I believe I've finally gotten to a point in my life where I've wrested control from my disillusion'd counter-ego. In so doing, I was able to kick my WoW habit (ie. still have subscription time... but don't ever play the damn thing).
I suppose it was a personal choice... though I do believe the developers have lost their way a bit, and things have become... well... virtually unplayable in certain aspects of the game. However, I also feel that in light of this new situation, it is entirely possible that with all my free time, I may end up running out of movies and anime to pirate... and will thus be sucked back into that terrible life-eating world.
In regards to this matter, I'm looking for an out, and I may/may not have found one that could be suitable for that purpose.
Enter Darkfall;
http://www.darkfallonline.com/After what happened to Warhammer/Age of Conan, I was certain that nothing would come along that could convince me they had blizzard's downfall in their agenda... but these people have convinced me. The features they offer are astounding to say the least, and the fact that character progression is based more on skill usage than gear grinds gives me hope that it won't fall into the same dead format that WoW currently is in.
Perhaps my hopes are too high... or perhaps, I should use my last days of my WoW subscription to post links to darkfall in various WoW forums, in hopes that it gets the attention that it deserves, though I suppose that would be in bad taste
razz Either way, I hope it ends up working as it's described... and that it gets enough media attention to draw an acceptable crowd.
Also, I'm moving out of my parents' house. Seriously, they get the ******** on my nerves...
