 Adalina rested beneath the cover of a few trees all clustered together. Winter was close to ending, the snow almost completely melted and soon spring would arrive. Good riddance to the snow, was her opinion. But winter wasn't gone yet and a chill still hung in the air. The sun was just peeking out enough to start warming the cool grass, the sun was rare so she shouldn't waste it right? Maybe a trip to the lake.
The small sliver of sun felt good on her fur, though she wasn't dark enough at all to hold any of it in. Beggars can't be choosers. The lake seemed deserted which would normally be a blessing to one so afraid of strangers. But after meeting an old friend and even making a new one, maybe having others around wasn't so bad. With a sigh she headed down to get a drink, then most likely head back to her shady spot. Alone as usual.

He was more graceful in the air than he was in the landing part, for some reason his mothers graceful landings had not been passed down to him, so the ease of a water landing would not be as beautiful as it should be.
Wings spread open, mane flying back, he dove downwards towards the water, his head leaned back as he pulled back, wings curving slightly as his large frame crashing into the water, he landed on all four hooves at least, only stumbling forward a bit.
He caught his balance and right himself, shaking his wings like a bird would, sending water flying. He glanced around, and snorted happily, he hadnt landed on his face!
Then his eyes fell on the mare...He stared a bit..

Lina jumped back and almost turned to run for it, startled by the crash landing in the water. That was...different. Not that she'd met many winged Soquili before so maybe all of them did that just for the heck of it. She started back towards the water but stopped when she saw he was staring at her. Her gaze glanced around. No one else around. What did she have a bug on her face or something? Maybe she was on his territory or something! "I-I'm sorry. I'll go, forgive me for intruding."
She turned and started off again. Silly silly mare. Not even recognizing the person she wanted to see the most in this world when he stood right in front of her face. To her, her best friend was still a little colt. A small rambunctious foal who played with her and actually wanted to be around her. Now who would have ever thought that he would have grown up!
A pause in her step. A few more slower steps. Stop. It couldn't have been him. No way. The colors matched sort of. No, no it wasn't him. Couldn't be. Convincing herself it was imagination she shook her head and continued walking.

He knew that voice, his head tilted a bit. She didnt recognize him?! Oh that stung a bit, Heph thought with a shake of his mane. He'd gotten his mothers long locks of curls and they proved to be a real pain half the time, now he understood why she used her wings to brush her hair away.
"No, your fine.." He said, and tossed her a charming smile. This could actually prove to be fun he thought with a slight arched brow, he strode out of the water, his mane dripping wet as pearls of water beaded on his wings like tiny diamonds.
"Please dont leave, I've yet to have the company of such a beautiful mare.." He cooed slightly, his vocals had gone from childish and slightly pitched to deep and alluring..

Lina stopped and turned to look at the stallion, finding he was already right in front of her she stepped to the side reflexively. A compliment from such a stallion was new to her. No one had said she was beautiful before, minus her parents, they didn't count since they had to say stuff like that to their kids. "I-I ..um..Okay. If you really want me here I suppose I could stay a little longer."
The mare turned and slowly headed back to the water's edge, keeping an eye on the stallion and watching him very carefully. She refused to get her hopes up only to have them shot down. But there was one way to solve the problem. A name was all she needed. "If you're going to be giving such compliments shouldn't you be a gentleman and introduce yourself?"

Ah, she was going to ruin his game! He smiled at her and slowly followed after her, coming up beside her, he then lowered his head and sampled the water a bit before lifting his head and looking at her.
"Thank you for staying.." He shifted his wings, still surprised she'd yet to figure out it was him. Maybe he had changed that much, or she had forgotten him. He hopped she hadnt forgotten him..
"Ah, what is in a name really..It doesnt define who you are, or make you, you..So really what does my name matter m'dear?" he hoped that, it would ease her into a conversation that drew her away from his name.

Cocky attitude. Dead giveaway. "A name is nice to know though when speaking to someone. It's easier than just saying sir or mister, which sounds too formal, especially for your foalish attitude, Heph." With a "hmpf" she turned and started away from him with a flick of her tail and once her back was turned she couldn't help but grin. Two could play games. "I should have known as soon as you splashed into the water. I thought your coordination would have gotten a little better with age but I suppose that was too much to expect, hm?" she called over her shoulder, still making her way along the edge of the lake.
