Eleri was not terribly fond of humans. It wasn't that she particularly disliked them, she simply thought they were...savage. Uncouth. Destructive. Just, generally not pleasant to be around. She tended to simply avoid them for the most part, but on occasion she felt the need to venture forth into their territories.

Tonight was such a night. Sometimes, she wished she had never stumbled upon the beauty of music, but she had and thus it produced quite a draw to her. And so, she had gone into the human village in order to listen, as a performance was being given in the courtyard at the castle.

Gently gliding to the castle, she settled in a darker corner of the courtyard, attempting to remain unnoticed while enjoying the lute player's song.

Ugh. Tonight was so cold! Teeth chattering against her will, Marie rushed through the castle's courtyard, six cylindrical logs stacked in her arms. Being a maid at the castle wasn't the best job in the world, as proved now, as she rushed through the courtyard. But it wasn't the worst either, as she knew that she'd soon be in a room with a warm fire - hence the logs. The celebration was for the Prince of the castle, who'd recently turned fourteen, and was sat at the front, wrapped up warmly in a fur coat. Marie wasn't as lucky, forced to simply wear her maid's uniform, with it's short sleeves and slightly too short skirt that allowed the harsh wind to blow around her ankles.

Placing the logs down to take a small break - well, she had carried them all the way from the forest! - Marie doubled over, growling at the pain in her back. Carrying things wasn't good for a twenty-one year old women, especially not something as heavy as logs, but it wasn't like she had a choice. And she liked to please her master, anyway - he was a kind, albeit somewhat cheery man.

She didn't notice that she'd stopped just in front of Eleri, most likely blocking her view of the performance.

"Would you kindly -move-?" the Gargoyle hissed. She did try not to interact with humans if possible, but this situation was unavoidable. As long as she kept quiet, the others probably would not notice her,
"I am trying to enjoy the performance."

Well, Marie nearly jumped out of her skin. She hadn't seen the Gargoyle there, and had to use all her self control to not scream and it's sudden appearance. What was it doing here? Usually they didn't come to the castle - she'd only ever seen two before, and one of them was from afar.

"I-I-I..." she began, unable to form any words to begin with, though she soon found her voice again, "Sorry - I didn't see you there. The shadows hid you."

She stepped out of the Gargoyles way, though frowned a little at the added comment, arms crossing over her chest, "And there's no need to be so rude, thank you."

Eleri crossed her arms indignantly,
"-I- am rude? You are the one trouncing about in front of me when I am trying to watch the performance!"

She eyed the lute player, who seemed to be coming to a close. Next would be the harpist-- the one she was really hoping to see,
"Now please, go away. Your yammering is disturbing the music."
