Introduction

The Academy X point system is to be used by players for the purchasing of stat points for ID cards, non mutant skills (such as small weapon mastery), and the purchase of secondary characters. The point system will govern the addition of powers to a character through the purchase of extra mastery points for characters.

The Credits (Point) System

During the course of the game, credits will be given out to characters (and players) for various reasons (see below). These credits are used to purchase the following items:

10 Credits can be turned in for a new non-mutant power based ability or a level up in a non-mutant power based ability
15 Credits can be turned in for 1 stat point for a character that is between 1-6 in the scale.
20 Credits can be turned in for 1 stat point for a character that is between 7 - 10 on the scale.
50 Credits can be turned in to purchase an additional character in the game (but it must be played by a mule account) If you try to scam us and we find out you applied with a mule to get a free second character, we will ban both accounts. - This is no longer required. If you want a second character, submit it to the mods just as you would your original character for approval.

How to Earn Credits

Credits can be earned several ways:

1. Participation in plots: Mods will review who participated in each plot and assign credits when each story arc ends.
2. Monthly contests: The guild contest winners will be given credits as prizes (along with other Gaia items)
3. Player of the Month: The mods will select a player(s) of the month who will receive credits.
4. Other events: From time to time there will be other ways to earn credits. The mods will announce those times.

How to Cash in Credits

A tally will be maintained in this forum of each team and its characters and their credits totals. Whenever a player reaches the level that they desire, they post in this thread when they want to cash in their credits. Once a moderator approves the credit transaction, the player will be allowed to update their character.

Whenever cashing in for a skill or stat, please list what skill/stat is being upgraded.

Character Statistics

Character statistics are displayed in the character's biographical information and in their ID badge. These statistics are used for fun and to help grade characters whenever in an RP sequence that includes using their mutant/non-mutant skills. Because the students are at a school, they would naturally have a progression in their abilities so our new Statistics chart is to be used to reflect it.

The base number of points a character should use are organized at the following levels:

First year students have 25-30 stat points to spend (5 maximum points on the Mastery stat)
Second year students have 30 - 35 (7 maximum points on the Mastery stat)
Third year students have 35 - 45 (9 maximum points on the Mastery stat)
Fourth year students have 45-50 (no cap on Mastery as this level will take some time to be achieved by new characters)

During the course of the game, each character who graduates to the next level will be given additional stat points to put on their bio/id card to make up for the level change in the game.

Years in this instance count as how long the student has studied their powers at the Institute (not their actual high school level as they do not always correspond). If you feel that this doesn't fit our character, send your team leader a compelling reason why you need extra points. On a case by case basis, mods may raise the limit by 5 max.

Please remember that if it doesn't make sense for a character to use all of their stat points, they do not need to use them.

Mastery statistic: All of the statistics categories have a ten point system. The Mastery statistic will now be boosted to a 20 point scale since there is a wide range of where a character can be and to help prevent people from maxing out this skill. The more mastery a character has, the more things they can do with their power. A player should not add a new aspect to their characters power without obtaining a higher master level. For example:

- Siona can currently create a probability shield and has 'lucky/unlucky' things happen to her. If I want to add another ability to what she can do with her power, I need to raise her mastery skill.

- Aaron can currently manipulate the element of wind, but if he wants to move into other elements, his mastery level has to be increased significantly.

No new ability should be added to a character without moderator approval and mastery skill purchases.

Character Stats Reference Guide

There are a few things to remember before assigning stats to your character:

-You don't have to max out your points. It doesn't make sense for some characters to have high stats in everything.
-Be realistic. A speed of 10 is equivalent to Quicksilver or the Flash. Unless your character has super speed as a power, you're not going to have a stat of 10.
-Stat points will be awarded as time moves along as a reward to good posting and other things. So eventually your cap may move above 55.

Yes ma'am. Sorry for the delay!

Well for starters, I would like to get the Martial Arts (Beginner) level (10 points right?)

And then, I just realized I only had a 4 in my power mastery, and was wondering if the point jumping for that is similar to the other abilities in that (1-6) points costs 15 credits, (since power mastery goes up to 20 any not just 10)? If so, I'd also like to pump that up to a full 5.

So 25 points total spent.
