Rosalind was walking down the main walkway of the large mall, looking back and forth trying to find a baby clothing store. The little one in her arms could only go for so long wearing over sized shirts. Even now he was wearing one of her coats. All of him was wrapped up in the long, soft material while one of the sleeves was being used by the eel tail as a way to see what was going on outside of the coat.

Hector's ears were turning forward and backward, enjoying how well he could hear everything that was going on around him. He was snuggled down in a coat of rich materials and was enjoying the warmth that came from the coat and from the woman carrying him. Rosalind was her name, she was so nice to him and so were the other women who worked with her.

He gave a purring sound, his yellows eyes going quite wide as they passed by a small store that was full of bright colors and stuffed animals. The tail gave a hissing sound reaching toward the store in a manner that got Rosa's attention as the tail brush against her, giving her a little shock.

"Huh? Oh." She turned to look in the large windows, "Maybe after we get you some clothing we can back here." Though how they were supposed to fit his clothing when he had so many arms was beyond her. She had a feeling it would take a bit of modification so he could wear them.

Hector and his tail both seemed to be pouting over not being able to get a stuffed animal to play with. He wiggled his arms free of his coat-blanket to try to climb up Rosa as they started to walk away from the toy store.

Elegy has her face pressed up against the glass of the toy store, absolutely entranced by the circling of an electric train. She appears to be alone; that is, she believes she has sneakily lost her brother and mother. Her bow-decorated tail swishes as she makes an elongated cooing noise of approval as the toy passes by her face again. And again it keeps on going, through that tunnel! Brilliant!

The little girl, easily lost amongst the legs of many passerbys, weaves in and out of said customers legs until she gets what she's looking for; someone's holding open the heavy and intricately designed door of the store. Why a toy store must have a door, never mind one so lavish, is beyond comprehension. The door is open now, and it means her passageway to lots and lots of FUN.

The only foil to her plan is that the door swings shut too soon. Not because she wasn't ready to dart in, or because someone rudely shut it on her, or even because the damn thing is heavy and often hits people in the behind if they aren't swiftly through it. No, it is simply because the girl is distracted once again by something she finds fascinating, and this time it's an eel.

Clasping her hands together in delight, the toddler dashes forward to trail her new fascination.

Hector's eyes were on the shop while the eel in the sleeve slithered around Rosa to look in that direction as well. This wasn't any fun... that shop looked so interesting, all sorts of bright colors, pretty things, and he just wanted to get his many hands on some of those animals! The young boy continued to wiggle in his guardian's arms, until he was hanging over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Two hands held onto her shoulder while the scaled hands reached out toward the toys making grasping motions.

The tail strained and struggled to get in that direction as well though only got itself tangled in the sleeve of the coat and having gone around Rosa in a different direction the Hector made a possible escape impossible. The tail paused in its struggle when it noticed that something small was following after them. It blinked its blue eyes then gave her a toothy smile, giving a hissing sound at her of greeting.

Rosa didn't notice the one following them at the moment, instead all of her attention was on her boy and doing her best to keep him from tumbling off her shoulder.

Elly lets out a happy squeal as she's greeted by the eel. Animals are much, much more interesting than toys to her; in fact, they pretty much ARE her toys, unfortunately for them. For the moment, Elegy is unaware that this one is attached to and otherwise owned by someone else, as she can see, from her angle, little more than the eel and dozens of legs. Her poor range of hearing lends itself only so far as to catch the tail end of the hiss.

She waves enthusiastically at it, and her walk transforms more into a skip. Fun fun fun. She's never seen a pretty, glowy eel, never in person! An avid watcher of the discovery channel, the little ball of energy can barely sit still when learning about a new species. And now it's her chance to observe a real one in the wild!

"Like the crockerdile hunter!" she exclaims aloud, not realizing the miscommunication between her mouth and her thoughts, as she often does. She skips just a little faster to keep up with The Thing That Carries The Eel.

Hector gave a sighing sound, crossing his arms on her shoulder and then rested his head on them. The toy store was out of sight soon enough and he found himself looking in the direction that his tail was. His ears turned forward and his eyes widened a little as he spotted a small form following along after him. He gave a grin showing lots of sharp teeth and reached two hands out toward her, making grasping motions.

He pulled one way, the tail pulled the other way, and Rosalind had to pause to attempt to untangle herself from them, "Alright you two, calm down now." She said, "We will go back to that store soon enough." She had to keep in mind that young children would be happier to look through a toy store then a clothing store.

She gave a sound of relief when she was able to get the pair situated again, then looked down at the one who had just spoke. The voice belonged to a small girl that seemed to have been following along behind her, "Hello there Little One." She greeted her, wondering if she had gotten herself lost.

"Hi!" Elly says, first to the one with the sharp teeth, and then, a little more startled that the adult had stopped, she continues with, "Hi! Hi hi. You got an EEL."

She seems very happy with herself to have finally pointed it out. "Did you, did you know what eels like that, got elecktisity in'm?" She rocks back and forth on her heels and toes, and tucks her hands into the pockets of her jumper. She had left her poofy winter jacket on her stroller, thank goodness.

Tilting her head just slightly to match the angle of the eel's, she beams admiringly at it. This endearing smile is turned, too, onto Hector, and even as she looks between the two, she still doesn't seem to be putting it together that they're one in the same.

Rosa looked down at Hector's tail before giving a nod of her head, "Yes, though I guess to be honest its Hector's eel more then it is mine." She explained, kneeling down so that Hector was more at the girl's level so he would stop squirming and attempt to escape from her grasp. At least this way if he some how freed himself he was pretty close to the ground.

Both Hector and the eel tail seemed quite pleased when they were lowered down to the right level where they could really see the girl in front of them. Hector immediately set to purring, something that came unconsciously from him when he was pleased with something.

The eel used the opportunity to get get a bit closer to her as well, stretching out as far as it could.

Rosa gave a little chuckle at the girl's words, "Yeah, I've gotten a couple shocks already myself from it." The girl was pretty knowledgeable about animals wasn't she? That impressed the pale skinned woman greatly.

Elly resists the urge to hug the boy in greeting right away (the holiday season was full of that, and she realized then just how much fun it was. Most people don't share that opinion, she's come to find.) But it isn't discomfort that strays her from her usual behaviourism; rather, she just wants a better look at the eel, first!

Her tail swishes behind her, the thin tip before the poof of fur decorated with a large bow that helps the sound greatly. She runs happily in a circle around Hector, before clasping her hands over her mouth to stop from squealing. It's PART of him! How delightful! How wonderful! The most fascinating thing she's seen all day!

She can't take it. She lowers her hands and lets out a rambling, run on sentence with lots of gasps for breath and her usual stammering. "Your eel! It's you and eel! I have a wacoon and a plattypus and a, and a froggy, but you got, got an eel and it's you and you kind look like a kitty too I love kitties can you, can you purr some more, please?"

Rosa gave a soft laugh, finding the girl's reaction to be both adorable and amusing at the same time.

Hector and his tail both watched her as she ran around them, neither blinking as though they didn't want to miss anything. She was an interesting girl, excited and energetic. It got the boy clapping all of his hands in delight at her antics. His ears turned forward at her request seeming to be unable to purr on command, so instead he reached all his hands out toward her again grasping at her, trying to get closer so that he could give her a hug.

"Careful now." Rosa said, letting him slid out of her arms to his own feet and then plopped down onto his backside. His tail was able to dodge quick enough that it didn't get sat on and moved around Hector finding it was now close enough to nudge the girl. Given it seemed to be content at the moment it didn't give off a shock when it touched her, doing that the most often when it was upset or overly excited about things.

"His name is Hector." Rosalind introduced her son to the little girl, "My name is Rosa." She found herself looking down at the tail, "And that is Hector's tail... Hmm.. it probably needs a name too." She would decide upon one when she got home. As it seemed to have a personality of its own it would need a better name then 'Hector's Tail' to go with it.

A hug, a hug! Elly's heart leaps in her chest. A voluntary hug is one of those things you really truly cherish. And Hector's simple offer, made more enormous to her by the amount of arms he has, is something that causes her to spill over with jittery happiness. She seems to have forgotten all about that stupid shop with the heavy door and toy train, for she has found an even better treasure!

"Hi, hi Hector! Rosa! An' Hector's eely!" She makes sure to wave to each one, twisting all around on the spot. "I'm Elly! And this is my tail!"

She pulls her own tail, faceless as it is, around to her middle, where it falls to rest in the crook of her arm, the main fluff tickling her elbow. She pats it fondly. When though it doesn't do much else in return, she instantly turns her attention back to her new best friends.

"Where're you going? Issit somewhere fun?" she inquires sweetly, keeping close proximity to Hector in case he purrs again, something she finds utterly adorable.

Hector was quite pleased by the hug, snuggling against his new found friend with all of his arms and even his tail wrapped around her for the length of the hug. It was a nice feel that caused another bout of purring to come from his throat while they were snuggled against each other. When the hug end his purring slowed and then halted. His tall ears turned toward her, taking in her greeting and her nail, eyes lowering to her tail when she showed it off.

He found it strange, so far he'd not seen a single person with a tail like his, one that had eyes on it or a mouth on it. He reached out one of the arms that had the fins on it and patted her tail in a sort of greeting.

Rosalind looked in the direction they had been heading and gave a little laugh, "We were going to find Hector something to wear, hes been wearing my shirts for the passed few days while we were getting to know each other but... they are far to big for him." Not to mention they were girly shirts, not exactly child proof, and made from expensive materials that were easily shredded by sharp claws and teeth, "After that we were planning on going to the toy store, what about you?"

Maybe if she knew where Elly was headed she would know if the girl were lost or not.
