I've been trying rosetta stone. Feel weird talking to myself/pc. I do remember a few phrases but not many. For now I don't have enough free time to practice .

I have Rosetta Stone too. Do you feel like you don't know what you are learning half tyhe time? You know, where they give you a picture with a guy wearing a Tie dye shirt and they ask you for the color and you select blue and they say "NO! It was GREEN!" *laughs* What really helps me is being around Japanese students.

My friend gave me a "Survival Japanese" guidebook for me for Christmas. The idea was that I could learn a little bit of Japanese before I go there with my girlfriend in the undetermined future. IE: I don't know where I'm going, but I would love to write in Japanese. Hirigana and Kanji really look like art to me, and I'm into that kind of thing.
