Resana wandered through some bushes, in completely new territory. Hmm. Well, this was odd. Nothing she could smell was remotely familiar, other than the general scents of the trees and bushes, and the occasional fox or rabbit tracks. She scampered through another bush, searching for something interesting to hunt, or a cliff side. Still no cliff sides anywhere... She remembered vaguely a big, rocky cliff side near her old home. She must be verrry far.

As the pup scampered, Batool sniffed the air as she stood downwind from her, and once the black widow wolf figured Resana for a female pup, she began to trot in its direction. Keeping her head high, the female made sure not to startle the pup, stepping on a stick and breaking it as an announcement of her arrival.
"Lose your way?" She asked curiously, actual concern in her voice. It was rare to see a pup all alone with no other scents of wolves around, at least to her it was.
Batool stood still, waiting for a sign that this pup would allow her to come closer. She respected females, pup or otherwise, unless they wronged her.

Resana blinked, mid-hop through a bush. She skidded a little in the pine needles and dead leaves under her feet, the spun around "Huh?" she asked. Looking this way and that, it finally occurred to her that the voice had been coming from behind the bush she had just jumped through. She passes around it and blinked at the sight of Batool; another adult! Wait.. uh oh.. was she in pack territory? There hadn't been any border markings in the area, but maybe her nose just missed them.
It registered that Batool had in fact, asked her a question, and that she should probably answer and not stand there staring. "My way?" Resana repeated. "Um.. I don't think so, I didn't really have a way to start from..." she tilted her head, then stepped closer, to not have to talk so loud, across the distance "I was just um... wandering. It's sorta just what I do now." she grinned. This new wolf was pretty, Resana liked her markings. Her tail waved back and forth contentedly.

Since the pup closed the distance between the pair, Batool simply sat down and let her tail swish several times before settling around her. Her eyes were warm and she smiled the best a wolf could. "Do you not belong to a pack?"
If Resana didn't, this was good news for Batool, but if she did, it didn't hurt to make more female contacts. Especially while their minds were still young and impressionable. "My name is Batool, and it's a pleasure to meet you young lady." She said sincerely as she watched the pup.

"Oh! I'm Resana, miss Batool," She smiled a wolfish little smile, then looked at Batools' feet. Well, this subject was just going to be bound to come up now and again, wasnt it? "No.. well.. I was.. but.." she sighed heavily and sat. She feet like she was already four, with so much having happened already.. "well.. poachers came." she looked up into Batools red eyes "So.. I'm not in a pack anymore.. but I wanna be!" suddenly, the horrific past was gone, and only her excitement of knowing how a pack works showed through "My daddy and mama were the alphas, and I used to hang around our shaman a lot, she was really nice!" Resana stood again, so her tail could restart its' rapid swishes. "Are you in a pack Batool?" If she was in a pack, maybe they had space for Resana.. and even if she wasn't, maybe Resana and her could form one.. maybe Batool would even let Resana be some cool position.. like Beta.. or better yet, a Seer! Seers didn't have to have icky mates. Boys were stupid, Resana thought, remembering her big brother faintly.

Poachers? Batool didn't much care for them, in her mind if you killed a wolf you should then eat it unless a female. If a female betrayed one enough to merit death, she should still not be eaten. That and Batool felt males tasted better anyways. "I am sorry to hear this." She nodded respectfully for those females who had been killed.
"If you would like, I am in the process of gathering a pack, of all females if I can help it..." The black wolf paused, smiling down at the pup by her feet, "Of couse, a few must be there for breeding purposes, but that cannot be helped." Besides, the males that would be joining the pack would be hand picked and examined by her, like Axiom.
"Would you like to join?" she finally asked, making it clear that she would like this pup in her pack. Resana was excited, and she had contacts with seers and shamans, though Batool didn't know if she were one or not, she had spirit and Batool liked this.

Resana gave Batool a wide-toothed grin "Cool!" No boys?! Great! Resana still thought all boys were 'icky,' since she remembered her brother and his friends bothering her and being annoying. ..That, and she had yet to encounter a male wolf around her age since she'd begun her search for old pack members. "Yeah, I'll join!" shifting her feet exctiedly, she paused for a moment, and narrowed her eyes some, turning her muzzle to look at Batool from the side mischieviously "Y'think.. um.. well, maybe when I'm older.. I could have some cool spot? Like.. uh.. Beta? Or ..Or Shaman?!" she giggled and sat back, her tail swooping dead leaves aside. Being a shaman had always been her dream, especially since she hung out with her old packs' shaman so often, she naturally thought she'd become apprenticed one day. "Even Seer! Seer would be awesome too.." she thought aloud, adding on. Though her old pack didn't have a seer, a nearby pack or two had a shared seer, who would visit Resana's pack once in a while.. she didn't really know what a seer did, but figured it was similar to shaman work.

"I am sure that you will grow into an honorable position in the pack." Batool smiled to the brown pup, knowing very well that the pups would have to prove their rank as they grew. "And if you possess such powers, then yes, you may be one." She did not know much about seers and shaman to be honest, but if this pup had the potential and the powers, then this was a very promising pup.

Resana nodded. That was a good enough promise for her... She didn't really know what to expect from Batool. "So .. would you be the Alpha female, Batool?" she grinned at the red-spotted wolf "Cause if you arrrre.. who's the Alpha male?" The alphas would potentially become Resanas' surrogate mom and dad.. she remembered her own father seemed to be that way with their old pack members, related or not.

"Yes, and there will be no alpha male. There will be another alpha female however, one I have yet to find. The rank will remain vacant until I find one worthy." Standing up, Batool stretched and allowed her tail to wag slightly before speaking again, "But if all goes as planned Axiom will be around for a... father figure." The last two words were strained, but she felt that this pup needed reassurance that there will be a male around if needed for babysitting.

"Who's Axiom?" she asked. Not that she felt she needed guidance now, she was a big pup!- still, a boy, eh? Hmph.. "I mean, I dun need a father figure.. my daddy and our old shaman taught me how to take care of myself.." she stood taller, proud of herself.

"A wolf in my debt. He will be joining the pack only once it is set up and strong." She explained, a tone of authority said that the questioning of Axiom was over. Smile breaking slightly over her muzzle, Batool nodded to the pup. "And I will teach you even more." Eyes flickering to the sun for a consultation of the time, Batool stretched, as if preparing to go on again. "I must collect more quality wolves before heading to the packlands."

Resana nodded, then piped up, "Oh! Um.. where are the pack lands?" she looked towards the sun, wishing there was a breeze "Is there a cliff in the pack lands, by the way?" She hoped so. If not, maybe Batool would let them extend the territory to fit in some sorts of a cliff.. any open area where Resana could feel the wind would do, she had to be able to feel the wind. Would Batool have her follow, to show her into the packlands? And when she found the lands, would she have to set up a den, all by herself?

"The packlands are in a distant mountain range, and yes, there is a cliff." Batool paused as she looked over the young pup, as if thinking, before shaking her head, "It is too much of a journey alone, I will come back to you once it everything is done." She knew well what sort of journey it would be back home, and they weren't anything a pup could handle, even a strong one.
Giving the pup a sort of maternal nudge/nuzzle, Batool turned and left into the trees. Things were going well.
