Epona licked her lips as she swallowed her last mouthful. The water from this stream had given her back the energy she had burnt up to get here. Rejuvinated she got ready to continue with her way. She trotted at a distance from the stream and then turned around. Instantly her speed went up and she ran towards the stream. She galloped over it, her paws hitting against the ground, and she was speeding off in a new direction again.

Ambros sighed slowly padding along the forest flower, he could hear the slow trickle of a stream nearby. He glanced about nervously in case there were any monsters lurking in the bushes, boy did he hate monsters, they were so scary and mean. He shook with fear just at the thought, monsters even in his mind terrified him. He brushed past a tree and almost jumped because he was so startled, he let out a sigh of relief, "o-only a tree..." He looked around cautiously, he could hear footfalls in the distance, "oh no... I hope its not a monster!" he said scrambling about.

Epona looked around as she ran. She was going at a medium pace, not too quick but not too slow. She wondered to herself, and this was one of the first times, where she would be heading today. She wondered where her strong legs would bring her when the sun was down. She kept running in her path steadily.

Ambros ran about in a panic as he searched for a hiding spot. "O-oh no, oh no!" he said to himself as he circled a tree, scanning it for a hole to hide in, but there was no such luck. He frowned and ran past it, tripping over one of the roots, and he toppled over landing right in front of the creature he had heard running, he briefly gazed upon it and was horrified despite the fact he hadn't even gotten a good look, "m-monster!" he called covering his head, hoping he wouldn't be squished by the monster's stampede as he heard the loud footfalls of its steady run.

With a sudden shock, and a burst of her bubble she stopped. She almost tripped over her own legs, yelping. She stood there a bit shaken and she looked at the child she had almost run over. She sighed with relief and drop of smile appeared on her face. "Monster?" She pondered. She was a monster? Impossible...

Ambros quivered, shaking with fear as he let out a sigh of relief that he hadn't been crushed. He peeked out and frowned, the monster looked sort of like a dragonfly, but it was so... weird looking, it had some sort of strange doodad on it's back. The young dragonfly sat up and looked at the dragonfly worriedly, "o-oh your n-not a monster really are you?" he tilted his head and furrowed his brow. Slowly he stood up, contemplating whether or not this dragonfly was as scary as it looked.

Epona looked at the little dragonfly curiously. She had never met such a nervous dragonfly. She still had her subtle smile on as she took a step closer. She shook her head as Ambros asked if she really was a monster. She asked him, "Is everything alright?" She was not sure if perhaps she had harmed him or if he was hurt at all.

Ambros frowned, she was moving closer, and he wasn't sure if she acted like a monster like he thought she looked. He slowly took a step back nodding as he shook her head, "n-not a monster..." he glanced to the side and shrugged, "I-I'm not h-hurt" he said shaking, he was still sort of scared of this strange dragonfly, just because she seemed nice didn't mean she wasn't a monster underneath. She could just be pretending to be nice and in reality be trying to eat him of some other strange thing that he didn't want to happen.

Epona's curious look was starting to lighten up. She saw in the child a familiar expression. Not the one of torment and fear, but the nervous child she once remembered. She started sat down right infront of him and asked him, "If you are not hurt then why do you look so fragile?" He reminded her of herself aswell, she did consider herself rather fragile.

Ambros frowned, wondering why this dragonfly was so interested, why she was looking so intently like she saw something he didn't. "F-fragile? I'm not fragile," he stood up straighter, fragile was something for girls to be, not him. He could only imagine how much he would be made fun of if someone his age knew he had been called fragile, "why do you think i l-look fragile?" he shook slightly fearing that someone he knew might be watching or that a monster might be waiting, hidden in the bushes.

Epona started smiling a little bit more. She wondered what could make this pup so frightened to be frightened. She took a breath and looked at Ambros, "Fragile... I thought so because you looked like it in your eyes, like you had been hurt or had witnessed atrocities." She smiled, shaking off a small feeling of guilt coming over her. "I doubt you are fragile though..."

Ambros tilted his head, this dragonfly was so confusing he wasn't sure what to do. "I look fragile in my eyes?" he raised an eyebrow, what weird thing, but he didnt want to look fragile at all and so he closed his eyes so she wouldn't be able to see if he looked fragile anymore. "I don't think I've w-witnessed any a-atrocites..."he frowned and closed his eyes tighter, though he wanted to look. At her words he snorted, "m-maybe a little..." he shrugged, "but that's ok... I guess."

Epona was sure the child was fine now and she was fully smiling. He was just a little bit frightened by her entrance she guessed and she found it a little bit funny that she could scare somebody. "You don't have to close your eyes you know..." She said. She didn't have much else to say though, but she wanted to stay around a little bit, just to see the resemblance he had with a friend she once knew.

Ambors frowned, "b-but you said ... in my eyes..." he squirmed slightly uncomfortable and a tad bit embarrassed for his childish actions. He opened his eyes slowly and stared down at his feet, "s-so wh-what are you doing running around like a crazy monster?" he tilted his head, "you weren't being chased were you?!" he asked becoming panicked, what if she had led a monster to him?! He glanced around nervously, "because i-if you were.. we shouldn't be standing around here chit chatting..."

Epona laid her curious eyes on him again as he slowly opened his. She wasn't sure if she should take his remark of calling her a crazy monster as harmful or as funny. She did not feel hurt though so she giggled. "Well I doubt I brought a monster with me..." She didn't really believe in monsters anyways. "In any case, if I had brought a monster along I wouldn't let it harm you." She smiled.
