The winter wind blew his black and copper fur away from his scrawny body, making the little vagabond shiver. His olivine eyes were focused on his 'charge', the little violet and pink daughter of Bipolar. Bipolar had been his saving grace, his kindred spirit. She'd saved him from starving. She'd taught him how to hunt. To this she-wolf, he was eternally grateful.
Lithium bounded through the snow, doubling back and circling Uncle Rend before taking off once again. "C'mon Uncle Reeeeender!" she cried out joyfully, her nose covered in snow.
---
The little she wolf, looked like a sore thumb. She was a ebony color with orange markings. She didnt blend, no matter where she happened to hide.. Unless there was something that existed that she hadnt known of. The little pup smiled, wagging her tail as she bounded in first one large pile of snow, and then another, merely bouncing between hills as she went.
---
Lithium stopped in mid-stride, her ears pricking up. Rend was several yards behind her, rooting around to get to a frozen bird. She gazed back at him for a moment, then paced forwards a little bit, shoving her muzzle through a bush. There, on the other side, was a black and orange pup, a little bigger than herself. Not realizing that this was the 'dangerous pup', the grandchild of alpha Twist, Lithium bounded forwards with a roar of excitement.
---
Voila! had not been expecting company, and she reared back, eyes wide as she cried out a bit. "Oh my goodness! You came out of nowhere!" She exclaimed with a giggle, before rushing over to the little pup who was so brightly colored, and sniffing her.
---
As the other female squealed in surprise, Lithium burst into a fit of giggles, dropping into a play bow, her little tail wagging wildly. "I'm sorry for scaring you! I live on the other side of those bushes!" She stood still while Voila! sniffed her, patient for such a bouncy pup.
---
She giggled, putting her chest to the earth, her rump dancing in the air, her tail like a little questionmark, just like the marking on Lithiums face. She couldnt help but giggle again. She just loved to play, and seeing such friendly pups made her remember how much fun others could be. "Oh really?" She sniffed her again. "You smell familiar! My names Voila!."
---
Lithi grinned and barked at her, dropping into a playful bow as well. Her head tilted to one side, ears flopping forwards. "I'm Lithium. I have a brother and a sister and a mom and a dad. They don't tell me much about the outside world, though. Voila!, are we in the outside world?"
---
Voila! giggled shaking her head as she perked up. "Nope! We are in the Aqua Azul lands." She said with a nod, looking around as if to punctuate her sentence with a visual. "Its nice to meet you Lithium! I have a mother and a father..and a sister and brother too!"
---
Agua Azul... The word was familiar, yet unfamiliar at the same time. Their homeland... Her head bobbed up, following Voila!'s gaze. Then she realized she was alone. "Oh! Oh my... I forgot my Uncle!" she squeaked, backtracking to gaze back through the bushes.
Rend had noticed she was missing with a drooping heart, his body beginning to tremble. Oh no.. Paranoia would have his head. Oh no, oh no... Where had she gotten off to? He let out a whine, taking a few steps forward to sniff at her trail.
---
Voila! looked back towards where she had run off to, cocking her head with a glance. "Wait! Where are you going?!" She asked, bounding after her.
---
Lithium leapt through the bushes, not aware of the other femme following her. She tumbled into the snow, then jerked her head up to greet the worried gaze of her uncle. "Oh Rend! I didn't meant to run off... Don't tell Daddy..."
Rend's heart collapsed as she came back into sight. He started forwards, opening his maw to tell her NEVER to do that again, that she nearly gave him a heart attack, when he saw the black and orange pup galloping up to them. His heart nearly stopped.
---
Viola! wagged her little tail and smiled her fangy smile. "Is this your Uncle?" She asked, as she caught up and heard the pup asking him not to Tell Daddy. She was happy she onyl really answered to her mother. Her father was usually not too far away, but when there were issues, mother was closer.
---
Lithi turned back to her newfound friend, a grin on her own maw. "Yes! This is Rend! Rend, this is my new friend, Voila!" She wagged her tail and looked up at the vagabond expectantly.
Rend's world had stopped. All he could hear was the sound of his blood rushing in his heart. He stood stock still, staring at the pup. The beautiful, beautiful pup...
She smelled of the alpha's daughter, Shezaam, so he was right to assume that Voila! was her daughter. Oh, this was not good at all...
---
Voila! had no idea what Rend was thinking, so when she smiled, and darted at Lithium and ran under Rends legs, standing under his belly, reaching out with her mouth to get to Lithiums foot. "Im gonna get chuuu!"
---
Lithium, also, had no clue what Rend was thinking, or fearing. She watched with wide eyes as Voila! darted between Rend's legs and bit at her paw. She squealed then, and nearly knocked the vagabond over in her attempt to grab at her friend.
Rend's heart raced wildly as he watched the two pups play. This was not good. Not at all... Shezaam would have his head. He just had to keep his scent off the pup --
No wait! Too late! He felt her head brush his belly and he skittered to the side, biting back a whine. He wasn't technically a part of this pack. What would the higher ups do to him?
He had to worry...especially with the lump of uncertainty he felt whenever he gazed upon little Voila! The same feeling he felt whenever he looked at beautiful Bipolar... Love...
---
The little pup smiled, completely oblivious, though she knew her mother was the kind one. Her mother was protective, but not overly protective, as she had had free reign as a pup as well..So she usually let the pup do what she wanted as long as she was home by dark. But her little tail wagged. She had no idea that one day she would fall in love with the soulmate that was standing over her. When he jumped to the side, and muffled a whine, she heard it and stopped. Looking at Lithium, she spoke softly in a whisper. "I dont think he likes me."
---
Lithium gazed over at Rend, then at Voila!, her own ears lowering. He was acting weird... "Of course he does. He's just really shy," she murmured back before turning to her uncle. "Rend? Are you okay? Can I stay and play?"
Maybe if he'd known Shezaam personally like he would in a few months, he wouldn't be so jumpy. He caught Lithium's curious gaze and frowned, sitting down in the snow across from the pups. "I-I'm fine. You just startled me. I was so afraid I'd lost you... Go ahead, have fun."
---
She smiled wagging her tail. "Well good, cause I dont think I do enough to not be considered for a friend." She said with a giggle. Her bright eyes looked at Rend and she cocked her head. "You know, you can play too.."
---
Rend melted. That was the simplest word for it. Under her gaze, he melted. Flushing, he shook his head quickly. "N-No, no thank you miss..." He didn't play. It just wasn't him. He wasn't that far out of his shell yet.
Lithium beamed. "Miss Voila!" she chirped, licking at Rend's muzzle and then prancing over to her friend.

Voila! looked at Lithium with a big old puppy grin. She did not know why Rend was so cautious around her.. She was not a bad pup.. "Aw come on, maybe we can play tag or something."
--
She wanted him to play with them... His heart both sank and filled with a strange pride. Well, she already had his scent on her...he might as well...right?
"Okay," he murmured, still uncertain about the whole thing. He would play tag even though he just wanted to watch the pair of pups play. "Lithi's it."
Lithium grinned, her tongue lolling out of her mouth as she leapt to her feet. "I'm it! I'm it! Fear me!"
--
Voila! burst into a fit of giggles as she took off, not wanting to be tagged. "I do I do!" She said, bolting. She loved playing games, and Lithium was so much fun.. She could see them being best friends.
--
Rend took off into a trot, his long legs making great strides as he followed the other pup.
Lithium gave a puppy-like roar and bolted after them, snapping her jaws and making odd growling sounds as she tumbled through the snow. Oh, if mother could see her!
Her puppy jaws clamped around Rend's paw and as quick as she was the offensive, she darted out of the way of her Uncle, nearly falling over Voila! in an attempt to flee.

Before the pups even began their game, a long, empty howl was raised into the sky. It was the rasped howl of Paranoia. A beautiful sound echoing in the air. If you were wolf, you knew what his words meant. He was calling his children back to him. Even Rend had run off. Paranoia was regrouping. __________________________________
Voila! stopped dead in her trackes. Her eyes wide as she stared into the sky. "What on earth was that?!"

Lithium rolled out from under Rend, who had dropped into a playbow, letting his puppiness show for a brief moment. Her ears pricked up and her eyes lit up. To Voila! she danced over to her and said, "That's my daddy's voice! He wants me to come home... Will I see you again, Voila!?"
--
Rend's pale gaze lingered on Voila!. Sure, she was a puppy, but he could see by the way she was built now, that she would mature into a gorgeous young wolf in just a few months... He wanted her, more than he wanted anything before. It was like an inner need, calling his name. And she was that need...
He lifted his head and nudged Lithium. "Er...we should go back." Turning to Voila!, he lowered his head and smiled a little bashfully. "Nice to meet you, miss Voila!."

"Of course you will!" She said, voice happy and bright. She looked to the male and smiled politely, a gleam in her eyes. "Good to meet you too sir!"
She wagged her little tail, watching them leave. Ah, she had made friends!
