My brother and I were debating this. xP I want to know what you think.
Although a lot of Materia's nice... You can only choose one, and we'll already assume you have an "All" Materia on you if that makes you feel better. wink

I'm assuming you mean what materia you would like to have in real life...
In that case:
Morph....the ability to turn things into handy items would be highly profitable and also relatively low profile. You could do this with no one ever knowing and rake in the cash.

Full Cure...I think they have that if I remember correctly...the ability to cure all your wounds...or your friend's wounds...completely.

Well this is interesting....
The first thought that came to my mind was Mimic...but then realised I would need someone to cast something before me for it to work. (>,<)
Then I felt I would just default to the ultimate...ultima, but that made me think how destructive I'd be and how much attention I'd get. (>.>)
I finally chose to go with manipulate! Then I could get my own megaphone and cape and crown!!! What could possibly go wrong! biggrin

Morph do sounds very useful materia, but I'd rather take Time materia. With Haste, Slow and Stop at master level. There is millions of sleight places where those would become very useful. I have been so often running against the clock that I'd be very happy to have it..

I originally was going to say a summon materia but that would just attract too much attention...the same with full cure...once people knew you had that ability, people would want to exploit it & you.
Morph & manipulate could be used relatively unseen and stealthily. 2x/4x Cut would probably be the least useful IRL.

gack but with only one materia I can't use Phoenix and final attack (or whatever it was called), I really want to roast people and come back from the grave anytime I die. It's like someone holding a gun to your face and then realizing it will only hurt for a sec before you stand back up and kick their roasted remains.
*sigh* Well since I can only have one I'll go with Time Materia also.

W-item, so I'd never have to pay for anything ever again Underwater. I think that'd be the most useful in a real-world sense, and also it'd be totally kick-a** to go underwater forever and not need to breath.
Time would also probably be pretty cool, though. I've always loved haste and stop.

Hmm... Time, Summons, Healing... It's really hard for me to choose just one...
Ooh! I got it: Choco/Mog! Then, you could summon your own chocobo to ride, or just use it in battle! ^_^

Wow, the possibilities...
The Master Summon Materia would just be really, really freaking awesome. And I'd dare anyone to try and bother me with it. I'd have to go with the Master Magic Materia, though. Transform, Time, Full Cure, Ultima, Exit? (Easy way to get rid of people you don't like.)
...I sort of feel like that's cheating, though. If I had to pick, I'd say Time.
The most useless I'd say would be the W-'s, MP Plus, or Magic Plus. Really, what are you going to do with 'em?

what about enemy skill materia? That'd give you pretty much everything, healing, status, and attack.
