Calesto Mountain Calesto Mountain is actually a dormant volcano. Within it lives the dragons of the Fire Clan and the phoenixes. The phoenixes retain the ability to be reborn immediately after death so long as they die on or within the mountain. Because the volcano has been dormant for so long, sparse vegetation and wildlife have had time to grow and thrive on the mountainside. However, it may often be necessary for a dragon to leave the mountain if he wants to hunt his fill.
The phoenixes and the Fire Clan dragons actually nest above the magma pool inside the mountain. Very little can survive at such high temperatures, but that's what keeps them safe from outsider attacks. The fire dragons can survive a quick dip into the magma pool, and the phoenixes periodically bathe in it, but that wouldn't lead to a good end with any other creatures.

Norgad climbs out onto his perch overlooking the lava pool, and lets out roar, calling for attention from the rest of the Fire Clan.
"I'd like to remind a few people of our laws, as it seems some of us have forgotten the basics."
Norgad eyes one of the younger adult dragons before continuing on.
"Firstly, protect the young, but do not shelter them. While they may not be able to fully protect themselves, it does the Fire Clan no good to have adults who run from winable fights.
Secondly, protect and shelter the phoenixes. Their power is connected to Mt. Calesto. We must protect our home as it protects us.
Do not bring unnecessary ire against the Fire Clan. Yes, we are a potent force, but even the mightiest animal can be felled by enough ants.
Which brings me to my next point. While it is not a law, exactly, I strongly suggest accepting any rogues looking for a home, provided that they can be trusted, and survive our home.
If all that is too much for you to remember, just use your common sense.
On a lighter note, I will be hosting a casual hunting competition of sorts. Whoever can bring me the most impressive, and most intact, game in a week's time ((OOC: February 2nd Whenever a week has passed in game. My bad.)) will receive a prize. Good luck, and happy hunting."
Norgad dives into the lava from his perch, quickly soaring back up and out of the volcano toward Calesto Hotsprings.

Raze awoke from his mighty leader’s roar, as the morning announcements were made. He crawled his way near the front of the chamber as Norgad spoke. He admired his leader more than any of the other Fire Dragons. Raze didn’t care much about the others, so long as his leader didn’t look down upon him as someone weak. Raze grinned hearing about strong Dragons. It made him sick to see some of the younglings appear so weak and helpless. Sometimes he even helped make them stronger and have no fear for any foe.
A flutter was in his chest as he heard of the Hunting Competition. Raze loved competitions, and liked to think he could be the best; though Raze was a bit cocky in that sense. As soon as Norgad finished his announcements, Raze stood up to follow him to the Hotsprings.
“Norgad, my Lord. What of the Water Dragons?” Raze edged, secretly trying to pick a fight at a foe he sought to be a bit…’challenging.’ “My sources say they are plotting an attack on the southern side of the Volcano. Something about a tsunami of sorts.” His tail wagged slightly, eager to hear Norgad’s opinions on Raze’s favorite topic—Violence.

Norgad directed his flight path directly for the hot springs, gliding lazily along as he contemplated Raze's words.
"I know you're eager to prove yourself, Raze, and believe me; I'd have you on my side of a battle any day of the week... but there doesn't always have to be a battle. That being said, we should prepare ourselves, in case your sources are correct. I'll go speak with the Light and Earth clans, as a tsunami would harm their lower lands even more than our mountain. While I'm gone, you collect some sort of proof that the Water dragons are up to no good. I'll not be made the villain to an entire clan based solely on hearsay. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I see breakfast."
Norgad flapped his large wings, shaking the cooled lava from his body as he went into a slow loop the loop. The rock debris arched skyward, stopped, and fell toward a lone buck drinking from the springs. The sudden rain of stone disoriented the buck just as Norgad ended his loop, snatching the buck up in his maw.
He ascended and continued on toward the Crystal Meadows, chewing contently along the way.

Raze stood near the edge of a stone at the Hotsprings. His mighty jaw tightened as Norgad’s words stung him slightly. His claws sank and clenched the rock crunching it into sand, though was discrete enough not to let anyone around him know he was slightly irritated by it. Raze looked to the south where the Waters shored on their warm land. His red orbs squinted at the enemy ahead. Raze knew just where to get his source to correct and confirm this information.
He spread his great wings and took a big flap off the cliff’s edge. He let himself freefall for just a moment, feeling the warm air brush his marble hard scales; then opened his wings and caught the air under them. He took off towards the south where the shores lay; looking for Jevith.

Flicker awoke to Norgad roar for the announcements to begin that morning. She stared up at the elder dragon, and smirked as he looked down at her as one of those who has "forgotten the basics." Though she'd never forget them, she knew he was really trying to get her to get her shape together.
As he went through the pointers of the announcements, Flicker found that none were realyl directed towards her. She rarely even touched the young, let alone be near when protection was needed, and always fought the fights regardless. She respected the Phoenixes, and when they were in trouble, stood her ground and fought.
She paused in her thinking process, trying to figure out what exactly ire meant... Fighting maybe? It made sense here. Maybe hate, she didn't know. So no pranking other clans, right. Rougues... she hadn't seen any for quite a while. But if I see any, I'll talk to them, she promised herself and Norgad in her head.
Her head lifted when he mentioned a hunting competition. That sounded fun, no doubt. She'd try it. Flicker dove over the edge after Norgad had, and soared up out of the volcano, though not going in the same direction as Norgad and Raze did. Instead, Flicker flew more to the south than either of the other two. More towards the swamps, as that was one of the places in which she spent most of her time.
