Phineas Mizerlou was peering as best he could into the glass counter of the pizza place. They were in line to order and he was trying to see which of the regular ones looked good. However, while most kids could press their nose or cheek up against the glass to look close, Phineas had a longish nose and large antlers that prevented this, so he just had to peer through his spectacles and guess.

The moment Winona entered the pizza she flared her nostrils wide to bring the smells of the food into her nose faster. Oh sure she'd already been about to smell the food a bit from outside the store but it was so much different once you were actually in there. The warm air carried bread and garlic and tomato smells to her, the scent of cheese and olives almost made the young bison child drool.
Gleefully the girl clip clopped her way across the linoleum floor, being careful not to slip and she hopped to a halt at the end of the line. There was nothing in the world as good as tasty food, especially things that were doughy.
Samantha fallowed slowly after her excited daughter, wondering or perhaps hoping for her budgets sake, that as Winona grew she might outgrow this need to snack every few hours.

Being the people watcher he was, Phineas found himself turning and waving cheerfully at the bison girl. "Hallo there!" he said warmly.

Winona stared at the strange boy in front of her for a moment before grinning back at him. " Hi I'm Winona, who are you?" she asked the boy. His horns were sort of funny looking as far as she was concerned but otherwise he was sort of neat and his face wasn't all that different from her own which was a plus.

"I'm Phineas." he replied cheerfully, "a pleasure to meet you, Winona. You look very nice today." The boy was friendly and cheerful, and compliments came sort of natural to him. Anyway, what was wrong with saying a pretty little bison girl looked nice?

The girl smiled at the compliment, she liked to look nice, although staying clean and looking nice didn't always go hand in hand like they were today. " Thank you, your horns are neat" she replied not aware that what the moose child had were not horns. " What kind of pizza do you like?"

"Thanks! I like my antlers too." the boy said cheerfully.
"Oh, I dunno really. I'm not that picky. What do you like?"

" Your horns are called ahnt lures?" Winona said sounding out the new and wholly unfamiliar word.
"Veg'tarian it has lots of different stuff on it" The bison girl said in regards to the pizza question. Really the more the better as far as she was concerned. Just thinking about it make the girl fidget a little and her entire tail flick back and forth with impatience.

"Mhm, ant-lers. Deer and Moose get them, among other creatures. It's like our version of horns." the brunette explained cheerfully, glancing around.
"Oh vegetarian's quite nice, yes. Though my mother's more partial to ordering something like pepperoni or extra cheese. Something about not liking excess toppings."

" Ok, are they strong?" Winona knew her owns horns might be small but they were still strong and a bit sharp, she'd ruined a couple pillows already.
" More is better though" How could less possibly be better? . " My mom likes Hawaiian though" she said gesturing behind her to Samantha.

"A bit, yes, though they're mostly good cause of leverage and such. I'm not good at using them yet but they're nice. Not as strong or sharp as yours are though." the other hiccup complimented kindly.
"Yeah but Pizza gives Mother heartburn if she has too many toppings and that hurts."

" You're are bigger" she pointed out only mildly jealous. Both horns and antlers seemed to have good and bad in them so that made them even in her eyes.
"Dunno bout heartburn but my fingers broke once, now they're wiggly" Winona chirped cheerfully, ahh yes that had hurt badly but wiggly fingers were pretty cool.
Samantha sighed softly, great now it sounded like she let her kid break her fingers.

"Mm yes but that makes me more awkward. You don't have to turn your head sideways to fit in doorways, now do you?" Phineas suggested cheerily.
"Oh, that doesn't sound very normal. I haven't broken anything really. Well, except that one vase but that's cause Mama handed me a hammer and we put on safety glasses and protective gear to break it. It was fun."
Ixxie rolled her eyes a bit and smiled. Well, if Samantha sounded like she let her kid break her fingers, Ixxie sounded like she and her son were crazy destructive weirdos.

Winona shook her head " Nope I ripped some pillows but I can get through doors just fine" Imagine that not fitting through doors unless you went sideways. it;d be so annoying, she didn't know how this boy could possibly do it and not wish people made wider doors.
" You're allowed to break stuff? That's so neat, did you put it back together again later?"
Samantha shot Ixxie a sympathetic glance, children were clearly out to get their parents for some on unknown reason.

"Oh no, we broke it up for an art piece Mother was doing. We took all the little pieces and put them in with other stuff. Mama really loooooooves doing art stuff so we do all sorts of neat things like that. I'm even allowed to draw on the walls and furniture at home."
Ixxie returned Samantha's glance before speaking, "please don't encourage other kids to do that sorta thing at their homes, their parents probably would hate that."
