Slowly, Epona pranced in a semi-dense part of the woods. She went slowly, observing all that was around her. She thought it had been a while since the last time she met with someone. She didn't really care, but if today she were to meet another dragonfly, why would she have to run off. She didn't want to settle, far from it, but having a little chat would make her fine, she didn't want to grow mad like she had a while ago.

Gregor was padding through the trees enjoy the warmth of the ground in this sunny day. He picked his paws up gingerly and strutted through the trees, looking as though he were a prancing deer. Suddenly, up ahead, Gregor spotted another form bounding through the forest. Being downwind, Gregor could scent that it was another dragonfly and smiled with glee. A new friend! He sped up a little bit, and quiet as a mouse, pulled up alongside the pretty female, and simply walked along. He did not want to disturb her because she seemed to be absorbing her surroundings, so Gregor just settled with padding along side her, and looking around as well.

Epona kept moving forward without much notice of the other dragonfly that had just pulled up beside her. She thought it fortunate that a dragonfly decide to walk by her when she herself desired someones presence. She did not show signs of acknowledging his being there but she said to him in a gentle voice, "Hello... Who are you?"

Gregor padded alongside Epona, just waiting for her to notice him. When she did, Gregor replied, "I am Gregor of the wind... but you can drop the title and just call me Gregor if you want... and you are...?" Gregor asked, slightly curious. It was nice to walk next too some one who had a direction, because often enough Gregor didn't know which way to go....

Epona kept her pace steady and she looked at Gregor and smiled. She replied softly, "I'm Epona. It' snice to meet you Gregor." She looked back forward and sniffed the air only to return her attention to Gregor. "How are you Gregor?"

Gregor kept his attention on the path ahead of him, stepping around trees and over boulders with a liquid fluid motion. His clean white fur shone brightly, and he held his tail up to keep it from dragging through the mud. Gregor smiled and nodded before replying in his sweet calm voice, "Well met Epona!" It was nice to have met some one in such a relaxed manner. He took a deep breath of the fresh morning air and continued, "I am feeling fine... though my paws are itching for a good run... You?"

Epona kept slipping in and out of connection to the world. Sometimes she knew Gregor was there and sometimes she forgot. She smiled and looked at him when she heard him speak to her again. No one had ever asked her in her whole entire life if she wanted to run, no one except for perhaps the folk in her memories. She smiled a little bit, "Of course, I would love to run." She said, happily. She didn't know what to do afterwards, should she start running right now or wait for the other dragonfly to go first. She started increasing her speed.

Gregor laughed as he saw Epona speed up, she looked like she was itching for a good run. Gregor was glad he guessed her correctly. He noticed that she hadn't picked up full speed yet, and, guessing she was waiting for him, Gregor jumped forward and yelled, "CHARGE!!!" He launched himself forward and churned up the ground as his paws pressed into the ground and helped him run along. Gregor peered off to the side at Epona, wondering if she would out pace him...

Epona listened at Gregor laugh. She wasn't quite sure what amused him. She curiously took a look back and saw the male abruptly speed up. Charge? she thought. It looked like the other adult was up for a race. She wasn't very competitive but a nice, quick, straight run would feel amazing. She started speeding up at a slow rythm, not kicking in yet, she wanted to warm up first.

Gregor was not a very experienced runner, and wanted to just go all out. Though his body was in very good shape, he didn't know that it would be best to conserve his energy. That is... until he saw what Epona was doing. Gregor watched her out of the corner of his eye and adjusted his stride so that his pace matched hers. What would be the point of burning out early? The corners of his mouth turned up in a dogish smile, as Gregor ran on, loving the feeling of the wind in his fur.

Epona smiled as the other adult kept his pace. She wanted to say something, she wasn't sure what though, just a few words, just to free her mind from her encapsuled body, "What a nice run. No?" She had the wind going through her fur as she sped up, almost ready for her sprint.

Gregor wagged his tail and replied happily, "It is beautiful! Maybe if we run fast enough... we can fly!" He giggled to himself, glad that he was making a new friend. He could sense her body next to his, as they weaved their way through the forest. He could feel every vibration her paws mad when she hit the ground, and did his best to keep pace with her. She was an excellent runner, but Gregor wasn't horrible enough to not be able to keep up with her at least for a while. He knew the speed was about to increase even more, and he prepared himself, taking in consistent breaths and completely forgetting about his running as he imagined walking through the clouds.

Epona finally reached her running point, galloping so fast. Her mind went blank and all she could see were the obstacles she would have to dodge. All she could think of were Gregor's last words about flying. They lingered in the back of her mind as she felt weightless. She let out a big shriek, a strong shriek, somewhat eerie shriek, but it was a shriek of relief, abandon of her body.

Gregor could feel it, the air under his paws, as he rose and fell in a consistent stride. He seemed to blink in slow motion as the world passed by him faster than he could comprehend. After a couple moment he heart Epona's shriek and let the sound fill his body. Though the sound was blood chilling, Gregor felt some what invigorated by the sound. He could feel a power welling up inside him, a great sound built up in the back of his throat, but he would not let it go. It wasn't until the feeling of sheer power and excitement finally built up inside him, beyond bursting point, that he let it go int a giant howl. His call could not rival Epona's in the way that her's was purely wild, but it was actually somewhat warm and soothing, it seemed to drag out as though floating through the air. Just as suddenly as it started, the sound stopped, and Gregor's ears, still ringing from the recent calls, was bombarded by silence. It was strange... hearing nothing... except the wind singing past his ear.....

Epona's conscience was stepping in and out. Often it felt like she was dreaming, flying by and by and throught he trees. And sometimes she knew she was there with Gregor having a wild and beautiful run. When she heard him howl, she felt strength, she felt total abandon of her body. She had never taken a step back to look at herself in abandonment and feeling it through another dragonfly's voice was very enlightening. She jumped off a mound in her path and neighed some more, trying to induce a response from Gregor.
