...or do the Japanese like naming anime characters after food. Naruto is a food product of fish past called NARUTO-MAKI, NARUTO in short, which is used for the Japanese food as a starter or to accompany for the Japanese noodles. Combine that with the DBZ cast of Vegeta-ble, Kakarot (Carrot), Raditz (Radish) etc... Does thier culture revolve that much around food, or are they a bit low in the originality department?

Unfortunately, it is not just you. They are quite low in the originality department, enough to have numerous cliches.
