Customizations: Bases
Customer: I want my avatar made into a bald base wearing only the default undies. How much? Meriko: Freebie. Customer: How much to recolor the underwear? Meriko: Freebie. A tip would be appreciated.
Customer: I want my avatar to have one of your wigs on, but no clothing except for the default underwear. How much? Meriko: The cost of the wig, whether it's a regular (100) or a re-color (150). Be sure you've reviewed the wig-wearing base terms of use in the FAQ. Customer: And if I want custom colored undies? How much for that? Meriko: Freebie. A tip would be appreciated.
Customizations: Recoloring
Customer: I want a premade edit but I want it in a different color than the shop sample. How much? Meriko: The cost of the edit plus 100 gold to re-color. Customer: Is it 100 gold for any re-color? Meriko: Wigs are only an additional 50 gold to re-color. Also, if there's a dramatic light/dark shift, such as changing black to pastel, I would appreciate a tip.
Customizations: Frankensteining
Customer: I want to combine parts of a few different edits. How much? Meriko: Take the cost of the main edit (usually 250) and then add 100 gold for a little bit of "Frankensteining." Pulling components from two or three other sets is usually pretty simple. Customer: ...what if I want to pull components from five different edits and also do some recoloring? Meriko: That will be a pain in the butt. I'd appreciate a tip.
Customizations: Drunken Edits
Customer: What's a Drunken Edit? Meriko: A Drunken Edit is a Frankenstein edit that accidentally ate a chunk of crack, thinking it was a breath mint. It's hard to explain, and even harder to put together. They're 1,000 gold each and I'd appreciate it if you'd let me put some text on there that sort of explains that I don't do these kind of edits because I think they look good. ^^;
When ordering, please just say that you want a drunken edit and leave all details up to the editor, since only Kimini and Meriko know what pieces can be easily removed from the original edit and which edits have similar shading styles and will look decent even when mixed all together in this crazy manner.

Note: Wherever it mentions a tip being appreciated, it just means it would be appreciated. I will not be angry if you don't tip me.
These notes and samples are meant as a guide. If you're still not sure how much your custom edit order will cost and would like an exact quote, just say so in your order and I will quote you a specific price. If you don't like the price I quote you, you can cancel the order (you must be a member of the guild to be able to edit your own posts).
If you don't get a price quote from me and you over-estimate the cost of your edit when ordering, I will send back some of the gold when I confirm the trade. If you under-estimate the cost of your edit when ordering I will probably just shrug it off. Try not to rip me off too badly. ;3
Customs: Wigs
Customer: How much to make a custom wig? Meriko: 250 gold, regardless of style/complexity. Customer: What if I want to "reserve" it so that no one else can have the exact same wig? Meriko: 500 gold for most wigs. If it's really long, curly, has many different sections, is braided, or otherwise looks like it will take more work than most of the wigs already in the shop, take it up to 1,000 gold. The Padme wig, for instance, was a pain in the butt.
Customs: Pricing Guide
Customer: I want a custom edit. How much? Meriko: Once again, I must refer to the "pain in the butt" factor. The more layers, details, colors, and parts there are, the more expensive it will be.
Small Potatoes: 500 gold. A custom edit in this category is usually either minimal or simple. Examples of minimal (i.e., not-whole-body) would be a premade wedding gown but with custom drawn sleeves, the addition of a sniper rifle to the FFBC Female Turk edit, a request to turn a regular outfit into a maternity outfit, and things like that. Examples of simple would be a request for a one piece dress made of unpatterned fabric, with earrings and shoes that could simply be taken from premade edits and recolored to match.
Low Range: 1,000 gold. A custom edit in this category is usually a complete costume but not quite detailed enough to warrant the usual 2,000 gold price tag. If a costume is lacking in any fine detail (fine = 1 to 3 pixels wide) and is fairly simple overall (few components/layers) then it probably falls within this category.
Mid Range: 2,000 gold. This is the price bracket that I quote most custom edits in. So long as an edit does not have a significant amount of small detail (buttons, lacing, edging), intricate patterns, or layering, it should fall within this category.
High Range: 3,000 gold. A lot of small components (accessories/armor) or details (frills/patterns) can push a mid range custom edit into the next price bracket. The smaller a detail is, the harder it is for me to make it look like it's supposed to. Piling on extras like hair and headdresses, wings and weapons, will also do the trick.
You Make Meri Cry: 5,000 gold or a Thank You Letter. Minimum. If you're afraid to bring me the request for fear that I'll shout, "ARE YOU CRAZY?!" then this is probably the price bracket you'll be dealing with. Head-to-toe wall-to-wall editing with patterns and ribbons and lacework galore. A "scene" edit where the only thing remaining of your original avatar will be the eyes. Stuff like that.
Customs: Reserving
Customer: I want to "reserve" a custom edit. How much? Meriko: Usually somewhere between 0 to 10,000 gold. Depending on what and whim, the price can land pretty much anywhere, but here are a few general pricing landmarks.
Freebie: An example of a freebie reserve request is if the edit is of a completely original character of yours that was easy to do or that I think would not be wanted by anyone else anyway. If I don't forsee any extra work required of me based on the fact that I can not re-sell an edit, I won't charge to reserve it.
5,000 gold: An example of a 5,000 gold reserve request is if the edit is of an original character of yours that was a mid range edit and/or I think would be wanted by someone else. If I have to pixel the same sort of thing twice when I could have only pixelled it once, and furthermore have to take pains to make sure the two are not too similar, I'm going to want a significant amount of compensation.
10,000 gold: An example of a 10,000 gold reserve request is if the edit is of a published/popular character. Dimes gets you dollars that someone else is going to want a cosplay of that character, so I'll have to make your reserved cosplay unique in some way. I can't change the design of the character, so we're probably looking at a body re-pose. Pain in the butt.
