Padding lightly through the tall grass to keep his footfalls silent, the only sound that reaches Anuk's ears besides the faint brush of grass against his fur is the jingling of his bangles that adorn his paw. Step, jingle, step, jingle. Step, pause, clink, jingle. He was a windchime through the grass without any wind, and he liked it that way.
Khepri was off playing somewhere else but he wasn't worried. His adoptive sister couldn't get herself into too much trouble out here in the thick brush. As long as she kept herself away from the open air, but then he'd probably catch sight of that red fur. Nope, nothing but the grass, himself.. and that annoying grasshopper interrupting his jingling with it's screechy noise. How rude.

Kida crouched low in the grass, sitting absolutely still. Her eyes tracked the movements of a small grasshopper, staring intently. This was not the first time she tried to catch a bug, and it probably wouldn't be her last. A fly landed on her ear, and she flicked it away. Oh no! The bug saw the movement, and now it was on guard. Kida would have to wait until it calmed down and went about its business again. She watched and waited, listening to it's annoying screeching and trying not to be too impatient.
There! The grasshopper was wandering around again, looking for food. Kida waited, waited, waited......Now! The young Palu sprang into action, bursting out of the grass towards her prey. Unfortunately, she misjudged the distance between herself and her prize. Her perfectly executed spring propelled her through the air and into a tangled heap on the ground. The bug was startled into the air by this bright blue projectile, but soon came to land again, this time on the Palu's nose. Kida went cross-eyed, trying to see the grasshopper. She snorted, trying to get it off, but to no avail. She glared at the offending insect. Foiled again!

Flicking an ear, Anuk prepares to simply turn and head to another section of grass away from the annoying interruptions from grasshoppers. That is of course, until a completely different sound catches his attention. A rough landing a few tall grass clumps over, that silenced the annoying bug for a few seconds.
Hm, interesting... Flicking his tail once he takes one, two steps towards whatever had made such a hard landing, bangles jingling lightly again uninterrupted.

--What's this? Kida is evolving!-- *whoosh!* --Kida evolved into....Adult Kida!-- *triumphant music plays* Kida blinks, a bit startled at the sudden change. She picks herself up slowly, then shakes her entire body, causing her ears and tail to flap wildly and her bracelets to jingle loudly. Ah, that feels much better! Now Kida is accustomed to her new adult form, and she's ready to face the aftermath of her childish leap. The stone pendant hanging from her neck pulses slightly, reflecting her happiness.
Suddenly Kida remembers a sound that she heard, just after her rather undignified landing and before the change. It had seemed...familiar, somehow. She pricks her ears, listening in case the sound came again, and turned towards the direction from which she had heard it. Could there be someone out there? Kida padded forward, eager to see what had made such a noise.

[xD Fastest growth spurt I've ever seen~]
What was that? Jingling? Anuk looks down at his own bracelets to see that no, his paw hadn't raised yet to jingle his just yet with his next step. So, that meant something else through the grass was jingling back at him. This now, is certainly more interesting that discovering whatever had landed so roughly before, and more so even than chasing off those annoying bugs that insisted on interrupting his jingling tune as he walked.
Lifting his paw again just above the ground he drops it again, jingling his bracelets louder than usual to see if the other jingle would echo back.

Kida stopped suddenly. There it was again! She froze, waiting for the noise to sound once more. It sounded really familiar. She took a step forward, and heard her bracelets jingle. That's what it was! The sound was just like the chime of her bracelets clinking together. That meant that whoever or whatever was out there must have bracelets just like her!
The Atlantean Palui bounded forwards, excited to see what was making noise just like her bracelets, and found herself in a small clearing in the forest. Sunlight beamed down gently, lighting the clearing and glinting off of small bits of...gold?

Pricking his ears intently at the sound again, yes that jingling of bracelets did echo his own! Anuk flicks his tail lightly, the fluffy appendage giving him just a light breeze. What was that, the jingling sped up now. It was heading right for him.
He stands alert, ears pricked towards the noise.. and turns to face the source of this echo jingling.. and spots a blue palui bound out of the brush with bracelets on one leg so like his own. "You have them."

More glints of sunlight flicker and flash, as a dark Palui turns his head at Kida's entrance into the clearing. She almost misses the Palui's statement, as she is distracted by the appearance of the other figure. Her eyes slowly trace along the gold studs in one ear, down past dark, solemn eyes, catching sight of bright gold markings like streaks of light in a pitch black night sky, and finally they fix on the source of the jingling noise so like that of her own bracelets.
After a few seconds of silence, Kida realizes that the dark Palui had spoken, and takes a moment more to process the words. She jerks her gaze back up to those dark, golden eyes, and slowly a grin spreads over her face.
"Why, yes, I do! If by 'them' you mean these lovely bracelets." She raises her paw and shakes it playfully, causing the bangles to sound again, clear as bells and just as sweet.

As the other palui takes so long to answer him, Anuk gives a flick of his tail and studies them carefully. Light blue, clear eyes, markings similar to his own but a much brighter blue than her fur color.. A very interesting glowy stone around her neck, then back to those bracelets.
"I do mean those. And yes, they are.. so much like mine too, only they jingle lighter. Who are you? No other palui I've seen has any bracelets like us, s why didn't I see you before." Genuinely curious about that fact, his pierced ear flicks lightly. "It's easy to hear the jingle coming."

[Holy, crap! Just realized I've been switching between past and present tense from post to post. Sorry bout that >< ]
Kida's grin softens into a smile as she listens to the other Palui speak. He has a pleasant voice, low and smooth and as easy on the ears as his looks are on the eyes. The glow of her stone pulses slightly, reflecting her mood.
"I am Kidagakash," she says. "I come from the city of Atlantis, and you have not seen me before because I have not been on this island for long." She tilts her head a bit as she watches the dark Palui. "You have been here quite a while, to know the residents well enough to have caught the absence of another bangled Palui." A statement, though it could also be a question.

[Lol, -Floofs- that's alright.. x3 I'm guilty of that myself many times... xD My brain reads it in the right tense, so no worries~ <3]
Tail flicking again, Anuk's eyes light on the stone when it glows brighter for a moment. Hm well, that was interesting... but not the important topic yet. Ask about it later though, yes he would certainly do that.
"Kidaga... excuse me?" Both ears p***k forward at trying to grasp the name. Alright then...this was.. new. How was he supposed to say that mouthful of a name in one try? Or two, three?? Deciding to step over that fumble quickly he flicks his pierced ear back again and habitually lifts his bangled paw to set it back down for that ever-present jingle. "I'm Anuk. And no, I haven't been here too long, and I don't really know that many of them, but a jingling bracelet is easy to pick out among the wind and other sounds. I haven't heard it anywhere else here and I wander a lot, when my little sister isn't getting into mischeif."

[It's because past tense is my preferred mode of writing RPs, and I keep forgetting that we're in present tense here. I even started this post in past before I caught myself >w< ]
The Atlantean Palui chuckles and says, "You may call me Kida, if my full name is too much of a mouthful." Kida's eyes flick to Anuk's ear piercings as he flicks his ear and they catch the sunlight again. Unconsciously, she flicks her own pierced ear in response, causing her own earring to sway and glitter in the sun. She quirks up one corner of her mouth in a crooked smile when Anuk makes his bangles jingle, and mirrors his action. Her smile widens as she notices how both notes are different, but somehow chime in harmony to blend together and make a pleasing sound.
"Anuk..." She rolls the name on her tongue. "An interesting name, and a good one. I am pleased to meet you," she says, inclining her head towards him. "You have a sister? How nice. I have no siblings, though it is always a pleasure to be around kits and to hear their laughter." She flicks her tail and her eyes brighten at the thought of children.

[Aa I see, I see x3 It's all good though~]
"Kida then." A nod at that, much easier to say than the mass of syllables before. Anuk flicks his ear once more after noticing Kida's own earring sway. "You have one of those as well I see."
Pausing just a moment to p***k both ears to the jingling bracelets himself, another flick of his bushy tail starts off his train of speech. "She isn't quite my sister, but I think of her as such. I stumbled onto her bundle when she was still inside it and when she came out she latched onto me.. energetic one, though.." He grins just faintly. "We could be siblings, you never know.. I don't remember my own parents much, but she has gold markings a bit like mine, but brighter, and her fur is red. besides that.. nothing alike, like normal siblings would be."

"Mhmm," Kida purred, "It seems we both have quite a bit of jewelery compared to the average Palu."
She cants her head slightly, listening as Anuk describes his sister, and watching the pleasure on his face. "You may or may not be related by blood, but you share a strong bond. You are very close to your sister," she says. She grins and adds, "Not all siblings are alike, you know."

"It would seem that way, though my sister mentions that some, or at least one palui she's met had a necklace that jingled a bit like our bracelets."
He nods lightly, giving his tail a little swish. "That is true.. and we have the blessing to have not had to get into any fights over anything, yet. It will probably still happen, not any siblings I've heard of had never had a single fight in their lives before."
