In my opinion WWE is stupid for trying to erase Benoit from their history. I understand not mention him on T.V. due to bad rep, but seriously... What are the officials at WWE gonna say when they mention Benoit and all his accomplishments. "Agghhhhh... who?" And if it was me asking and they said that to me. I'd probably exploded on those arrogant bastards. "You know Chris Benoit, the Rapid Wolverine! The man that eliminated Big Show in the 2004 Royal Rumble, and went on to in the World Heavyweight Championship in one of the greatest WrestleMania Main Events ever! Not to mention still has one of the best matches I've ever seen against Kurt Angle! That Chris Benoit, the same guy that killed his family!" I'd just add that last part to piss 'um off.

Well if you saw their Royal Rumble by the numbers this past week they said only one superstar ever won the Rumble from the Number one spot.
Edit - Never mind they said that people have won just any many times from the number one spot as well as the number thirty spot, and that is true.

Well WWE is flippy floppy on Benoit. Because an article i read a month or so ago said that WWE is trying to get Benoit's history back in the WWE.Slowly so that fans wont notice. But of course the article could be wrong.

They did that to not airing a footage of Chris Benoit, that's it.
But however, I say they can't erase Benoit without erasing a good part of their history. They can erase pictures and find ways to not air him if that's what they want, but they'll never be able to deny he was in the business for a long time. He should be remembered as the wrestler, not the man.

Give WWE a little credit, they almost have no way to get by with showing Chris Benoit without any severe backlash. It's simply unavoidable, and I'm sure as much as it pained them to do, they had to just do as suggested. It's to avoid any headlines saying WWE supports a murderer. With them focusing on children as well, those who don't know Benoit might see him and ask about him, too many questions. Parents should explain, but they'll probably just complain to having to explain such a delicate thing.
As long as us, the fans, remember him the way he should be, I think that's enough. To ask such a public company such as WWE to risk their necks in such a way is a little too much.

I don't mind that they no longer mention him on television, but trying to erase him from their history is just absurd.

He should be remembered from his Great Wrestling in the WWE and not for what he did and if that's the case than I should remember people like Eddie, Bam Bam, Crush, British Bulldog for their drug abuses.

this makes me wonder something then, if WWE is trying to erase Benoit's existence with the company, then what did they do with all the footage of him on the DVDs for the SummerSlam anthology? Did they leave his matches in or what?
Also, to kinda counter-point my arguement, he has been mentioned as of late, Triple H mentions him (and they show footage of him) when he's talking about when he tore his Quad the first time around

I totally agree with you on that one. He should be remembered for the wrestler he was NOT the person that the world last knew him as, a murderer. Seriously, I know a lot of people hate benoit because of this but he built the company up. I remember when 2008 came out it was supposed to be due out in august , but THQ working with wwe they had to take out everything beonit. Which is pretty retarded. I have the book Benoit at home and I read it, it's really amazing to hear the storys. and it makes you think, I can't even believe they try and erase him from everyones memory, yea thats pretty hard to do since he was in the company for like what 10+ years and people and judging him on the 24 hours he had left in his life. I know its murder but still, WWE shouldn't take everything Benoit related away. On the Title History page you can't even click on Benoit's name, I was suprised to even find it there.

Still thought it was funny when people voted Benoit v.s. Angle best match on Rawe and they changed it with something of either HBK or Cena. xd I don't remember.
