The Rock field!
Tremors rippled forth from center-field as the basic floor shifted to a rock and dirt field, rock towers jutted forth from the ground to offer a place of escape or an attack advantage. The breeze from the stadium air conditioners stirred the loose sand on the field, this creates a mini sandstorm that could possibly blind those who were battling. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ROCK type attacks

Uh oh. Considering what type of pokemon their opponent was, Sienna and Frey were in trouble. Sienna shrugged it off as hatred of the dice gods bad luck and tossed Frey's pokeball in the air....
Only to have to land smack on her head, before her pidgeotto was released.
"Ouch! What was that for?" The trainer said, rubbing her bruising head.

The pidgeotto shot her a glare before circling around in the air. 'Rocks. Nice going, Sienna. Are you trying to make me lose.' Frey thought bitterly. Ever since their last battle, Frey had been acting more and more hostile and angry towards his trainer. He thought she was holding him back after all the battles they had lost.

Sienna didn't quite catch the glare and stared at her pokemon, confused at his behavior.

Luna, already on the opposite trainer platform, laughed at the actions of Sienna and Frey. It reminded her a lot of her relationship with Prince when He was a pidgeotto. Actually, Prince mostly behaved that way now.

Ram suddenly jumped into the field from his position behind Luna (the pokemon had been following the trainer all day in hopes of a battle), very excited to finally have some release after helping the girl fix up the Katarina gym for the whole morning.

Looking up at the pidgeotto, Ram began to feel his blood boil and let out a loud "DOOOOOOOOS!" to declare his presence.

"Hehe~Guess you're all ready to go Ram~"

"We should start with-"

Frey was already beating his wings, pent up rage from their last battle filling each stroke as feathers danced around the rocky stadium, most of the soft down aimed at the Cranidos below him. He didn't need Sienna to tell him to what to do. To start off with a Feather Dance no less.

Sienna was stunned and stopped mid sentence. Frey never acted like this before! Her call of "Frey what's wrong, is something bothering you?" was ignored by her pokemon as well.

The pidgeotto really was just like Prince, going off with his own attacks. But Luna knew that Ram could definately handle this. "Ancient power!" She retorted.

Ram wasted no time summoning rocks from the field to circle around him to increase his defense which made the cranidos feel slightly more secure as he felt some of his strength get sapped by the downy feathers that fell on him.

"Mirror Move!"

The pidgeotto spitefully ignored his trainer once more, but still used Mirror Move. Like Ram, Frey soon had rocks encircling him to raise his defense. Feathers left over from his Feather Dance still twirled through the air around him.


Despite following her command, Sienna still sensed Frey was unhappy with her. But how? He seemed to like her and listen to her just fine in all their previous battles. Where did she go wrong? The trainer blew a feather out of her face as she pondered this.

"Steel Wing!"

The pidgeotto spitefully ignored his trainer once more, but still used Steel Wing. Frey flew towards his opponent, still powered by rage on wings that had taken on a shiny, steel-like appearance and hardness. He left a trail of twirling left over feathers from his Feather Dance in his wake on his way to strike at Ram.


Despite following her command, Sienna still sensed Frey was unhappy with her. But how? He seemed to like her and listen to her just fine in all their previous battles. Where did she go wrong? The trainer blew a stray feather out of her face as she pondered this.

THe pidgeotto was coming at a close range at the ground which means that Ram could reach it. The only problem now was speed. Ram was a strong pokemon, but not exactly the fastest pokemon. But they could always work around that. "Ram! Ancient power!"

As Ram ducked out of the direct range of Pidgeotto's razor sharp wings, getting a slight cut across his back, his eyes glowed and a mischevious smirk danced onto the fossil pokemon's face. Jagged sharp rocks from right below the low-altitude Frey shot up to impale the bird.

Frey ignored the pelting he received on his belly feathers from the Ancient Power and with a powerful down stroke of his wings propelled himself upward.

"...Steel Wing again!" Sienna said half heartily. Something was wrong and she still couldn't figure out what it was. A stone of negative and worried feelings settled itself in the pit of her stomach.


The Pidgeotto fell into a stoop, snapping open his wings mid-dive to reveal the glowing steel-likeness of his wings once more, ready to strike again at Ram.

Luna frowned at the obviously internal problems Sienna and Frey had, it was apparent from the hostility by Frey and the obvious lack of enthusiasm from Sienna. Well, hopefully this gap would make them stronger...if they ever worked it out. "Ram! Block his path! Ancient power!"

Ram let out a particularly loud yell of "DOS!", commanding a large boulder to come between Frey and himself. Using the boulder as a distraction, Ram sprinted behind another pillar as a safety precaution for Frey's next attack.

Frey avoided the boulder by veering sharply upwards, until he was circling high above the field. The Pidgeotto fell into another stoop, wings glowing with a metal sheen once more. He was determined to prove his trainer was holding him back by winning this battle!

Sienna didn't even bother calling out Steel Wing again. She needed to talk to talk to the pidgeotto and figure out what was up. If he continued to ignore her she didn't know what she would do. What did she do to make him so miserable with her? On top of it all, she was embarrassed as a trainer that she couldn't even control her own pokemon.

The Pidgeotto dive-bombed out of the air, wings as hard as steel as he flapped and sliced at the Cranidos.

Luna continued to hold in the urge to say something about her opponent's teamwork - or lack of it actually. Instead, she settled for ordering another ancient power attack from her cranidos who could care less about his opponent's feelings. He just wanted to win.

Ram was glad he was next to a pillar since it gave him a brilliant idea. As the pidgeotto's wings sliced through half the pillar (and narrowly grazed his side), Ram jumped up and smacked the top half of the rock with his tail to send it flying at Pidgeotto's back as the bird flew away.

The pidgeotto flew away quickly and recklessly, pelted again with rocks from the cranidos's Ancient Power attacks. He flew straight up once more, soaring vertically close to one of the rocky stadium walls. Frey didn't even noticed how risky it was, even with his rage burning down a tiny bit.

"Frey we're a team! You gotta listen to me so we can work together!...There's no 'I' in team!" The trainer finished weakly. Would he finally cool down and listen to reason? "You should get away from that wall though, and keep it up with those Steel Wings...you're doing great!"

Frey considered what she had to say, but continued flying alongside the wall, eventually reaching the top and flying upside down before completing a full loop towards Ram. He flew on steel wings again, aiming to hit Ram once more.

"Hmm..." Luna thought to herself, feeling a twinge of sympathy for the other team. And that pidgeotto really should have listened to his trainer. Well, at least she would feel no regret ordering her next move - "Use ancient power on those rocks Ram!"

The cranidos knew he would need to hurry with his attack because Frey was quickly approaching. His eyes glowed with energy as he summoned the rocks to shoot out at Frey's back again. The back would be a major weak spot if the bird pokemon even slightly hesitated to listen to his trainer's warnings to dodge.

Ram slammed his body low onto the ground to avoid the bulk of Frey's attack, again escaping with minor scratches on his back. He felt a "whooosh!" of wind pass by him from Frey followed by several more "whoosh!"s from the rocks he had sent after the bird pokemon.
