This is a thread to kvetch about pop-up ads, TV commercials, banner ads, spam, and other forms of advertisement that really bug you, preferable ones that are somehow fat-related.
I eat Special K sometimes. I don't have a health reason, I just happen to like the taste of the cereal. As such, I am tired of being told on my cereal box or in special K commercials or in online banners how, with the magical power of special K, I can fit into that size four red dress! >.<
I also just saw some gaia banner ad with "Get rid of bad eating habits forever!" or something to that effect, that showed a guy dressed as a hamburger and a woman in work-out clothes holding two hand-weights with an expression of brain-damaged enthusiasm and delight. At the bottom of it was "discovery health". -_- Really? You've sunk that low, discovery channel?

Wow you're completely amazing with this. I guess I will just have to pay more attention to things around me.
I don't know, a lot of drink makers, like FUZE tell you how healthy their drinks are and what they do for you. And have lables like slenderize, vitalize, stuff like that. I just like the drink they taste good. But I must agree that everyone does make a huge issue over how skinny one must look to feel good about themselves and to buy so many products to make themselves suit into such an image.

I havent noticed anything on gaia but the ads on Myspace SUCK... Your specific age is somehow placed into some of the ads like "21 yrs old? lose weight now!". Other adds have before and after pics showing one girl with a small belly and the after pic of a very thin girl with no shape no hips or curves. The thing that bothers me even more is that many times you can clearly see that the female in the picture is not the same person.

Seeing that they are a completely different person in the after-affects. It makes me laugh. A lot. Just goes to show how much phail is spread within the ad community and how desperate they are for customers that they can't make a real success story out of their product. Oh, that and the fact that it doesn't work biggrin

I like Special K and tried that diet XD
I was hungry ALL the time! The cereal is good, but it has no appetite suppressant.. It's like torture.
Slim Fast > Special K
LOL, i cant believe Discovery Health endorses it XD

The Special K diet is really unhealthy. Basically they want you to eat one cup of it for break and lunch and then dinner is normal. Basically your likely to end up with only 1000 calories for the day and a lack of protein. And seriously, who stops at just ONE cup? That my little rant....

I hate those body slimmer commercials. They say how it'll make you lose all the lumps and bumps and make you this much slimmer... but they put the damn things on size 2 women for the commercial. =_=; honestly, it's stupid.
Also, Jenny Craig can kiss my a**. Like I'd pay a s**t ton of money for frozen food.
