User ImageFrom a far, the lone shape on top of the cliff that protruded out to sea from the dark eeriness of the forest would be considered nothing more than a strange shadow cast by one of the trees. Yet upon closer inspection, the lone shape could be made out to be a young mare, her dark brown pelt contrasting sharply with the whiteness of the snow and her bright blue eyes dancing as she looked up.

Stars twinkled in the dark velvety sky above stretching as far as the light blue eyes could see, up until they got swallowed by the ocean waves to the north and the tiny tree tops in the far north. The chilly night wind blew tossed the little brown filly's short cropped brown hair with an odd shade of black to the side as she gazed up to the sky with wonder. She shivered slightly in the winter air, but aside from that, there was no sign of the chillness. The shivers might have come from her excitement than from the cold. The mere vastness of the sky, the world, the sea, everything, frightened her, thrilled her. It was so beautiful, terrible, thrilling...

A sheer giggle, like the twinkle of bells cut through the sound of waves crashing upon the bottom of the cliff. Miraculous, seeing the stars after so much time. It had snowed constantly through the previous nights so she couldn't see the glimmer of stars through the thicknesses of the clouds, not that that mattered now. All that mattered was that they were here now, smiling, twinkling down at her after what had seemed like years. It was strange how the stars could stir up one's soul so easily, could just let all the worries and thoughts wash away. Enchanting really. A grin spread on Astraea's face as she stared up at them, twinkling down at her.
