 Zerachiel stood at the edge of a stream taking a long cool drink. mane dripping wet as he lifted his head after he had his fill, he gave his mane a toss with a loud snort. he had already visited his mother and father while also geting to spend some time with his grandmother. a grin came to his face as he recalled the conversation he had with his grandmotherm even if he had been scolded a couple times. giving a chuckle to himself, he expected to have the day to himself since he knew how his brother reizt like his alone time and his sister well she was very tempermental as usual so he didnt need her hoofs kicking him in the rump for his pranks. shaking his head, he decided to relax under a tree for the time being until he decided on what to do next since today seemed so uneventful and well boring.

Like father, like son
That statement haunted the red-brown stallion every since the day his dear mother lashed out at Zaiden for reminding her so much like his own father who he could remember as a foal but haven't seen him every since he left the family. The infamous temper that have been passed down from Obsydian to his mother (and her sisters) to his brother, cousins and him flared up and he snapped back at his mother for flinging a huge insult (comparing him to his own father) at him. After seeing his mother's shocked and stricken expression, Zaiden immediately regretted some of the harsh words he flung at her and with a hastily made excuse, Zaiden turned around and fled but Zaria's stricken expression remained behind his eyelids and the insults she flung at him stuck inside his mind. With a frustrated shriek, Zaiden disappears from Zaria's line of view and proceeds in punishing his body by running nonstop while picking fights with kalonas. The temper of his refused to die as he fled from his most recent fight with a kalona and the fury blazes in his amber eyes while he weaves through the forest without slowing down so he won't smash into the trees.
For the next few days, Zaiden refused to stop running even to eat or drink or rest his abused body. The stallion knows that he is being followed by a small group of kalonas that is biding their time, waiting for Zaiden to finally collapse so they could swarm in like a flock of vultures and it encouraged him to run more faster and promptly vanishes into the shadows. Zaiden feels confident that he have eluded the group of kalonas, he began to slow down as his oxygen-starved body shrieked in protest. With a defiant hiss toward his body, Zaiden lurches forward out of the forest, stumbling toward the stream not caring that other soquilis is not there as long as they don't make the hair on back of his neck rise. Almost delirious with hunger and thirst, Zaiden collapses in front of the stream with his muzzle buried in the cold refreshing water while his throat went into overdrive mode, gulping down the water like there is no tomorrow. After few minutes of gulping water down, Zaiden winces as he slowly moves his head away from the stream toward the grass nearby and little growl escapes his throat because the grass is out of his reach.
The stallion's body refused to cooperate and whenever Zaiden tries to drag himself over to the patch of tall grass, his legs feels like rubber and wobbled then sends him crashing back to the ground with an explosive grunt ripped out of his throat. With a groan in defeat, Zaiden collapses back down on the ground and finally realized that he is not alone. With a grunt, he lifts his head up exhaustedly and glowers balefully at Zerachiel, knowing that he will mock Zaiden for showing any weakness but at this point he doesn't care. "Go ahead, Zerachiel. Mock me. Make fun of me. Tell me that I am just like my pathetic father Pilgrim. Degrade me so I am lower than the dirt I am laying on." His disdainful voice rasps out since he haven't talked for few days except for harsh breathing that is ripped right out of his oxygen-deprived lungs.

Zerachiel had a raised brow as he watched his foolish cousin collapse pretty much right in front of him. giving a wrinkle of his muzzle in disgust, he couldnt beleive his cousin would allow himself to get in such a pityful condition. upon hearing his cousin's words, he gave a roll of his eyes and didn't even bother to move from his spot since there was no need for him to get up or so thats how he saw is regardless of his cousin being totaly exhausted. " oh shut up Zaiden, i don't need to waste my breath on someone in such a pityful condition. can't beleive your foolish enough to get like that and we both know the lecture you would get if my mother, your mother or our grandparents saw you right now. be happy you didn't end up collapsed infront of them to be spared their lecturing." giving a snort, he was blunt and brutal to his cousin though less hostile than he had been to him in the past when they where kids. zer had a distaste for the idiotic Pilgrim who Zaiden looked almost a clone of except for the strips and mane/tail color but that didnt stop zer from giving his cousin a hard time. " now get your pityful a** up off the ground."

Zaiden knew that Zerachiel won't pussyfoot around just like his own mother and grandmother but that doesn't stop the stallion from seething in fury because he is very weak right now from running nonstop for few days. He noted the disgust etched in Zerachiel's face which echoes the disgust he is feeling right now for being weak and not being able to surge forward in Zer's face like he want to so badly. "You just wasted your breath." Zaiden scathingly retorted as he manages to get his head and neck off the ground and sits up on his stomach with his front legs positioned to push his ragged body off the ground.
"I do not owe you any explanation to why I am in this pitiful condition but I will warn you that the group of kalonas is probably on their way over here, following my scent." His raspy voice says as he struggles to get up but his body continues to feel like boneless bag of flesh. After few tries, Zaiden managed to stand up while swaying slightly due to sudden blood rush to his head and he slowly wobbles over to the patch of grass, devouring any grass in his path like it is his last meal. Zaiden completely ignores Zerachiel while he replenishes himself on grass and water, letting the life and fight slowly return to his body. With experimental steps, Zaiden moves toward Zerachiel slowly with determined glint in his eyes.
Zaiden is determined to prove to Zerachiel that he is not weak like Pilgrim and is not pitiful and he is going to prove that by fight his cousin. He knows that he is not at his full strength and will get his a** handed back to him on silver platter but he is determined to try. "I am strong, I am resilient just like all of the soquilis before me in this bloodline. I am the steel no enemy can break, I am the death the enemies will learn to fear." Zaiden whispers, half delirious from sleep-deprivation.

Zerachiel gives a tsk and lazyly gets to his feet as he watchs his cousin. " your not storng at all, your foolish, reckless, and pityful. you proved that to me by geting in this condition and having kalona hunting your a** down." he walked past his cousin and stopped to get a quick sip of water before speaking more. " thanks for the information though. i will be sure to make it safely home to tell the news that you killed because of your foolish actions. even i know better than to mess with kalona." giving a wrinkle of his nose in annoyance, he couldn't beleive how stupid his cousin was right now. " unless you can manage to contiune on to safety, your s**t out of luck Zaiden cause your not geting any help from me." but infact zerachiel knew he was helping him by using his words to force his cousin to get moving before they both where in trouble that they wouldnt beable to get out of. "now hurry your a** up or im leaving you behind." giving a toss of his mane, he started to walk off slowly on purpose just in case Zaiden did follow. oh his mother and aunt would be pissed if he allowed his cousin to get killed so he would make sure he wouldnt die but in his own way since he wasn't going to be soft on him.

Zaiden's hackles rises at Zerachiel's careless yet cruel comments but he knew that he is being egged to follow his cousin so the kalonas won't catch up with them. His legs wobbles like rubber as Zaiden struggles to move after his cousin and he grits his teeth as he feels his body giving out on him. The dull thud could be heard from Zerachiel's position, announcing that Zaiden is down once again. "Just get your butt over here and help me up. I haven't slept for long time and it is finally getting to me." Zaiden seethes as he hated to ask for help from his cousins.
With another explosive grunt, Zaiden manages to get back up off the ground but he sways around slightly due to the dizziness and exhaustion. "I know we haven't gotten along because of my father being weak in the family's opinion but if you don't help me, I will kick your a** from the moon and back if I do survive this." He says with a growl.

Zer gave a snarl at his cousin as he spoke. " i don't take orders and know i'm only going to help you because my mother would be pissed off at me if i never did." giving a snort, he went over to help support his cousin so they could get out of the area and to somewhere Zaiden could rest safely. oh how he hated helping weaklings but this was his cousin who is family so he felt oblegated to help him out other wise he wouldnt of lifted a hoof to help. " lets go before your stupid foolishness gets us both into some trouble."

Zaiden's temper is at its boiling point as everything starts to appear in shades of red when Zerachiel continues to insult him and all of the energy that was gone before came back with a rush. The string of curses spewed from his muzzle as he began to attack Zer, biting and kicking him whenever he can without realizing that he is running on almost no fuel at all. "I don't give &*$% if the kalonas gets here to pick me apart, you are going to DIE RIGHT NOW!" Zaiden exploded into action, attacking and giving it all while ignoring his oxygen-starved muscles screaming in protest.
