Seal of Waterdeep

Settings/Places
The City of Waterdeep on the continent of Faerun.
City Map

Places of Note in Waterdeep
-City of the Dead
"The City of the Dead is the place in Waterdeep where most dead are buried. Individual graves were replaced with tombs in 1250 DR, due to a lack of space. Two years layer, in 1252 DR, a wall was built to contain the growing number of undead, who were causing problems in other nearby wards."
-Castle Ward
" The Castle Ward of Waterdeep lies at the center of the city. It encompasses Mount Waterdeep, its castle, and much of the government of the city."
-Dock Ward
" The dock ward is is situated on the Great Harbor of Waterdeep. It contains the docks, shipbuilding yards, and warehouses for the sea trade. Compared to the rest of the city it is exceptionally dirty, smelly and particularly dangerous."
-Skullport
" Skullport (the Port of Shadows) is a teeming hive of evil that lies deep beneath Waterdeep, on the third underground level of Undermountain. Considered part of the Underdark, it is a lawless place of slave traders, pirates, and demi-humans, which traffic with illithids, drow, beholders and other less savory creatures beneath the surface. "

Plot
Waterdeep, the City of Splendors, has always been an area of intrigue and untold mysteries. There have always been strange things at times, and it is a part of everyday life in the lavish city. However, people have been dissapearing at an ever growing rate, and there are whispers among the local taverns and homes of a new power that even the Lords of Waterdeep do not know anything about. It is now up to intrepid adventurers and heroes to find out the problem and solve it. They may just be way over their heads.

The journey begins in a small tavern in the Docks Ward of Waterdeep..

{The Name I was Given}-Aliendra Tuuldustan-
{The Name I go By}-Endra-
{My Heritage}-Half elf-
{My Years}-22-
{My Profession}-Bard-
{I Worship}-Tymora-
{I Appear As}-Standing at 5 feet 1 inch tall, Aliendra is a bit shorter than the elven average. She received her mothers slim frame, and her fathers paler skin and red hair. She keeps her hair short to her shoulders, and has it in a ponytail most of the time. Her eyes are lily pad green from her wood elven mother. Her face is fine-boned and slightly aquiline, with a elegant rosy mouth that is usually curved in a mischevious grin, a slim jaw, and brows that arch gently to give her face a determined look. She usually dresses in good traveling clothes, as she is a wandering bard that travels all across Faerun. They consist of the normal leather gear of a jerkin, breeches, boots, and bracers, all well made but patched in some small places. She has a Bag of Holding hanging from her belt, and a small hand drum on the same side. A lute is strapped to her pack. Along with her jade pendant, a small magical silver flute hangs under her shirt and low around her neck. At her left hip, she carries a slim short sword. It is enchanted to do magical damage to whatever she strikes at, and glows when danger is close.-
{I Act}-Alie is a rather interesting individual. She loves any sort of fun, and has little concern for authority. If there is a prank to be done, or a party to be at, Alie is always first in line, her razor sharp wit in hand. She enjoys drinking, preforming in front of any size of crowd and playing games of chance. She is wanton and wild in her habits, and barding is one of the only things she ever really stuck with. Her mothers hands off approach of parenting let her be rather wild. However, one could not ask for a better traveling companion or friend. She is loyal, wise beyond her years, and quick with a joke or song to raise moral and cheer up a comrade.-
{I Am}-Aliendra was raised in the city of Neverwinter by her mother, Sheris Tuuldustan. Her father died before her birth, so she never met him. Her mother was a ranger of sorts, so the woman spent a good amount of time outside of the city. Aliendra learned much of her woodcraft from her mother. At 10, she discovered her love for music in the form of snatching up a lute a drunken minstrel had left behind. It had been an old, worn thing, but she loved it immensely. Alie could barely pluck any notes, but set herself to learning the craft. Her mother arranged music and voice lessons for her daughter, as well as lessons in history and magic so her daughter could follow her dream of barding. The mother and daughter were friends, but little alike, though her mother was very supportive of her dream. At 16, Aliendra decided it was time to leave the roost, so with her mothers blessing, she joined on a caravan that was headed to Silverymoon, and began to make her way as a Bard. The rumors of the disappearances and rewards for solving the issues drew her to Waterdeep, and here she is.

{The Name I go By}-Dan-
{My Heritage}-Half Elf-
{My Years}-23-
{My Profession}-Warrior-
{I Worship}-Torm-
{I Appear As}-User Image-
{I Act}-Dan is one of those strong, silent types. He speaks only when he needs to, and dispenses wisdom and words only when he needs to. Even though he is complete opposite of Aliendra, he has developed a soft sport for her, and is very protective of his friend and traveling companion. He is respectful of those who deserve it, but keeps his own council unless asked to share his thoughts.-
{I Am}-Dan was born and raised in the city of Silverymoon. His mother was the elf, while his father was human. From an early age, he showed skill with a blade, and was enrolled in classes by his parents so that, apart from learning life skills and such, he would learn how to defend himself. He turned out to be a smart and scrappy fighter, and it was rare for him to be beaten in a duel.
At 17, he met Aliendra after she came in from a caravan, and was enchanted by the idea of traveling. He'd lived in a city all his life, and so with the Ok from his parents, left with her within a few weeks. The half-elven pair of adventurers scoured the land, digging up what trouble they could, and solving problems for gold as they lived the lives of Sellswords. In one scenario of raiding an old tomb, Dan found his enchanted sword, Elexorien. It has a myriad of abilities, most of which he does not know.
After many adventures, the two decided to journey to Waterdeep for yet another adventure, a quest for coin, glory and whatever else they could stir up.

{The Name I was Given}-Teagan-
{The Name I go By}-Tea-
{My Heritage}-Half elf-
{My Years}-21-
{My Profession}-Mage-
{I Worship}-Rillifane Rallathil-
{I Appear As}-User Image-
{I Act}-Teagan is rather good-hearted and bubbly, though she does have a hint of shyness about her. Ever since her brother went missing, she's become a bit of a coward, which is to be expected after such a loss. She doesn't really take to strangers, unless they strike her as truly good people. Overall, she's very kind, sensitive, but wary.-
{I Am}-Teagan and her brother Gilbereth lived together in the countryside for most of their lives. There they had a cabin, which they shared with their father of sorts. Their mother had died after catching an odd sickness, causing their father to turn his back from the world with a heart full of grief. Once their father became quite abusive, Gilbereth arranged their escape, and together the brother and sister escaped to Waterdeep. They were both sixteen years old.
They had family there who welcomed them in with open arms. Teagan and Gilbereth were soon given positions in their sundries shop, where they earned their living and began life anew. When the twins were twenty, Gilbereth went missing. No one knows how, or where, or if he's even alive, but Teagan is shattered.

It was early night, and a large ship had just docked into the Docks Ward of Waterdeep. Her sails were elegant and blue, while the ship itself was made out of strong, dark wood that refused any sort of leak into it's hull. The sailors were a bit of both merchant and pirate whenever the situation called for either side. Most of the time, they were merchants, carrying precious cargo of Calimshan silks, Tethyrian furniture, and many different types of non perishables and liquor.

This night however, among their cargo, they carried two travelers. Both were half-elven, though one was of warrior inclination and the other was a Bard. Both of them were trusted among the crew, their skills saving them from many a pirate and sea monster. The Bard was a diminutive half-elven lady with short, wild red hair and a love for bawdy songs, tavern hopping, and making as many jokes as she could within an allotted time. The other was a male half-elf, tall and dark haired, and the opposite of his companion. He was silent, and spoke only when needed, preferring to speak with his incomparable skills with a blade.
They'd been an adventuring pair for nearly 7 years now, and were rather famous around the Sword Coast. Now, they were out on another crazy adventure to rid Waterdeep of a rather bad problem.

" Night, and thanks again Runal!" Aliendra called behind her to the captain as herself and Dan disembarked.
" Not'all, Endra! Thank'ee for takin care 'o that titchy monsta!" The captain gave a cheery wave that the others returned before he spun to bark orders at his crew.

Aliendra beamed up at her companion before they headed down the street, on the look for a tavern to spend the night in.

" Well, here we are. Waterdeep, City of Splendors..." She rubbed her hands together in anticipation.
" I wonder what we can get out of it."
Dan rolled his eyes at her as they continued down the street.

The sundries shop where Teagan worked had been quite busy all day. So many people were coming ashore from goodness knew where, and all of them were in great need of supplies, chitchat, and, unfortunately, a good argument. On more than one occasion that day, her aunt Misselthwaite had come barging out of the backroom, hollering incredible threats that made even the most seasoned of sailors shrink back. It made Teagan very on-edge, as she truly didn't like confrontation and was more inclined to just let them all have their way rather than fight back.

If only Gilbereth were there, she thought sadly. The two of them could run the counter and the tea shop like clockwork. He would protect her from the unsavory glances and advances of sailors, and she would deal with the situations that required a delicate touch. Yes, they were quite the team. And then he was gone.

The end of the day came, finally, when Aunt Missy came to relieve her niece of her duties. She had been making all the teas and small breads in a behind-the-scene fashion, but Teagan had been in charge of doing the delivering.

"Teagan dear," her human aunt said with the utmost love, "You've had quite the day. Go on, now, love, go and have a bit o' tea or somethin' to ease your nerves." As if to seal the deal, she handed over a cup of peppermint tea, and ushered her softly to a table by the window. The shop was just closing, and no one was coming inside anymore.
Without a second glance, she took her place, and released a very deep, sad sigh. What a day, she thought. What a day.

The pair hurried up the street, occasionally chattering, though it was more Aliendra speaking and Dan nodding than anything else.
" If we stop now, we won't have to tomorrow. C'mon, Dan, who knows what would happen?" Alie pointed out, trying to persuade her friend to stop at a supplies shop now.
" You're only saying that because you won't want to in the morning, on account of a hangover." He sent his companion a shrew look as they stopped outside a shop. Alie flushed, but otherwise looked unabashed.
" Your point being?" She gestured to one across the deserted lane.
" They look like they're still open. C'mon, lets go, lets go." She placed her hands on the small of his back and marched him forward, chattering amiably as if this didn't look off at all. Dan simply sighed and contemplated bonking her on the head, though he adopted a more civil manner as Alie poked her head in.
" Excuse me, you wouldn't happen to still be open, would you?" Her voice was gentle and innocent sounding, completely at odds with her personality.

Teagan jumped two feet in her seat when Alie posed her question, sending a small wave of peppermint onto her hand.
"Uh...!" With the speed of someone used to cleaning up such tables, Teagan took her napkin, wiped up the mess, and stood with a professional stance. "Yes! Yes, we're still open..."

Anxiously her eyes went to the counter where her Aunt should have been, but saw that she had once more disappeared behind the scenes, probably to tend to the biscuits which she was sure were burning, judging by the smell.

Ah, she thought. Things never did end.
But, she turned to the visitors with what she hoped was a sure smile before making her way to the counter.
"What do you need? We may be a little short on some things. It's been a busy day."

Aliendra clapped her friend heartily on the back.
" I'm sure you can handle it!" She said, before looking over to browse the shelves. Eiridan rolled his eyes.
" Don't break anything." He returned lightly, knowing Alie would make a face at him.

He took a moment to think before rattling off a list of supplies they would need.

" Twelve yard rope, if you got it. If not, then we'll go with eight. Six of those dried fish, 3 packets of dried fruit, two lanterns, and four score of arrows, plain, not barbed if you please." He waited for her to catch up his quick rattle before he continued, glancing at Alie every so often to make sure she wasn't hurting anything.
