Around and around and around he swirled, his long body coiling like a spring in the air. He would catch that damned dragonfly no matter what! Taking a sharp left the male dived after the red bug as it headed down towards the water of Painter canyon. So it was trying to be smart huh? Diving down faster the males eyes grew wide when the horribly nasty dragonfly bounced back over top of the water and up into the sky. Damned that dragonfly! Watching his prey slowly fade away a growl rolled through his body. Not only would he have to find another playmate, but he was most definitely going to be wet by the end of this.

Bracing himself for the watery impact his body arched. If he was going to get wet the least he could do was make it sting less and maybe even make it fun.

SPLASH.

The males bright green body was engulfed in the deep waters of the river. It had not stung nearly as much as he thought it would. Smirking at the wonderful liquid feel the male glided onward. Maybe he could play with the fish, or perhaps wait for that stupid dragonfly to get close again.

As he continued to glide like a snake in the water he noticed a largely shaded area. He had not noticed that place before. Taking a deep breathe the male dove down deep into the water, follow the darker areas until he found himself near an entrance to a most peculiar cave. Half of it was submerged but it was also assessable in the air. Where did it lead?

Raising to the surface of the water the male looked in back of him. No one was there. Again he looked towards the cave then behind him. Curiosity had gotten to him and soon he was traveling up the slowly thinning stream toward what looked like large abandoned cave.

What luck! Not only had he had fun, he found a secret hiding spot. Using his tail to propel him through the water he looked around at the dark flatland. If only there was light. He again took a look behind him before sucking in a large amount of air and then.

FWOOOSH.

There was light.

The size of the land often made traveling difficult. Whereas normal Painters with strong wings and dispositions could find themselves at point B from point A in mere hours, it seemed to take her twice as long, a fact that irked her no matter the passage of time. And yet, the breaks that endless days of travel took were what Ivanna enjoyed the most. Finding the darkest and coolest and most solitary spots had become so much like a hobby. At this point in life, it was rare that the albino let herself in the sun long enough to feel anything more than a slight skin irritation.

Contented quite a bit now, especially considering this nice cave she'd found and the extended nap she'd just risen from, she was almost unsure she really wanted to leave and continue her travels. It's not like there really was a reason for the constant movement. It was just something to do, not really necessary. Putting on a thoughtful expression for no one but herself, she slunk in the direction of what she was pretty sure was the entrance she'd used. Having slept for so long, she'd lost track of time. If nothing else, she would wait until it was getting dark before venturing out into the world again.

A few paces held nothing but silence. That was the way she liked- A heavy, clawed forepaw struck the stony floor and didn't move. What was that? The sound grew louder and louder, as if it were coming closer, but... Perhaps this secluded cave wasn't as empty as she'd originally assumed. Eyes narrowed, muscles tense and ready as limbs began a forward movement once more.

She couldn't really say she expected it to be something dangerous. In fact, she was certain there were few things that could overpower a fully rested female, of a naturally weaker status or not. It was probably nothing more than a fish wandering too far up into the cave. If it got stuck, maybe she could even scrounge a meal from this place as she debated whether or not to abandon it.

Peering around a rather large rock formation, her sensitive eyes remained narrowed on the surrounding area, searching for any sign of what the sound had been. While it looked, for a little while, like nothing was going to come, she continued to stare. Finally, awarding her patience, the darkness produced a nimble looking form splish-splashing through the water. And what a bright color it was! And... too large to be a fish? She was very certain.

Tuvics eyes screamed in pain at the sudden light that he created. He had not thought that one through fully and in doing so temporarily blinded himself. Unnerved by the darkness and silence of the cave the male shivered, as he continued to wade in the water, unable to move forward. He would have to either adjust to the light soon or try his best to get to land. Snorting at his predicament Tuvic glared into the darkness before slowly moving forward. Lad was very close; it was getting up onto the land that would take a little work.

Nearing the land in front of him her sighed. He was going to have to use his long frontal whiskers in order to find a path up onto the land. He dare not fly at this point for fear of flying to high and hurting himself on the stalactites above.

As his eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness around him he could slowly make out dark shapes around him. One shape in particular made him blink twice. It was rather white, unlike the surrounding area. Making a mental note to go disturb it later he drug his whiskers along the side of the small cliff.

As he searched for a safe pathway up the cliff side he found himself floating. His long snake-like body form tight as his whiskers guided himself. Up, up, and down. Finally he found the cliff side, his body gliding softly onto the land leaving only his tail submerged. He loved how the small fish nibbled on his tail hair, causing him to purr softly.

As he sat purring to himself he noticed the incredible silence around him. He could have sworn he could hear the fish swimming below. It was peaceful, too peaceful for his liking. Smirking to himself Tuvic took a clawed paw and dragged it across the rocky surface. A haunting squeal summoned as he pulled forward. That was much better.

Looking around him again he noticed the white blob fairly close to him. What in the world was that thing. A extremely large quartz formation? A brow lifted. Quartz were not native around this area. He looking around the room for another white looking blob. Nothing. Pressing his lips together the male glared into the distance hoping to make out the figure.

Not one to take thoughtless action, Ivanna sat still where she was. Patience, it seemed, was rewarding her with a rather strange show, however. It had been a long time since she'd seen such movements. And yet, they really were familiar. A hazy few travel memories flashed through the female's mind as she tried to place these twisting a turning motions, so similar to a snake. But snakes, she knew, were not so adept at gliding up the sides of things. She was intelligent enough to understand that.

So, the staring continued as whatever it was moved closer. So caught up in mental debate, she certainly wasn't expecting what came next. The unpleasant noise met her ears, ripping her immediately from her thoughts and into a slight rage. "Aahh..." Letting out an angry hiss, she stomped a clawed paw on the rocks beneath her. "What were you thinking?!" the call rang out, bouncing off the walls.

"What a terrible sound..." she muttered, voice a bit quieter now. Sometime between the noise and her outburst, whatever it was had begun to watch her without her knowledge. It was only now that she thought she could make out a face looking back at her through the darkness. Her eyes, rather sensitive in the light, seemed to adjust much better in the dark.

"Mmrrr..."

Attention was quickly caught at the ringing of the angry voice, his ears perked and his head looking out into the distance. He was pretty sure he knew that that white thing was now. A Painter, and a rather irritable one by the sound of it. Chuckling lightly into the darkness he picked himself up to shrug. “Eh, it is too quiet here.” his voice bored as he continued to stare hard into the distance, the white blob now taking on a dragon-like appearance. Huh, white like coconut meat, how fun!

Snickering to himself at the thought the male decided to slowly approach the other. He was going to be having more fun than he thought today! “Heh, it is only terrible if you let it, Coconut.” It stuck, and he most certainly wasn’t going to let it go. Coconut was a good name after all! Plus, it sounded like it was a she, more bonus points for him.

Slowly inching closer to the other his smile broadened, he could now make out the face of a pretty little coconut meat colored painter. If it was a she, and by the looks of it, it was, than why in the world would she be hiding in a dark, dank cave.

“…Why are you here anyway? Huh, huh, huuuuuuh?”

"Sometimes quiet is a good thing..." she muttered, voice low despite the distance that still remained between them. It wasn't every day she had conversations with other Painters from across rather large caverns. And even if, for whatever stupid reason, it was a usual occurance, she wasn't one to care enough to raise her voice. If he didn't hear, he didn't hear. That certainly wasn't her problem.

Hm... She sure felt unusually irritable for some reason. Probably since he seemed so quickly thoughtless in her book. A frown stretched her maw as she eyed him moving closer. The more she was able to focus, the more she understood the snake-like movements of earlier.

"Coconut?" she questioned dryly. "I do have a name, you know." There most definitely was no question in her voice now. Coconut? Just where had he come up with such a... silly idea? She couldn't even think of a word better than silly to describe the situation, not to mention her first impression. Of course, it didn't occur to her that her pasty skin would remind anyone of anything as random as coconut meat. Perhaps there just weren't enough coconuts in her diet.

Shaking her head, she laughed a bit. "I hardly think it matters what I do with my own time," she told him matter-of-factly. "Besides, I could ask you the same thing."

“Not when you think you are alone in the darkness it is not my sweet Coconut”

His sensitive ears could easily pick up every soft word that fluttered out of her delicate mouth. He found it highly amusing that she had gotten defensive over something as simple as sharp noise. The urge to cause a large, much high pitched sound battling inside of him just to see what kind of reaction would stir from the female before him.

Holding his tingling body together his yellow eyes stared the female down as he sat down with a soft plop a few feet away. Finally he was able to see the eyes lady wrapped in coconut meat. Too dark too actually tell what color they were but he would guess some sort of blue, red, or brown by how dark they actually were. Maybe she was an albino?

A brow rose at the question on his nickname for her. It was so obvious wasn’t it? Was she daft or something? Peeking over at her he decided to answer her question.“…Yes. CO-CO-NUT. The meat inside the brown fuzzy thing that grows on those trees on the beach. Ya’know, it is WHITE. Like you. Are ya daft?” Staring hard at her for a moment he busted into a smile and shook his head. “I thought it was cute anyway. Plus, coconuts smell really damned nice. Take it as a complement misssssssss…..” Looking back into the darkness he started to bob back and forth, tail flicking back and forth happily as if he was thinking about something amusing.

Peeking over at her again her again her blinked, “Huh?”

For now she chose to ignore the 'sweet Coconut' comment, along with the rest of his statement as she glanced away, disinterested. There was something unusual about this one, something she had never experienced in her mostly solo lifetime. The best she could think was that he lacked tact. Or perhaps chose to ignore the idea of it. He seemed to be enjoying himself.

Finally letting her gaze shift again, she noticed him looking back at her. A brow quirked unseen in the dark cave, but she bit her tongue. It didn't really matter. Besides, there was nothing she could think to say that wouldn't sound unnecessarily defensive.

That was her train of thought until her intelligence was insulted. Whether or not he meant it in complete seriousness, she was too stubborn to consider. "I know what the innards of coconuts look like. Thanks for the lesson." She lowered herself into a sarcastic bow before pulling back up and tossing her head. "I'll consider something you say as a compliment when you call me by my name. IV-AN-NA." She mimicked his own way of teaching with a little smile-

A little smile that slowly faded into a placid--if not slightly down-turned--expression. Eyes followed the motions, moving from his body down to his tail as if she couldn't quite understand him. She wondered if he was always so... was spontaneous a good word?

"'Huh' what?" She questioned in return, sounding moderately agitated.
