I was looking for portraits of nobility, and I came across this website. It lists several painters on the left side and each one leads to pictures of their paintings.

From this site, I'd have to say my favorites are Alma-Tadema and Bouguereau. The others are very nice, as well. It has always amazed me how paintings could look so close to a photograph!

Do you have any favorite paintings or painters?

My favorit painter? Well I would have to say Frida Kahlo. Although she was from the 20th century so she doesn't really count. I like Rembrandt but a lot of people like Rembrandt. If you wanna look up Frida Kahlo though... I am warning you, MOST of her paintings are pretty gruesome. For example, she was asked to draw a portrait of this girls who had killed herself for the family. So Frida did just that, except she painted her committing suicide. It was kind of weird but the painting is absoloutly amazing!

I'll have to check out Frida Kahlo. My personal favorite artist is also 20th century- Georgia O'Keefe. For the most part, though, I tend to favor individual pieces, rather than specific artists.
