who here is a fan of any of these?
My favorite J-pop would have to be Boa Kwon, Do as Infinity, and Koda. I'm actually quite new to J-rock and Visual Kei but I for some reason really enjoy them...for some reason ^^;; (i'm not punk or anything though ^~; wink
I don't have a particular favorite in visual kei but I do enjoy their styles a whole lot.
Same withi J-rock actually i've heard a few j-rocks but they're random songs I listened to and that's how I started loving J-rock
some bands like that I haven't heard a lot of (either that or never heard them sing before but desperatly want to) are MALICE MIZER i've heard some good things of them from my friends. And BLOOD i've never heard them sing before but I really love their style ^^

I tend to like J-Pop more than J-Rock, because I like rock music do to it being (in my view) poetry to music: Pearl Jam, The Killers, and even the Gorillaz. Where as Pop music is mostly just about the music. Even though I can understand what some J-Rock artists are saying, I don't get the poetry of their words nor do I understand some of the metaphors due to cultural differences. With J-Pop I don't even have to know what they're saying, cause the music is upbeat and just fun to listen to. But that's just me.

I'm a fan of J-pop. If anyone likes janet jackson or someone along those lines, I highly recommend listenening to Crystal Kay. Also, Utada Hikaru. she has a great voice and i think she's trying to break into U.S. . She sounds good in both english and japanese. I like J-rock but I don't know that many groups. can anyone tell me some good ones to check out?
