-=The Former Creation=-

I was brought into this world at first appearing as so, but as time went on and my strength grew..and the influence I eventually had on the goddess herself, allowed me to obtain great power..and so with great power, I needed to shed this form so many knew so well...

-=Shadow's Birth=-

User ImageShadow, just like any other living creature, he had been a child once...and this was probably the only time he was a sweet kind being. He had been subjected to so much pain and suffering that would end up shaping the way he would turn out down the line. The dragon child had been nothing more than just an experiment in twisted lab, born from the wing and blood of another demon, Sammael. This 'father' of his was the main source of his pain for a spell, of course he didn't feel like he should have to be the one to take care of this little one...and he saw it fit that the child ought to die by his own hand.

That never happened due to the intervention of other experiments trapped in the very same lab. A deadly virus ended up consuming the lab, killing it's inhabitants one by one. Sammael was one of many to succumb to it in the end...and a cure was found just in time, being administered to the remaining experiments before their lives were lost. Many things have happened since then, but three years had passed before he was finally allowed an escape..

The young child's eyes were tracing the dark sky as his wings figdeted against the small hoodie he was wearing. It was quite uncomfortable though it did provide him warmth from the harsh wintery night. Would every day be like this? Cold and dark? Was this how the Earth was? Forgive him for being so ignorant..but so many questions raced through the child's mind as he began to slowly wander a bit farther and farther down the alleyway as he got closer and closer to the sidewalk. There was barely any sound of any other living being other than himself..so maybe being this close would be fine. But then such a sudden crash made the child jump and retreat back a couple of steps as an angry cat had leapt up and crashed against a trashcan.

What Shadow didn't realize was that he had stepped on the poor cat's tail..he couldn't tell with these shoes on. Hissing right back at the fleeting cat, Shadow then caught then sound of slow walking footsteps out on the sidewalk. Perhaps that disturbance had grabbed someone unwanted attention? Upon his instinct the child dove behind a trashcan, his heart racing as he peered ever so slightly over the edge of the trashcan. He hoped he wouldn't be the one to get them caught by anyone then sent back from where they had just escaped from..

But the curiousity was overwhelming..the child wanted to walk out and wander among the streets, look around at all the sights and experience life the way it was meant to be rather than in a cage..or within walls constantly living in fear and agony. He was going to wait until those footsteps were gone..and they did halt, but right where he didn't want them to stop...at the only exit they had, the entrance into the alleyway did a figure stand. The cat that had it's tail stepped on had retreated to the human's side as it meowed and looked into the alleyway as well. The being seemed aware of multiple presences in the alleyway, although too dark to see completely as a gentle female voice echoed on in the silence,

"It's ok...you can come out..."

Shadow's heart stopped as he sat where he was at and waited. The lady left and a member of the group had suggested that they should have brought him some gadget to play with..a gameboy? Shadow quirked a brow at Piku's comment, what the hell was a gameboy? He had been devoid of all of those things after all..well except for that dancing machine those couple of years ago....so it was a gaming type of thing then, wasn't it? With a shrug the child accepted the bop on his head as he was shortly lectured by the other about the dangers of the outside world just as he went on talking about how they needed to get to a more populated place than this tiny town. Then, they started talking about currency..and that's where they lost shadow to the colors of the paper.

To him, the colors reminded him of sticky notes...really complicated looking sticky notes. The child looked back up at the older one and then sighed and pulled up the hood around his head after it had slipped down from the quick panic,

"I suppose...but maybe I should just kind of lurk behind you two rather than out in front.."
the discussion turned to where they could possibly be staying..though once again the discussion had moved back to this 'money' thing. Were those pieces of paper really that important to function out in this world? What a drawback...
So Shadow awaited for whoever that was going to lead, to lead them to a place to stay just as the fog began to roll into the streets of the town. Good thing this place was small...at least they'd be able to find lodging somewhat easier though as conspicious as they had appeared. To the little of their knowledge did that lone woman whom had discovered the newcomers in the first place, she had already informed the controlled little town's tavern and inn about the possibility of an odd group.

Shadow was growing tired of the constrictive hoodie...he wanted to take the hoodie off and run around in the cold in the style he was used to, shirtless. With a huff and a small puff of his condensed breath appearing in front of him, Shadow looked on as everyone seemed to chose their place to travel in their oddly matched group. When the leader made it apparent that he was waiting for him to get in front of him, Shadow moved in front of him. With a yawn and another sigh, Shadow was beginning to get tired and just a little hungry...though he would rather sleep first and eat days later.

"Ready..."
the child muttered.

Shadow sighed, his webbed ears dropping as his head was cast downward. He could easily keep track of those leading and thos following in the group so that he did not accidentally stray away...and it was a good thing that they had found an inn so fast..or maybe it was just luck that the portal ended up leaving them there. A yawn escaped him and he lifted up his head again just as they reached the door to the inn. Now..would it be smart to go in altogether as a group? Or maybe two or one at a time...that those who looked like they'd make a good pairing of either family or friends?

"Uhmm..are we going to go in altogether?"
Shadow murmured quietly should anyone overhear them from the inside. Then it occured to the group..they had eccentric names for people..they didn't want to stick out more than they did already.

Shadow then went into his own thoughts to think of a more...'human' name. There wasn't very many of those that he could remember of aquiantances in the old lab...and the scientist's names were never really spoken to them. He was stumped..though..there was a fellow that he had a vague, very vague memory of. What was his name...it started with an A..aon..aro...Aaron? Yeah, that was it...what an awful name the child thought.

"I guess...I can take the name Aaron for right now.."
Shadow said with a slight bit of discontent.

Shadow yawned and nodded, making note of the oldest one's new temporary name of 'John.' Going on ahead of him, the two of them came to an old wooden countertop where a surprised inn keeper looked at the two with a quirked brow. Indeed he did not recognize these two...they were not from this town. So..these were the visitor's that the Superior had already informed most of the town about.

"Welcome to the Inn. How can I help you boys?"
the man behind the counter said in a warm tone just as his wife came around a stairwell behind him.

Shadow wasn't about to say anything...he wasn't familiar with human traditions, so he left 'John' to speak, negotiate, or whatever it was these humans did. So they had been set up and assigned their rooms to sleep in, but the keeper and his wife had to prepare the rooms first, so they suggested that the two take a seat.

Shadow had decided to take the innkeeper's advice as he climbed up ont a chair and sat down, his feet hanging over the edge of the seat as they swung back and forth. Laying his head down contently, Shadow shut his eyes and soon drifted off into sleep right there on the table. It had only been a minute or so before the innkeeper's wife walked down the stairs to see the child sleeping. Sadly smiling to herself, the woman walked over to eht esleeping child and picked him up as he snoozed, not even waking up as he was picked up.

"I am sorry for what is going to happen..."
the woman whispered quietly as she began to walk back to the stair's with the 3 year old asleep in her arms.

She didn't realize what he looked like underneath that hood, and when she had finally settled him on a small bed she had prepared in the first room, she removed his hood and gasped into her palm. He...had horns...webbed ears..so many scars and fangs that were showing from his open mouth as he slept. She had to keep quiet...but this..this was so strange to see. The other man he had been with looked perfecly normal! So..why was he..like this? Now the woman was beginning to want Kira to come and claim her new specimen...the woman didn't feel comfortable around these people anymore.

So immediately the woman left the room to catch her husband right before he was going to descend down the stairs. Quietly she told him of what she saw and directed him into the room where the child was sleeping. The innkeeper was stunned himself to see such a child and these abnormalities...but that made him want to keep the group he had come with protected from Kira and her follower's grasp even more. Neither the innkeeper or his wife said anything to each other as his wife replaced the hood over his head, and after that they left downstairs to welcome the rest in.

Though, before the guards could make it completely upstairs, the innkeeper had slipped into one room and his wife the other, locking both doors behind them. With all the noise below, Shadow sat up and rubbed his eyes slightly as he yawned and looked at the innkeeper. He looked alarmed and concerned...then Shadow relized his hood had slipped off again. With a short gasp, Shadow pulled it back over his head wondering if that's wy he seemed startled...but the innkeeper shook his head as he looked between the three in this room.

"It's ok...you guys need to get out of here though!"
the innkeeper said in a hushed voice as he went over to Marrow and Mystery to shake them awake.
"..the Superior...she's here and her guards...they're coming for all of you!"
and just as soon as he had finished that sentence did a banging sound on the door.

Now the innkeeper's wife expression was quite grave and her face almost seemed flushed of all color as she knew what their consequence would be for aiding this odd stranger's their way out. She had come in a surprise just as Toyah was taking off her traveling cloak and she looked stunned as both the demoness and wife stared at each other. She had even move odd attributes about her than that little boy! And what was to say about those two brother's...their ears were obviously inhuman. She wanted sighed and held back her fear as she looked at the three.

"You..need to go. It's not safe here anymore....she knows you're here."
the woman said in a quiet voice as the demoness threw her cloak back on.
And now came the banging upon their locked door. They needed to get out, and they needed to get out now.

Shadow was at a loss at what to do next as his eyes immediately darted up to the cieling out of sheer habit, all in hopes of seeing a ventilation system to crawl into. Unfortunately...there was no central ventilation system...just a room a/c. Hearing the banging on the door caused the child to hiss in anxiety just as Marrow had picked him up. Everything was happening so fast Shadow felt a little light-headed just from getting picked up. Already they had to be disrupted just when they had gotten comfortable..just when they had settled into beds for the first time in such a long time. Shadow was indeed a little upset, but he couldn't think about it much as he soon felt like he was freefalling. Marrow had jumped, and Shadow's tiny claws clung onto Marrow's shirt so sure that he was going to get smushed by Marrow losing balance.

Oh, but they wouldn't get far as Kira's gaurds had already surrounded the building..and just to Marrow and Shadow's luck, they had landed right in-between two gaurds. Already they had their weapons pointed at Marrow as he limped away, but the guard who had been alongside the other with his gun raised reminded him that they were to be alive..not dead.

"...don't shoot to kill, or else we'll be taking their place!"
and instantaneously, every gaurd in the area soon circled and surrounded the limping 'John' with guns raised and ready to halt him even further by more injury to his legs..or better yet, by a simple tranquilizer shot or two. However..they couldn't exactly shoot tranqs at him enough to stop him due to the guard uniform he was wearing, so the two gaurds that were in front aimed at both of 'John's' knees and fired with their high powered guns.

Shadow growled and glared at the two guards as their weapons fired, he had never heard a gun fire..and so he was startled as he hissed again and jumped from Marrow's hold. Immediately Shadow bounded towards the two guards that had fired, and due to his small stature he wouldn't cause much damage to them. So he jumped up onto the torso of the guard on the left and clawed his way up the his head and began to claw and gnaw upon the guard's face, neck and shoulders. It didn't last long as he was picked off and thrown at the inn's outer walls viciously. Shadow felt a pang of pain coming from his back and two of his wings as well as the back of his head.

Growling angrily, and yet quietly Shadow faded in and out of a conscious state as he felt himself jerked up off the ground and dragged to the front of the inn. With his wavering vision, Shadow could make out the form of a cloaked woman standing there..was it the same woman who had found them in the alley?

"Here's that damn kid..and it looks like we got his gaurdian too."
the guard said as he held up Shadow by the neck of his hoodie to show for the Superior's approval.
Behind him the other guards were dragging 'John' along, one guard on each of his sides.

Shadow swung about, even with the pain in his back and a throbbing headache that was coming on, he was trying to kick and scratch at anyone who got close enough to him. That amused the woman as she nodded to the guard,

"At least this time you guys didn't kill them...now put them in the truck."
she instructed.

The guard nodded and proceeded to a heavily armored truck...one that were often used to transport prisoners, convicts and of the sort. Opening the heavy doors, the guards waited until they threw 'John' in before tossing the kid in since he had more of a chance to run out than the one who had his knees shot out. Once they were both inside, the guard closed the doors and shut it tight as they awaited the arrival of the other's.

Shadow whined as he weakly scratched at the metal door keeping him and 'John' inside. Already they were confined...and for what reason? It was already obvious what they were...would they be imprisoned for being different creatures? Well..obviously...humans probably weren't used to them..though they figured them out so quickly. It had to be that woman...maybe Mini informed her? That wasn't possible in the slightest. With a sigh, Shadow laid there on the cold floor of the armored truck, his three tails slipping out from underneath his hoodie. He was tired still..and then he remembered 'John'. Moving towards the unconscious 'John', Shadow looked at the wounds the guards had made upon his knees. It was a rather gruesome looking wound...

"I guess it wasn't a good idea to become human again..maybe you should have just stayed as a skeleton."
then is appeared as if 'John' was going to crack...he started to shout obsceneties and complain about how they would never get out of this on going predicament.
User Image
Shadow quirked a brow when it was apparent that 'John's' eyes began to well up with tears. He had never known the skeleton to cry..of course, then he didn't have tear ducts..or even eyes to let the tears fall out of. Slightly stunned, Shadow sat there next to 'John' his body very still. Blinking as he finally realized that 'John' was feeling extreme grief, Shadow spoke quietly,

"....that might not be true 'John'."
Shadow paused...what could he say to calm him down?

"..we did get out of the other lab...we can get out of this problem too."

The child couldn't say anything back to 'John' as he sulked..of course who wouldn't be such a terrible state such as that after getting their knees shot out? Shadow's tails curled close around him as he hugged his knees close, the silence so defeaning upon his webbed ears. Though as he layed his head to rest upon his knees, the sound of two doors jarring open caught his attention as his head perked up quickly as Shadow thought the back doors were the ones opening. However, to his dismay..they were only the doors to the front end of the vehicle.

Now he was starting to lose hope completely..there really wouldn't be a way out...Raven should have come...hell, everyone should have come with them. Maybe then they would have had a better chance of surviving in the world with those who seemed to have all the answers..with those who could have provided the best protection, with those who could have helped maintain the group. Needless to say..'John' wasn't a bad group leader for misfits...he was just human, the brother's could only do so much..they just needed more from the lab.

Now he wanted to cry again, Shadow started to sniff a little bit just as the vehicle he and Marrow were in began to shake as the engine started, and before he knew it, they were bouncing around in the back as the vehicle drove on though the town, passing Kira just as she was entering the front end of her car. The road they were taking was full of trees on either side, dead from the winter season as the storm that was coming onto the town began to turn to a flurry of snow. Of course 'John' and Shadow could not see anything behind those cold steel walls..although it did begin to get considerably colder in there. Shadow was able to see his breath again as it solidified in front of his face.

It seemed they had been traveling for less than 30 minutes before the vehicle came to a sudden stop as the muffled sound of opening gates came to his ears. Shadow perked his head up again as the vehicle started to move slowly again before coming to yet another stop just a few minutes later. The engine cut off and the sound of chains dragging on the ground immediately made Shadow get on guard. It was useless, he was easily caught and restrained by the guards.

The child had become frightened again as he ceased squirming now that he was seperated from the only person he knew. Again, Shadow wanted to break as he began to whimper lightly through the choking grip the guard carrying him had on him. He was so frightened as to what would happen next that he didn't bother to try and get free...where would he go even if he did? The next thing he knew they had gone through the front doors of this shabby building. There was so much junk everywhere that it left Shadow confused...was this really a lab?

His thoughts were answered as the guard arrived to an arrangement of crumpled and mishapened metal. Shadow could see what the guard did, but soon they were walking through a doorway that soon revealed the sterile white walls of this new dreadful place. Shadow's heart sank...he knew no one, and now he was stuck here. How long would he be stuck here before he finally died? At this stage of lost hope, Shadow's gaze was blank and distant until the guard shook him viciously.

"Hey you little b*****d...you better not be dead."
and Shadow immediately growled and began to move again as he was snapped back into his senses.

Shadow was terribly agitated and upset that he could just be carried around so easily. Somehow...the 3 year old child felt it was Raven's fault, he was the one who caused this reversion to take place...but the more Shadow thought, the more he saw that was the right thing to do at the moment. Raven surely could not have predicted this.

So the child continued one to squirm, though by now he was growing tired while the guard whistled an unfamiliar tune. Soon they came to an odd opening in the lab..something like a gathering room for new experiements, old ones, guards, and scientists. Perhaps this was the center of the entire lab area? Whatever this place was, Shadow easily caught sight of Marrow and another girl behind cage bars as scientists looked upon them and went on, some staying and conversating on a decision. It almost was if they were zoo animals of the sort. The guard and Shadow were soon passed by a gurney carrying a girl who just in a blink of an eye had gone nuts.

The area was quickly being scattered as everyone began to flee from the crazed experiment, and the guard with Shadow was no different. Luckily they weren't too far from an open room as the guard quickly slid into it. They staked it out in there for the quick seconds that took someone to stun the wild girl and restrain her properly. The guard regianed his composure and that's when his grip on Shadow was loose enough for him to run free himself. The child took it quickly as he pulled away from the guard and bolted out onto the room. He wouldn't cause much of an uproar..he was only a child that didn't have phenomenal powers.

Shadow scrambled around the mess of people and objects, desperately trying to find a way out as he switched back and forth between running on his feet and all fours. He could feel hands trying to grab him and could hear the heavy pounding of the guard's boots following after him in this center area. He tried to open his wings, but again came the stinging pain and the restraining hoodie keeping him from flying free. He passed by the cage where 'John' and another girl were being held, and slid on past the cage where the first loose experiment had been restrained in.

Huffing, Shadow soon find himself cornered as he scratched at the wall and then turned to see three guards, a scientist and an assistant onlooking as the guard who had been instructed to bring him to Kira was at the head of the group. He clutched at the wall and braced himself as he bared his tiny fangs and growled, his webbed ears flat against his head as his tail swayed from side to side angrily. No matter what he could do, however, he wasn't going to be able to defend himself for very long as he snapped and swiped at any hand that tried to reach for him. Shadow then tried to make a daring move to dash between the legs of those surrounding him, but his face was met with the end of the guard's rifle and his side connected with the steel toed boot of the same person.

He hit the corner, crumpled up as he glared angrily at the guard as he tried to move again, whimpering with every pang of pain he felt from the movement before he was kicked and hit again. Shadow wouldn't tire until he was finally beaten into a bloody mess and barely conscious. Dazed, Shadow barely felt himself getting picked up and dragged away as the guard resumed taking him to the Superior.

"All this trouble all of you damn freaks put us through isn't worth it."
the guard muttered darkly under his breath as they went down the hallway that would lead them to the Superior's personal lab.

Shadow was obviously too tired to keep on going with struggling, thrashing or trying to get free. He could only concentrate on trying to stay alert and conscious to face the new terros that would obviously be brought on. It didn't help now that the guard was simply dragging the child on by his tails...although the cool ground against his sore body was somewhat soothing. Before Shadow knew it, they had arrived to a simple sterile white door that had no handle, but a sort of identification pad.

The guard didn't bother with the pad as he knew he couldn't get past that..no one other than the scientist could. Not many other personal laboratories had this sort of security feature...so what Kira was planning could only make this guard even more skeptical about staying any longer. Something that would be taken to that extreme length to keep a secret would only go out of control, no doubt..and somehow this could was going to be the problem of it all..and all the other's they had entrapped in this underground hell hole. Picking up the kid by his tails so that he now dangled just a little lower below the guard's eye level, the guard shook his head as he knocked as hard as he could on the steel reinforced door of the Superior's lab.

There were no words, only the sound of locks unlocking and forcing apart as the reinforced door slowly slid open, but only to stop to leave a small enough space to slide Shadow on in as Kira stood in the view of the guard. Her amythyst eyes drifted down towards the tired and battered child as she gave a icy glare to the guard.

"There better be a good reason why he is like that since I didn't see him that way when you had first caught him..."
the scientist said in a sharp tone before taking the child by his tails, away from the guard. She didn't seem to treat him any better than the guard in the very least,

"Oh well..I don't need any words from you..I've got things to do. You're dismissed."
she said as she brought Shadow in and practically shut the door in the guards face. Incoherent words were muttered under the guards breath as he left the now dead end of the hallway.

Shadow didn't have much time to react as he was suddenly tossed, out of the blue, into an odd shaped container. It wasn't like the cages he was used to, there were no bars...the child saw that as the most obvious thing since he couldn't move to much. He had landed with his back against what appeared to be a wall..a curved one? With his tired gaze slowly observing this chamber he saw that there was a black opening. Now what was that...if he only knew what a one-sided window was. The inside was almost blindingly white and that was all that he could see. What kind of lab was he in? If only he could try to find a way to look out..but again he was too weak and now a very soft hiss reached his webbed ears.

His mind was so slow that he had no idea that a sleeping gas had been released, and immediately as well as almost peacefully did Shadow fall to sleep. Now that she knew the child could recover with sleep and that he wouldn't cause a small chase through her lab, she pressed a series of buttons outside of the circular shaped container as the door slid open quietly once the sleeping gas had disappated. Reaching in there, she pulled Shadow out and placed upon the ever so standard operating table. She bothered with no restraints as she was only going to take a minute to perform this procedure.

The Superior had apparently already prepared a syringe with a deep red colored liquid. It was a mixture tha would ultimately speed up his age for obvious reason...but it's effects weren't so dramatic. He would show signs of aging progressively rather than through one clear shot as she had planned for particular reasons. Before she could go on, she rolled the sleeve up on Shadow's left arm as she tried finding the main artery. Upon finding it she inserted the needle through to the vein and injected him with the mixture. Shadow didn't stir in the slightest...rather, he seemed even more in a deeper sleep once that mixture was pumping through his body.

So now the Superior placed Shadow back into his circular cage as she prepared for the next stage once he woke up....

Shadow layed there on the curved ground of his oval shaped container cage motionless, his breathing deep and relaxed as the aging elixer had already begun to take it's effect. Slowly as Shadow slept, it was apparent that he was growing little by little. His hoodie was beginning to ride up further on his arms as it started to become to small for him as well as growing tighter as his wings grew along with him. There was no definition to his muscular structure yet, of course he was still a child of about what appeared to be 6 to 8 years of age. Becoming a little uncomfortable with breathing due to the tightening of the collar of his hoodie, Shadow finally began to stir as he stretch his arms and began to stretch his wings before he realized he couldn't move them much.

Still very hazy from the sleeping gas, Shadow laid there again for a few more minutes as he know felt numb in all of his limbs. Did his cage seem just a little...smaller now? He couldn't recall what had just happened past getting beaten for trying to escape...then there was that woman...and then this shell, and that's when everything went black. Sitting up now, Shadow had to prop himself up against the curved wall as his head was spinning and pounding. He couldn't see that his wounds were merely light, almost faded bruises that barely covered his body...though he definately felt quite a bit more rested and energized than before. Though the rush of growth for the child left him even too disorientated to realize the door that enclosed him in this odd shell was starting to open.
Already she was ready for Shadow's second stage of her drawn out experiment as she stood within the doorway of his container.

"Good morning...looks like you went through a growth spurt."

She jeered as Shadow looked at her with a disorientated hate as he struggled to get up and attack her.

He was so wobbly though, and he couldn't keep his balance for more than two seconds before falling back down. He was starting to slowly realize that his clothing was fitting a little smaller and tighter than before, but he still didn't know what she had done as he felt himself getting pulled back out of his contained by her before getting picked up by something cold. Robotic arms had reached in from a strange gadget that hung over her lab and had pulled him out, setting him back out onto the table he had been placed on before. Now he was slowly becoming able to move and see straighter, and he had aged quite abit..hadn't he? Aside from his wings growing in length, his devil horns had as well, his tails, and his claws were longer too.

Indeed he was beginning to get unsettled and upset as he was restrained as so many times before while she had moved behind a desk and a computer screen, the clicking of the keys hitting him amost like a slap in the face as he could only imagine what would happen now. Growling lightly as he pulled against the restraints, Shadow saw, among many other mechanical gadgets such as arms and countless amounts of wires, spear like objects and what not as a strange gadget from above began to shift and move. What it looked like was almost like a cross beteen every pointed instrument he had seen in the other laboratory where he had been raised, only they were all concentrated in the center of a disk. Coming closer, Shadow thought it was going to be driven right through him, but it stopped right above his chest...hovering there ominously. Shadow stayed still for the fear of moving just right and piercing himself with those sharp needles and spears.
"Now..I'm sure you see this little gadget. Well, let's just say by the time you're about..14 or 16, you will get to see how this machine works, but if you start acting up I'll use it now though...for now we will be sticking to concentrated doses and syringes. Ready kiddo?"

she sneered again as she began to type away commands before finally moving out from behind the computer and desk as she walked over to this contraption over his chest. Shadow hissed and growled at her as he tried to get one of his wrists free by wrenching it out of the cuff, but they were too tight around them.

"I will keep this promise...I will kill you..."

Shadow snarled in his still childish voice, which did sound pretty silly.
It made her giggle slightly as she placed her hands on either side of the machine and shook her head,

"Already you talk about killing..and you were only 3 when we got a hold of you, correct? Oh well...it just aids me all the better in getting this experiment to become a success...of course, if you survive it."

she answered back as she placed her hand on Shadow's head, running her fingers through his hair as her free hand fell upon a syringe Shadow had failed to see waiting on the operating table. It contained a strange blue and black colored liquid that appeared like it was glowing. Shadow stopped and looked at the syringe as she waved it in front of his face. He didn't know what to make of it...

"This is what could change everything for my favor..now it's just up to you and your will to live...you'd better survive...it is awfully difficult to create into this compounded liquid."

she said just as she stuck the needle into his arm,

"Here goes nothing..."

And with that remark, she injected the liquid slowly into the child as he immediately reacted to the mixture. Shadow's eyes welled up as he took in a deep heave from the frigid cold liquid as it was pumped through his veins. His body felt like it was going to freeze, it was painful as his body tried to heat back up..but to no avail as a pang of wrenching pain came to his chest. All of a sudden, the cold wasn't so bad as the pain continued on only getting worse with every second as he felt like his heart would just collapse from the pressure that was being exerted onto it. He gritted his teeth, pulled and writhed there in the restraints as the process continued. Finally the child shouted in pain as he felt his wings beginning to sting.

"Damnit..what did you..do?"

Shadow hissed as the robotic arms grabbed onto him again as she undid the restraints with a smirk,

"..you will see soon enough child."

she remarked as the robotic arms held tight onto Shadow as he continued to struggle and writhe, shouting and screaming at the mere touch and movement of his still adjusting form. Before Shadow knew it, he was once again trapped in the oval shaped container as his head was pounding, his chest feeling like it was about to collapse and still very very cold, though he was dripping sweat. Shadow shouted and hissed as his claws scratched at all sides just trying to grip on something to ease his pain. Of course, on the outside of the cage she could not hear a thing, nor did she care to hear anything as she continued on, getting ready for the next injection and other things for the child and this laboratory. While Shadow writhed, she was thinking...perhaps the riffraff they had brought in could interact with each other at each interval just to see what the effects upon the personality of each would be and just what steps she would have to take to correct a wrong behavior.

"...I really don't want anyone to be able to duplicate what I am doing...though....he isn't showing any signs that I would think. Perhaps it wasn't potent enough.."

she muttered to herself with a sigh as she sat down in her executive style chair, facing a much larger screen full of different images, the stem of her research and creation of her experimentation as she continued to think to herself, letting Shadow get over his pain..if he was able to.

Indeed he had stopped writhing and was now just laying still as he was heaving and covered in a cold sweat. A few shouts and growls erupted here and there, but he was starting to become numb and light-headed as the pain in his wings continued to get worse. So In attempts to ease that pain some as he adjusted to the rest of these aches, Shadow turned onto his stomach and started to pull off his small hoodie. It took a couple of minutes as he had to pause frequently, but eventually he got if off and tossed the hoodie aside. If only he could see what was beginning to happen to his wings...they looked almost as if a very strong acid had been poured onto them. Pieces of the flesh was bare and bleeding..the site was plainly grotesque as there were holes in the wings, feathers falling off and covered in blood.

Shadow reached one of his clawed hands and warily felt one of his wings before retracting it in hissing in pain. Bringing his clawed hand to his face, Shadow was able to see his own blood upon his fingertips as the smell of his own blood began to fill up the chamber. Were his wings melting off? What more could happen now? What worse scenario could befall him now? He wouldn't be able to think on that further as the child started to black out...maybe from all the blood he was losing, his extreme temperature drop...or just from the ordeal of it all, he was out like a light within the following few minutes.

To be continued..

Take my hand and walk with me right into insanity.

-=Azmodeus' Encounters=-

Kita- I never thought that I could have considerd someone so high, so close..and so valuable to myself more than..myself. Even though our time together was short..it became something entirely twisted, and dare I say...euphoric? Nothing I could say, no way could I describe just how much and how closely I feel about this female..about Kita. It happened quite suddenly, and I would not take back a second of our new unholy and dark union. Captivating and able to feed my desire for power..for possessiveness..just for everything, I will not let her go, I will not let her slip into another's arms...and I will not stop to keep her as mine for the rest of our eternal lives. Anyone want to dare take Kita from me? Go ahead and try...just make sure you've got the strength to fight me away because only one of us will be coming out alive...

My Fellow Demons
----------------------------------

The Bearable..
----------------------------------

To Short to Call
----------------------------------

Svorak- Her dark appearance was able to capture my attention...but I have yet to see if this being has a mindset that is even close to par with my own.

The Intolerable
----------------------------------

Joey- There could not be a more fearful little being as this one. Just how much he shivered upon just meeting me..as small as I am...was still frightening to him! Fear is annoyance...and I do not take well to those so easily frightened. Maybe he will shape up, and maybe even then...I will still loathe every fiber of this sad little creature. You are warned.

Lilith- I dispise every fiber of this succubus, she had the gall to speak to me like I was a child. Also, her interest in Eclipse is very well misplaced...I have no idea what happened between the two, or why Eclipse and the succubus has such a close bond. Though I can guess...I can guess my fool of a 'sister' played into her hands. Or perhaps she knows what she is doing...either way...this Lilith, I loathe.

Sundarii- Perhaps I dislike her because of her relation to Joey...or maybe it's because of how much she absolutely annoys me while I am trying to relax. Constantly pinching or poking my cheeks like I am still but a child. A personality change had come over her..or perhaps it was just a too short encounter to call since she had the gall to threaten me..but now she seems hooked on messing around with me. Much like a child herself...her mentality and mannerisms disgust me...

Azaelia- Too childish in general...and quite bothersome, like the child she died as. I don't expect her to change much..and more than likely I wouldn't enjoy her mere presence for the remainder of this life.

Joachim- As much as it had all started out as a game..the stupid little fool took things far too seriously. Unable to understand that nothing had truly happened the way he was percieving it even with countless warnings...he has pushed himself down to the very bottom, no longer a bearable creature but a stupid little cretin that will have my everlasting hatred. Oh little vampire...even though you've grown, I will beat your a** down with very little effort.

Riku- From the very start, as deep as roots go between my origin and everything he stands against...I would be unable to ever see eye to eye with this little fool.

Haruk-Hardly ever seeing this joke of a ghostling around, it wasn't until I finally was able to see this drunken thing messing around with Kita, my Kita...or rather perhaps the other way around, but this little fellow began to act upon it with little effort either way. I am watching you drunkard..and your fate will follow the same as Joachim's.

Howl- Having seen this odd one float in and out from time to time in this world, he was nothing to look at or to be given any sort of notice. But since my Kita has the habit of flirting and teasing many of the other males, even if some of them are homosexuals, this weak little bird had the gall to begin to act upon the flirting Kita had been throwing at him. Although he appears to be intelligent enough to know his place...I am watching you as well...waiting for you to slip off before I strip you of your pride.

Adriel- Oh this little fey I've disliked from the very beginning, perhaps because of the false front he puts up in order to gain sympathy in his favor...even as see-through as that is, as well as the time he had the gall to lay his lips on me. That will never be forgiven...as well as the fact he dared to drink the blood of MY MATE unprovoked. Although he doesn't play into her hands as easily as many of the other's do...I'd no sooner strangle you the minute I see a drop of Kita's blood fall on your tongue.
