Eviotil Snorted. It was rather boring, the forest was never that entertaining. Looking around her as she chewed through the bones of her recent catch it was bright and gray. She licked her muzzle and smirked. They always tasted better when they didn't suspect that they were to end up as her meal.

Her ears twitched as she heard noises in the background, there was nothing unusual so far, red eyes stared dully at the surrounding area. Being a Kalona she was bored, the most excitement had been the kill earlier, the horrified look, the screaming, now it had subsided, and there was nothing else to do. Eviotil loathed boredom. Standing, she walked to a nearby stream to wash away the last of the blood and get a drink. Her hoof beats were like thunder as she walked, she was much larger than other Soquili, her size could be compared to that of a Clydesdale, and in her own way she was just as majestic. She had yet to run into any males that were large enough to use, and she intended on having several foals. A veritable army, to use to her whims. It was a pleasant thought, to her twisted mind at least.

Soraven loved the forest. There were so many different creatures to see, and so many various forms of plant life. The trees shaded you from the harsh afternoon sunlight, and provided food. One could owe their entire life to those sheltering branches. Though the only sound she heard at the moment was the trickling sound of water, she knew that the forest was alive around her. It had been oddly quiet for a bit, and it kept her on her guard. When the forest was quiet, it meant that there was danger, and she had learned to listen to it and learn from it. So her steps were careful as she headed to the stream from a drink of water. Her white coat made her stand out a bit in the forest, and her blue mane and tail didn't help her blend in, but this was her home.

Her ears pricked up and momentarily she stopped drinking. Delicate footsteps coming...towards her. She glanced up and caught the glimpse of a white Soquili's legs. Oh goody. Something to play with. In her mind she purred, it was rare to see others out here, this far from the usual lands.

Eviotil continued to drink, her wings twitched a bit a few feathers falling down and seeming to burn the grass they had landed in, blackening the ground. She would be sweet. Light hearted, and gentle, before she went in for the kill. Easy target, That is what she thought as she pretended not to hear the other mare's approach.

Soraven continued forward, and stopped as her eyes met the mare drinking from the stream. Thin feathered wings connect to a purple-white coat with strange markings on them. She had what looked like a finned serpentine tail, and thorny horns protruded from her forehead. Another thing Sora couldn't help but notice was how Big the mare was. She stood at least a shoulder higher then herself. She could see now why the forest was quiet, especially with this one here. She looked like a Kalona, though not of any breed she recognized. Maybe it was a cross-breed. Though she knew to be careful of them. Kalona's were dangerous, even as foals.

Soraven made her way to the stream a little farther down from the mare, and dipped her muzzle into the cool water, making herself appear calm, even though a light blue eye constantly watched the other.

The mare was cautious. That was not a good sign. Damn.

Eviotil looked up before her and looked puzzled, as if she didn't recognize the noise that flitted in her ears. Looking over at the white mare she seemed to start a little. It wasn't entirely feigned surprise. Before her stood a white and blue unicorn. That alone was a rare sight. Eh! You gave me a start. Her voice though her looks were harsh, and other worldly was sweet and light sounding. Her head tilted to one side as red eyes examined the unicorn a bit more closely. Did she have...raindrops on her rump? Eviotil bit her tongue not to laugh.

It's rare to see others this side of the forest. Might I ask if you are perhaps...lost? The tone was lightly curious and entirely too polite.

Well, there is no need to be rude, thought Soraven as the other mare haled her. and maybe she's different from her kind. Are there not exceptions to every rule? Sora lifted her muzzle from the water, and smiled to the other. No, I'm not lost. I actually live around here, though I haven't been here long. Is this your home forest perhaps? I haven't seen any other Soquili around here, so I was sure it was deserted besides for the smaller animals.

She smirked inwardly, sweetness always lulled them into that nice, comfortable, easy to abuse trusting state. Oh, yes. Well, you could say I live around here. I tend to stick to the shadows with how I look though. Creatures see what I am and tend to run for fear I'll eat them. She chuckled, not a word of it was lies.

Eviotil looked as though she was thinking, I think perhaps I've seen some Soquili at the edges, but they hardly venture in here unless they're passing though. Fear of a nasty spirit or something from the rumors the rabbits have heard. Yes, she spoke with rabbits, they were not only a source of food, but a source of information. She was friendly enough with them that they didn't ask questions when the messenger they sent never returned. Though I'm not sure how trustworthy a rabbits word is, considering they're a bit hare brained.

She smirked and moved closer to the other Soquili, her hooves making thunderous noise though she stepped gently. Her long tail swayed behind her looking more like a weapon than a tail. Her wings flicked, feathers falling from them again, burnt spots appearing where the feathers fell. She looked lethal and she was, of course that was after one had served their purpose. I must say you are a rare sight. You're a unicorn Soquili, if my eyes do not deceive me.

I can understand why you would stay in the shadows then. It's never fun to be judged on appearances alone. She couldn't help but agree with the comment about the rabbits. She had met a few, and they usually seemed to be that way; concerned over one thing or another, and never really getting anything done. Yes, I am a unicorn Soquili. I didn't think we were all that rare. I have seen several others running about. Haven't had a chance to speak with them though.

No, it wasn't fun to be judged for how one looked. But being a Kalona...and a mutant, she knew very well how it was, That was why every creature she came across became pawns...became prey. Eviotil smiled at the unicorn mare, Should I take that as you haven't chatted with much of anyone around her yet? That was a little odd, most unicorns ran in herds. Sticking to their own kind, and hardly traveling alone. Perhaps there was something odd about this mare...Something unusual.

Eviotil scrutinized the mare before her a little more intently, she seemed like the usual sort. Pretty, well kept...Braided hair, a dream catcher around her neck. She back tracked a little, a dream catcher? Not as...usual as most. Perhaps it was the coloring of the mare that was odd. Shaking her head she smiled, This mare hasn't chatted with anyone yet, she has no link to the outside world, all the easier to take advantage of. Her tail flicked, catching a random flying insect and slicing it in half.

Soraven shook her head. No, I haven't spoken with anyone around here yet. Because I haven't found anyone to talk to yet. You, are actually the first i have ever met here. She turned and put her muzzle back into the water to drink.

Eviotil smiled a little more darkly, Ah, well, I am pleased to make your acquaintance then. I am Eviotil ver Spitfire, and..I've been here for a few...months, traveling here and there. Watching others from a distance mostly. She bowed her head, feeling a bit odd with the fact that she'd taken the initiative to introduce herself. It was out of character, but then this was the first Soquili that hadn't run screaming from the sight of her.

She raised her muzzle from the water, and grinned. My names Soraven! It's a pleasure to meet you Eviotil ver Spitfire. She nodded to the other mare. I've been traveling around myself for a while, so I know what it's like. Though, I haven't met any other soquili to speak with. She raised her muzzle to the wind.

Her head tilted, Soraven? Interesting name. As she mulled over the name, as well as the mare's reactions, Eviotil started to come to a very odd conclusion. Soraven was not scared of her, in any manner, even when Eviotil noted that her own actions would cause others to run in fear, this mare was...unchanging.

So either this mare was stupid, or she had noticed the rather alarmingly menacing little things she'd done, and didn't care. This was confusing to one who was used to intimidating others, and lulling them into a false confidence then wrecking their lives. Perhaps I've been around rabbits far too long... It was...completely throwing her off with how nonchalant Soraven was acting. Shaking her head to clear it she refocused on her goal. Pawn. That was what this Soquili would be. Do you have a place to rest near by? If I am correct, the sun will be setting soon, and some of the creatures that roam here are not too pleasant. Concern was always a good ploy, and the unicorn mare being smaller, should be scared of things like cougars and other predators.

Soraven nodded absently. Yes, you can feel evening heavy in the air. I have a thicket a few trots away. I'm sure you have your own place that you call home. Especially since you've been here for a couple of months. She looked at Eviotil and grinned. I've never met those unpleasant creatures yet, though I'm sure hoping that I never do. I like myself and anyone I meet staying in tact. Her grin widened a bit.

Eviotil blinked. Who or what in their right or wrong mind would go after something that was as huge as she was? Nothing. That grin was perplexing her, and she opened her mouth to speak, then closed it. Thinking for a few more moments she finally spoke, You are the strangest creature I've met. Usually that would have been kept to inner dialogue, but the nature of this unicorn mare was simply too unsettling for Eviotil to not comment.
