The History of Luna and Artemis

User Image

I'm sure you all know Luna and Artemis, Queen Serenity's royal advisors, and how they aided the royal family since the Silver Millenium. And you heard about them coming from planet Mau. But what about their time on Planet Mau?

((I'm sorry if this gets a little confusing, I can draw. I can't write. XD))

Luna grew up in a family of three: her mother, father and brother. Her father, Kaito, was a spotted black and orange cat. Her mother, Kairi, was a lovely shade of blue, like the color on a Russian Blue. Her brother was named Satoshi, and he was a dark grey, almost black. No one knew where Luna got her color from, though gossip from the neighbors said otherwise.

Of course, those were their cat forms. In reality, all of them had human figures. Their fur colors had effect on their human hair as well. Kaito had cropped orange hair, Kairi had dark blue hair, and Satoshi had black hair, as well as a bad haircut. A HORRIBLE haircut, actually. He had tried to cut it himself, and it turned out that he was VERY uncordinated with sissors.

The school Luna went to was top-notch, the best of the best. All her life she had studied to be an Ambassador to go to foreign galaxies and make peace with said galaxies and the galaxy of Mau. Throughout her school years, she had a few encounters with Artemis, although they weren't the best. At some points she and him had fought over something insignificant, like a math question or what galaxies were more important to go to. But never did they think that they would be working on the same mission.

PROLOUGE PART 2

Artemis, on the other hand, was an only child. An oddball from the rest of the cats like Luna, because of his silver hair/fur. He grew up in a small house on the edge of the forest, and his childhood days were spent roaming the woods, chasing animals, exploring caves and searching for treasure. His parents, his father being Akatori, and his mother being Aiko, soon had another child, a girl. Artemis developed a distaste for his younger sister, because she took all the attention that he used to get.

Things were tough for Artemis as a teenager, as his sister was the main focus in his family's life. Unlike Luna, who's parents loved both her and Satoshi, Artemis' parents loved only his sister, Akane. Artemis' situation persuaded him to go into the Ambassador section of work. Once Artemis passed the test to the prestegous "Shadow's School for Ambassador Training", he showed it to his parents. OF course, his parents shunned the letter and went back to coddling Akane.

Artemis lived this life until he left home. As he left, his sister came up to him with an evil grin on her face. "Goodbye, Artemis. Dear brother." she said with a sneer, and turned on her heels and left. Artemis was left with a sickening taste in his mouth as he hauled his stuff to the academy houses. Each student had a house at the academy, and it just so happened that Luna and Artemis were neighbors.

-Chapter One-

Inside the small houses of the students at the academy, there were three essential pieces of furniture. A bed, table and chair. It was up to the students to buy or bring other pieces of furniture to decorate. And depending on the amount paid to go here, they could have a bigger room. Luna's parents had generously given her many wonderful pieces of furniture, as well as a few pictures and items of theirs to remember them by. Luna decorated it to her liking. And if there is ONE thing you must know about Luna, she LOVES pillows. Yes, pillows. All kinds. She also loved books. She spent her free time reading. Stuffed animals were another favorite. She couldn't get enough! Luna's room looked like this:

((They didn't have kitchens because of the cafeteria. And I forgot to add a door to the bathroom, so invision that in your mind!))

Luna was a studying fool. She wanted top grades to get into the highest in her class. She wanted to be the first female ambassador. And she was the highest in her class.

Artemis' house was small. Very small. He had a bed and a table and a chair, and a light. That was about it, considering his past relations with his family. At the time, he thought he'd ask his neighbors about the academy and what to do about his living space. You don't need a picture to see how bad his living space was. Since Artemis didn't like the idea of living alone, or with a cramped room, he went over to his neighbor with his possessions.

Luna heard a knock at the door, and she stood up from her illuminated room where she had been studying the Japanese language. She turned the knob and pulled open the door. "Hello..?" She peeked around the door. To her suprise, it was a boy with silver hair.

Artemis watched the door open in suprise as a girl with silky black hair opened shyly. He felt awkward for asking her, but she had the most room out of all his neighbors. "Hey, my name is Artemis, and... do you mind if I, you know, camp out here for a while? My house is..." he trailed off, looked away at his small room of a house. Luna looked past him and focused on his house, and on him.

"Yes, you can stay here if you wish. My name is Luna. But if you do anything perv-" Luna was cut off.

"I just met you," Artemis sputtered. "Why would you think I'd do something like that?!"

Luna looked embarrassed to even mention that. She opened the door wider and let Artemis in. She hurridly ran around her room gathering things to let him sleep on. She had a large pillow that would be good for him, as well as a blanket and a bunch of smaller pillows. "Here, as you can see, I love pillows." Luna said meekly. Artemis looked amused.

"I can see that, Luna." He chuckled. Luna flushed and moved away from him, pointing towards a door on the wall. "There is the bathroom. Go brush your teeth, it's almost curfew." She said, shoving him into the bathroom. "And don't come out until I say so, I need to change!"

Artemis was quickly shoved into the bathroom. An all white bathroom, he thought that she cleaned well. His first thought: 'she has a LOT of toilet paper!' After brushing his teeth and getting the okay from Luna, he emerged in his white pajamas. Luna sat on her bed wearing black pajamas, reading a book. Her tail and ears were showing. She prefered her neko-style ears to her human ears, since she could be more alert while sleeping. She watched as Artemis backed off from the pillows, and took a running start. He flopped into the pillow, and a bunch of smaller pillows flew everywhere, which abruptly landed on him. The poor neko-jin was covered in pillows. Luna giggled at his stupidity, and crawled under the covers of her bed. Artemis crawled under his.

"Night, Luna."

"Goodnight, Artemis."

And that was how they met. In time, Luna grew to be a motherly figure towards Artemis, acting like the mother he never had. Through the school years, they were partners on every subject and they were classified as "The school power-couple", even though they weren't dating. But had their friendship turned to more than that..?

It was graduation day already. For the last four years, Artemis and Luna have lived side by side, like brother and sister, and shared everything. ((And yes, before you ask, the dorms were co-gender. They had security cameras.))

Luna stood with her class. A large, heavily built teacher stepped up to a podium. It seemed so small under the large man.

"Welcome students, to this wonderful day." He started, and cleared his throat. "Today you will all graduate and get your assignments." The crowd cheered. The students looked at one another with expressions of nervousness on their faces. "Artemis, come foward."

Artemis grinned in spite of himself, and watched as the teacher called names. As he heard his name being said, he walked towards the podium, and stepped around it. The teacher gave him a diploma and ruffled his hair a bit. That got the audience laughing silently. Artemis smiled as the teacher congratulated him on a job well done, and when he stopped, the crowd went wild. Luna was the first and loudest one.

"ARTEMIS!" She shouted, and cheered, her arm waving frantically in the air. When he waved back, she grinned. As more and more students went up, she got more and more nervous. Finally, she was called up. She stood meekly on stage, and accepted the diploma without a word. Artemis waved to Luna from his seat off-stage, and she rushed over. They left together without watching the other students.

"OhmygoshArtemisthatwasSOOOOembarrasing!" Luna babbled on and on about her experience, while Artemis was deep in thought.

"Luna, what if we're seperated?"
He looked at her seriously. She stopped talking and stared down at the ground.

"Well, we don't know that for sure, lets just open up the papers and see what we got." Luna replied, and ripped the blue ribbon off the diploma. She quickly opened it and read it aloud. "Andromeda Galaxy."

Artemis' blood ran cold. "But they are... they're..." He quickly ripped open the paper. "Solar System." He looked at her.

Luna stared intently at the ground, willing herself not to cry. She couldn't part with Artemis, not after all these years. It was at that time that she realized that her friendship with him had turned to something more. Without realizing it, she had let one tear slip loose. It rolled slowly down her cheek and fell to the ground. She shook with fear.

"Luna, don't cry, we're NOT going to be seperated." Artemis said defiantly. Amidst all this, he was formulating a plan to sneak Luna onto the ship he was to board. "I'm not going to let you out of my sight!" He vowed.

And so began their millenia long love story.
