.” She winked at Lumin over her shoulder.

He was taller than her, and most people were because Choppi was just five foot. That didn’t seem to stop her at all however. The stantler plodded along, also leaving as little a trail as possible, as the odd convoy moved through the hallowed out path.

Lumin was quiet and alert, he tried to follow Choppi's lead, but she was apparently much more skilled than she had seemed at first. He walked at the end of the trio, looking carefully at each tree, bush, bit of tall grass, and rock. Finding and sketching a rare Pokemon would be spectacular, but he was mainly looking for the tricolor blue, black, and yellow pattern of the Shinx. He had seen quite a few in pictures, and several in the PokeCenter, but never one in the wild. He was so intent on his search, that he barely noticed that he was being left behind before Choppi was out of sight. He rushed to catch back up as quietly as possible.

As he was rushing to catch up, he saw a flash of color out of the corner of his eye, but when he turned to look, it was gone. He looked closely at the underbrush where he thought he had seen the thing disappear.

Pausing for a moment to take in a breath of clean air, Choppi listened and noticed something was missing. The second set of footsteps from the other watcher. Twirling around so fast that her jacked flared out, Choppi spotted him intently looking at something. Snapping her fingers, Cassie heard the cue and stopped trotting. Immediately she bent her head and began to NOM on a bush. Hearing her bag hit the ground, the watcher cringed.

Walking back to where he was, she moved almost silently. Making sure he saw her, so as not to scare him and the Pokemon, Choppi moved to Lumin’s side. “Found one?” She whispered in a low almost inaudible tone.

Lumin nodded, his dark eyes sweeping the terrain, there was something there, he had seen it, and it was much more than just his imagination. As he was looking, something else caught his eye, this time it was perfectly still. There, caught on a piece of a bush, was a tiny clump of blue fur. If it had been anything less vibrant he would never have seen it, but the bright blue stood out against the greens and browns of the bushes. He pointed to the little bit of blue, making sure the trainer had noticed it.

Choppi stayed unmoving at his side, her breathing quiet to keep the pokemon from running. Shinx could easily be spooked, just like any pokemon, but in return they could shock you something awful.

Waiting on Lumin to make the move, she nodded at the patch of fur in the bush. It was time for her to observe what the young watcher would do to lure the pokemon out. It was a process that coulf go smoothly, or could be a huge life altering experience. Feeling a twinge on the side of her leg from the time she had to run from a Cranidos, she wanted to cross her fingers, but didn't for fear of ruining Lumin's moment to shine.

Lumin glanced over at the other watcher, she wasn't making a move, but she was staring at him.. this appeared to be his show.. crap. He hadn't thought about the fact that it was probably going to be any more complicated than finding the Pokemon, keeping quiet, and then drawing it. He bit his lip as his eyes darted back and forth over the bush, looking for something, ANYTHING that he could use to his advantage. The bottom of the shrub was slightly raised, allowing a little bit of room to look, not enough to see the whole Pokemon, and not enough for the Pokemon to see him, but enough for him to at least tell where it was. He slowly bent down to put his head to the ground and looked under the leaves and twigs. There were the signature black and blue legs of three Shinx. He could tell there genders based on the coloring of their feet, all blue for a female, black hind feet for a male, or so the atlas had said. (got that off Bulbapedia, then checked it with the game and just thought it would be an interesting little add in) There were two females and a male. He watched as they slowly walked behind an outcropping of rocks. He raised back up, keeping his head below the top of the relatively tall bush. He looked around again, there had to be something he could use to lure them back out, and maybe somewhere that they could peek through the bushes.. no such luck. Why hadn't he thought to bring any bait? Or buy any for that matter. He closed his eyes to think, there had to be SOMETHING he could do...
