Yes, I know the answer...quit my job or tell him to give me Sundays off.

Right...the situation.
My temple recomend expired the end of last month. I was going to go get it again, but my job has had me work every Sunday for almost 2 months now! I've told him several times I can work ONE Sunday a month, but he claims I'm the only one who can work Sunday mornings.
Now, the part tha bothers me. Yes, I work in Utah. So at first I thought 'Ok, everyone wants to go to Church.' But...no. I'm the ONLY mormon that works there. So, everyone is out late Saturday night getting wasted and doesn't want to come to work at 7am. That's why I'm the only one.
Like I said, I know I should just tell my boss no, but I've never had a job like this that I LOVE and feel like I'm making a diffrence (RTC). I've managed to get next Sunday off, but how on EARTH am I suppose to get my recommend back if I can't ever go to church?

hmmm... i would say your answer, but yeah... obviously that isn't the one you want. so uh... i had the same problem just recently. i went right to the owner of the store i work at (i work at fast food, ah the joys of being a teenager) and i just bugged him for like an hour and eventually he gave in and admired me for my persistance. maybe you just need to be more persistant.

Well, my friend had a problem with her job. They said that they needed her so she threatened to quit if they made her work Sunday's. It doesn't always work but try it. If they don't listen. Think abou what is most important to you and pray about it. We can't tell you for sure what to do.

you could set up an appointment with your bishop for another day during the week.

That's not her problem. Her problem is how she's going to get a temple reccomend, when she has to work Sundays, and isn't able to keep the sabbath day holy.

We all must make sacrifices at times, and some are bigger than others. This may be one of the bigger ones.

Now, I can't say I've ever been in this situation. But, if I was, I think I would simply put my foot down. I'd say that becuase of my beliefs, which are important to me, I simply cannot work on a Sunday. And that it'd be either me simply not working on Sunday, or not working at all.

I'd of course pray for guidance first. And, if it turns out that I would lose my job, then I'd have to find another one. I would pray and ask for help in getting one, and really apply myself.

You just have to have faith that if keeping the sabbath day holy was really important to God, then he'd help you find a different job if things don't work out right.

But, as ConcreteAngel said, we can't tell you for sure what to do. Pray about it yourself.
