Character Statistics
Character statistics are displayed in the character's biographical information and in their ID badge. These statistics are used for fun and to help grade characters whenever in an RP sequence that includes using their mutant/non-mutant skills. Because the students are at a school, they would naturally have a progression in their abilities so our new Statistics chart is to be used to reflect it.
The base number of points a character should use are organized at the following levels:
First year students have 25-30 stat points to spend (5 maximum points on the Mastery stat)
Second year students have 30 - 35 (7 maximum points on the Mastery stat)
Third year students have 35 - 45 (9 maximum points on the Mastery stat)
Fourth year students have 45-50 (no cap on Mastery as this level will take some time to be achieved by new characters)
During the course of the game, each character who graduates to the next level will be given additional stat points to put on their bio/id card to make up for the level change in the game.
Years in this instance count as how long the student has studied their powers at the Institute (not their actual high school level as they do not always correspond). If you feel that this doesn't fit our character, send your team leader a compelling reason why you need extra points. On a case by case basis, mods may raise the limit by 5 max. Please remember that if it doesn't make sense for a character to use all of their stat points, they do not need to use them.
Mastery statistic: All of the statistics categories have a ten point system. The Mastery statistic will now be boosted to a 20 point scale since there is a wide range of where a character can be and to help prevent people from maxing out this skill. The more mastery a character has, the more things they can do with their power. A player should not add a new aspect to their characters power without obtaining a higher master level. For example:
- Siona can currently create a probability shield and has 'lucky/unlucky' things happen to her. If I want to add another ability to what she can do with her power, I need to raise her mastery skill.
- Aaron can currently manipulate the element of wind, but if he wants to move into other elements, his mastery level has to be increased significantly.
No new ability should be added to a character without moderator approval and mastery skill purchases.
Character Stats Reference Guide
There are a few things to remember before assigning stats to your character:
-You don't have to max out your points. It doesn't make sense for some characters to have high stats in everything.
-Be realistic. A speed of 10 is equivalent to Quicksilver or the Flash. Unless your character has super speed as a power, you're not going to have a stat of 10.
-Stat points will be awarded as time moves along as a reward to good posting and other things. So eventually your cap may move above 55.
