Ok, The previous Anime topic has been deleted somehow, so I am remaking it. I will list ALL the animes I have watched, and eventually reviews on them. Wether they are Suitable, or Unsuitable(some are personal opinion, but thing like Vampire Hunter D are obviously bad)
I hope that other will input into this thread.
I have also looked at some older topics related to Anime and manga. and I feel there is some confusion on the matter.
1. Anime and manga are Mediums(anime being the animatited Manga) and as such are not evil in their original forms.
2. The creator is who makes them evil or 'bad' the fact that it is Japanese/Chinese doesn't matter.
3. Fanservice(basically female characters with low-cut tops and large breasts, short skirts and visible underwear) The first thing that comes from most people when someone talks about Anime/Manga is
'' 'Insert Curse Here', you watch cartoon porn??" this is wrong, it is a steriotype that has been made by a few misinformed people, and some messed up internet people. Although alot of anime and Manga does contain some 'large' female characters, this is the Japanese culture. Many Mangas/Animes do not contain 'cartoon porn' or anything of the sort.
4. that is all for now, take me up on any of these points, I am happy to discuss them.

Unsuitable/Questionable Animes/Mangas
Love Hina/Love Hina Again(Alot of Fanservice)
Magic Users Club(Look at name)
Neon Genesis Evangelion(A bit of Fanservice and very anti-biblical, meaning taking the Bible into their own context)
Chobits(Alot of wrong concepts)
Gravitation(Focuses on Shonen-Ai which literally translated means Boy-Love)
Fruits Basket(Focuses on the Japanese Zodiak, the twelve main characters turn into their Zodiak animal when hugged by the opposite sex)

Full Metal Alcehmist
Ok, this is a very good series. Although some may not agree for many readsos, I will go through some of the arguments after I have written the brief(or not so)...
(Spoilers to the first episode in this paragraph)
Fullmetal Alchemist is about the Elric Brother, Ed and Al. In the start of the series we are introduced to them with an Alchemic Array(Search Goolgle images for pics) This is the first scene. We later find out that they were devastated by the death of their mother, so they attempt to bring her back using Alchemy(This is the greatest Alchemic taboo) and as a result Ed looses his Left Leg. when he comes round he realises that his brother has gone completely, so he attatches his soul to a suit of armour, and loses his Right arm in the process.
Basically, Ed is fitted with Auto-mail(Metal Limbs) and then him and Al go on a search to get back all they have lost. The theme of this series is the Unconditional love these brothers share, they stick by each other, through good and bad, even when they dont particurly want to. The story and the characters progress through the years of the story, Ed becomes a State Alchemist, and does all he can to find the legendary Philosophers Stone, a stone which allows the basic law of Alchemy to be discarded. This law states that to gain something, something of equal value must first be given.
Along the way they meet alot of people, some good, some bad, and we get to see that Ed changes and matures in quite a short length of time.

No, it is not Magic.
Id say, it is up to you, have you watched LOTR? there are Wizards on the 'good' side, and this series uses Alchemy, something not real, it was created for the series, well, it exists, but not in the way the series portrays it. Again, it is not set in the real world, It is set in another dimension/world, although this world does exist in the series(But alchemy is not useable there)
They try to bring back their mother, thats wrong right?
yes, that is wrong, but they learn from their mistakes, perhaps this isnt the best way for them to have gone about it, but the were 10(ed) and 9(al) they had very little concept of good and bad, this isnt an excuse, but They learnt by loosing an arm, a leg and a body. In this sense, it is also wrong to kill, but how many people have watched a War movie, or a film that involes violence? Or even the Matrix(Neo comes back to life) the context of this is what makes it seem worse, but it really isnt 'worse' than any other film in the catagory mentioned above.

don't laugh at me, redface but the only anime that I've sat through was Trigun. And i think that it's a good anime.
I have been interested in watching more, but there's so many of them that I don't know which ones i would like.

I have been interested in watching more, but there's so many of them that I don't know which ones i would like. I had the first Manga of Trigun, but the art style wasnt to my taste and I didnt get any further...

i say it shows that humans cant create a soul. sure you can kill 1 bird to make another live (not really) but you still arnt creating a life. people are not God

Seority FMA i say it shows that humans cant create a soul. sure you can kill 1 bird to make another live (not really) but you still arnt creating a life. people are not God good point Yeah, My revieww was stating that some people may find this difficult as to what it does contain, there is a fair amount of violence and some questionable stuff, but in mt opinion, it is still good.

His and Her circumstances is a fantastic and realistic portayal of issues like young love, the nature of love, broken familys, pride, friendship, rivarys. I use it in chirch all the time. It has some really good messges.

I fully support FMA and as it was said before it clearly shows that the attempt to act like God is a fallacy in itself.
As for Fruits Basket- although it deals with the chinese zodiac i think there are really good life lessons learned in the show. Also it promotes that the Zodiac was to used as a passage of time and not for fortune telling. I like the legends of the actual zodiac because i believe it shows depth into another culture while i still have my faith. I don't think there are actually people who worship these animals or anything so i think it's a good anime.
SPOILER WARNING
Also if you read the manga.. you find out that it is Akito who tries to play God and Manipulate the lives of others while Tohru helps to free them and show that such a way of thinking is wrong.

I don't watch allot of anime (since my mom has, pretty much, outlawed it) but what I've seen of Evangelion wasn't so bad. In fact, I quite enjoyed it, and didn't see what you were talking about the Bible being in it.
On another front, would you mind doing a reveiw on the classic sereis, Robotech? It's my FAVORITE, but I'd like to see what you guys think. Oh, and all the Gundam sereis too!!!!!
