Hi everyone! Lyx and I have decided to create an award for outstanding gaians who prove themselves deserving. They'll be getting an award graphic and a sealed envelope which has been generously contributed by none other than Lyx.
I'm going to be making the award; for those of you who haven't seen it, it will look be one of the two pics below:
With so much spam and whatnot on Gaia, it's sometimes difficult to weed through all the fluff and find the truly nice gaians here at the site, that's why we need members to suggest worthy Gaians to give the award to, so keep your eyes peeled and let us know!
If you'd like to be more involved with the GNA award, let us know!

Oh, reading the suggestions here gave made a little light go off in my head! It only happens once in a while, but I got a bit inspired and wrote this in a jiffy while trying to get inspired for the award. Let me know what you think. I've tried to put it together kind of how I saw it in my head.
 Once upon a time,
My cookie was a whole.
Perhaps it was a crime,
For this cookie had no goal.
And then my cookie said one day,
"Don't sit on me and smile!
Let me be enjoyed a bit
And you'll find that it's worthwhile."
So now my nibbled cookie
Is happy as can be,
And I've spread a little love around,
As you can plainly see!
Anyway, that's a bit of a jingle to go on the award, but it still needs a proper name. Focus people, focus! xd

Exactly. That's the hard part, trying to figure out a proper name that suggests those things. stressed
Um... Charitable Gaian Award...?
Gaian Benefactor Award?
Gold Star Award?
Shooting Star award?
Blarg! I'm stuck! I kinda like the idea of a hero cookie award, since most gaians know what that entails, helpfulness and such.

So, maybe just the "Have a Cookie" award?

Hmm... The "Have a cookie" award... It still sounds a bit off to me. whee
What about the cheerful cookie award? Bah! I don't know.
Maybe we should just give up and call it the Nicety Award? LOL!

How bout just "You deserve a cookie" and then have the jingle in a separate letter? Like deliver it w/ the cookie? Is that even possible? LOL...probably not...but it should be xd

I think just "The Nicety Award" might actually suit. And our slogan, or the thing we say when awarding could be "Have a Cookie".
I like the Nicety Award for two reasons:
The first is that the name of the award is tied to the guild - so we have effective branding. biggrin
The other is, I want to get onto picking someone to give this fantastic letter to! I don't want us to lose momentum over just the name.
Whatever we pick, it will stick, and people will never think "oh, they agonized over that!", more, "oh, yes, the 'x' award, I've heard of that!".

Lol! Good points Lyx. And I like the idea of including the "have a cookie" thing when we give them the award.
Ok, so now that we're sticking with something, I'll have to get to work on the award! I hope I can make it juuuust right.

Ok, so I finally got a bit of inspiration and did some work on the award. I made two, one without a background, and the other with one. I'm not sure which one I like better and I need some feedback. Which one do you all like better? I can fade out the background more if it needs it, and let me know what you think of the colors. Is it too girly?
Does it need a space for something like "Awarded to:" and "presented by", do you think?
Is it too big? Does the poem not work with it? Let me know what you think.
Any suggestions? Or should we leave it as-is?
