I've been confussed for the last couple of years. In the original Final Fantasy 7 Aerith was called Aeris. I've read somewhere that Square Enix made a mistake on the name and it was supposed to be called Aerith.In Crisis Core they spell it Aerith. I commonly use both names,but my question is which do you believe it is?

In America she was called Aeris in Japan she was Aerith. Just like Zack's name is different in Japan.

Let me clarify.
It is spelt properly as Aerith. However - the japanese alphabet has no 'th' sound in it. I.E they cannot say 'they' or 'the' as english speakers may. Ultimately, the 'th' is pronounced as an 's' leading to spelling Aeris. I commonly use Aeris when spell though just to ensure the name is properly pronounced. When speaking, it makes no difference if you want to keep the original japanese pronounciation.
So keep in mind, it is pronounced Aeris though spelt Aerith n.n

I speak and spell it Aerith, but I also say it as Aeris too. 3nodding

in advent children it is pronounced aeris so that most recent and i will go with that

Um....Crisis Core is the most recent installment of FFVII. And it is pronounced Aerith (with english accent as well) in A.C as well ._.
