Alanis pranced about through a green grassy field, a content smile played about her eyes. Her tiny butterfly-like wings fluttered, as she floated above the ground a few feet before falling gently back to earth. "Not yet," she whispered to herself. Though it was better than the day before.
Alanis continued on through the field, until she came to the edge of a thick forest. The trees towered above her, but instead of looking scary, it actually looked inviting. With one last look back at her usual favorite spot, she ventured into the forest.
In there waited the girl she was bound to.

The sun twinkled off the small river that cut though the forest. Zarius was out stretching his legs that morning; enjoying the fresh air. Each morning, rain or shine, he would be out in this area leaping from tree limb to river bank. He was quite agile for a demon his size. He never considered himself ‘fat’ but he was larger than the other demons his age that were summoned to his bonded, Pandora Talie.
Zarius leapt up onto a low lying branch. It was nothing new to him but today it didn’t work out as he had planned. He never noticed a small hold in the branch where his foot landed so when he leapt towards the river bank one of his claws got stuck in it. With a loud crash and splash he was bottom up in the shallow river. He was soaked from head to toe and his left, back knee got banged up. “Owwwww! Aaaaaa!” he hobbled out of the water.

Alanis pranced about, she did that a lot because she thought it made her look elegant. With that thought in her head she giggled to herself. She soon came to a river bank, a familiar land mark she passed nearly every day on her way to her bonded, Camille.
Alanis jumped as she heard a loud splash. Usually there wasn't anyone else in the forest whenever she came through. She felt a bit scared, with the possibility of the source of the splash being a wild animal.
Though still her curiousity was stronger than her fear, and she ventured to find where it came from. It was then Alanis heard the whining, or maybe a cry from pain. She hurried thinking someone might be in trouble and came to find a male winiko. He was soaked, and it looked as though he had hurt himself from falling, as she apporoached him from behind.
"Do you need help? Are you hurt?" Alanis asked in a kind, soft voice as not to spook him with her sudden appearance. Of course he was hurt, she thought to herself, he's limping for heaven's sake.

Making it onto the bank he turned to face her with a concealed smile. “What brings such a beautiful goddess to grace my very presence this fine morn?” She took his breath away. Trying to hide the fact his knee throbbed painfully and that he was extremely embarrassed at the moment, he walked over in her direction; giving his mane a small rustle on the way. “I think I can die happy now, cause I've just seen a piece of heaven!” Charmer he was. Good at he was not.

Alanis smiled and blushed, her cheeks a pink glow against the dark blue. "You flatter me so. Thank you," she dipped her head in a greeting. It was sort of a habit to be old fashioned with her. Since she couldn't courtsey, bowing or dipping her head was the best way.
"You're a very charming and handsome one as well," Alanis moved closer to him as he came her way. She knew his knee was sore, and she didn't want him in pain. "Your mane is very lovely. The silver accents it well, are you maybe a king of some sort? You do look the part." Alanis tried to compliment him as he did her, but she was having trouble coming up with things to say. He really was handsome, that she wouldn't dare lie about. "But if you die, how could I follow?" Alanis asked and smiled warmly. Already she liked him a lot. Again she dipped her head, but it was only a fraction,"It's a pleasure to meet you. What might your name be, if you don't mind me knowing."

Zarius didn’t expect to hear such good words come back from her about him. Most women usually shrug him off, turn up a chin and go on their merry way. “A king I am not but a king I could be for you my lady!” he swayed close to her. If his knee wasn’t so banged up it would have worked out better. “I am named Zarius and it’s a pleasure to meet you as well sweet angel.” He reached for her paw and kissed it.

Alanis smiled, "Well it is a pleasure to meet you Zarius." Her wings fluttered in response to his kiss. She took a step and was at his side to help support him off of his hurt knee, her hip bumping into his lightly. "I am Alanis, or you may call me anything that suits you." She smiled and looked at him more closely. "You've got wonderful eyes,"Alanis saw the yellow-ish amber that seemed to mix with a red-orange color to create something of a gold within the yellow pools.

This demon could not believe what he was hearing. Was she flirting with him? He was speechless for a moment. "Ummm Aaaaaa thanks!" She was hot. Call her anything he wanted eh? He pondered over names but decided he would rather keep them to himself for the greater good. He chuckled. "SoOOooo what brings you out this way?" he flicked his hair out of his face.

Alanis stood there and listened. She didn't want to bore him to death. Time and time again she'd been told she talked too much, and the answer to his question was surely a long one. Alanis thought about how to chop it down and answered,"I usually cross the fields back that way," she turned her head back the way she had come form. "To come through here and find my bonded," Alanis wanted to explain more but kept her motuh shut. "And what brings you here?" she noticed how the light from above made him look god like. She was falling for him, she knew it too and loved how sexy he looked.

“Aaaaa I see.” Zarius shifted his weight to his bad knee some more to test it. It was actually starting to feel a lot better. Thank goodness for being a demon. If he wasn’t it would probably take three or four days before it got better. “I come out here to run actually.” He chuckled. “Nothing beats being out in the open with all this area to run around in.” He pointed with his paw to the area surrounding them. “So are you meeting up with your bonded soon?”

Alanis smiled softly and nodded in agreement. "To run through all of this must be wonderful, gliding from branch to branch through the tree tops has to make one feel as though they're flying," her mind had just caught up to what she had just said, and she blushed lightly. Alanis was self-concious about the way she talked, and tended to speak in riddles or through poetry. "Sorry, I uh. . .Tend to talk differently," she shied away as she turned her head to stare into space, before looking back at him. "I am actually, but it takes just about all day to find her. She's one to wonder a lot around the forest." Alanis found it rude that she had moved away from him without as much as a ridiculous reason, and came back to his side.

“It is quite wonderful! When you don’t hurt yourself.” He flexed his knee some. It was still a bit stiff but fairing well. “You don’t talk odd sweet blue belle!” Zarius said songlike. “Your bond to your human mustn’t be strong if you have to walk that whole way.” As much as he loved to run he would be quite irritated if he had to do that to find Pandora every time he had to. “So you haven’t tried to phase to your bonded?” he tapped his tail on the ground. “Most demons’ can appear where ever their bonded is. It’s pretty handy if they are in trouble.” He nodded. He never had to do such a thing with Pan yet. He hoped he never had to. “When you are summoned you share a connection.” He crossed his claws.

"I do agree," she paused for a moment and looked at his knee. "I hope your knee gets better," Alanis smiled. She knew that since they were demons, that they did heal quick. Hearing what he said next, she shook her head lightly with a slight smile. "It's nothing like that. I am bonded quite strongly to her, we just like our own time away from each other. She searches for me, and I search for her but we keep our distance while doing so. Near nightfall is when we usually find each other." Alanis loved the time to herself. If she wasn't out roaming around, she was either asleep or with Camille. "I've never phased, but I do know where she is at during all times of the day. Is it frightening the first time you try to phase?" she was curious and perked up, wanting to know if he'd ever phased to his bonded. "Have you ever phased?"

"I phase when I'm needed or if I'm in need to get to a place quickly..." He flicked his tail back and forth. "It was odd the first time I done it...I was small and ended up phasing myself on a roof!" he chuckled. "Then I couldn't get down. " blushing he grinned at her. "But then Pan got a ladder and came to my rescue. 'How embarrassing it was!" He shook his head and laughed once more. "But hey I was young and didn't know what I was doing." He put his weight on his knee and smiled. "I think I'm good to go now." Zarius bent his legs. "Race sweet lady?"

Alanis listened and laughed with him. She saw him blush and found it cute. A light rosy pink against the red of his skin was a beautiful contrast. "Well it must've been fun," she said smiling. "I'd probably end up like that, but first time is always amusing." Alanis stretched her legs, as she saw his was better. "Why not? I'm always up for a good run," she said fluttering her wings. They felt stiff and needed to move.
