Maion types in apple green Sofiel types in brown Sengdroma (Moon) types in blue Just act tough! Maion walked with Moon, he was aware that something wasn’t entirely right, was she that offended by his suggestion? He sighed softly, he knew this was for the best, he wouldn’t be able to help her the way she needed, always to afraid to hurt her, yet at the same time it felt like he needed to be slightly ‘distant’ to ensure she worked to the best of her ability. He was killing him from the inside, he did not like this ‘mask’ that he was forcing himself to put on.
His memories of Sofiel were distant now, it had been such a long time ago that he actually spent time with him, he was a strong fighter and an unusual character. At the time he had been feeling slightly cocky about his breed and felt that he was able to beat anyone who dared to challenge him, although Sofiel never challenged him the mere appearance of him drove his urge to prove himself wild. His defeat was a devastation to him, how could he have lost to a fluttercorn of all creatures?
It was after the defeat that he searched for mentors himself before return to challenge him once more, however on his return Sofiel refused to fight him, claiming that he could accurately assess his opponent without the need to attack and had declared that it would an equal match. It from that point that Maion had decided to become friends with him and leave to protect others rather than using defeat as an excuse to constantly prove himself.
He glanced towards Moon for a moment, her features were beautiful even in the dim light of the morning, and they had been travelling for about six miles from the lake that they had spent the night together, though he had only slept for about two hours in total, his mind flicking through the task he had set before him. He would have to make it appear to her that he was leaving her with disinterest; he had contemplated mentioning the fact that she had no wings although in reality that did not bother him, yet he was reluctant to actually cause her pain in that way, determining that ignorance was the best way to seem he had lost interest.
He lowered his head slightly, keeping his eyes towards the clearing he was headed towards. This road was near the herd that Sofiel belonged to; it was also the place that Maion had found him on several occasions.
"We are nearly there," he paused for a moment, considering if it would be appropriate considering what he was planning to do to help her. Yet even as the reasons for and against whirled around in his mind he couldn’t be cruel to her. He loved her. That was what he wanted to remember most of all, speaking more softly than before he continued "Moon."
------------------------------------
Sofiel was wandering through the wilderness, the colourful morning sun made him feel grateful for the day ahead of him, he knew from the way the creatures moved that someone or something slightly out of place was drawing closer. He sniffed at the air, the aroma of the forest hit his nose first, followed swiftly by the distinctive smell of fresh lingering water, perhaps the kind usually found near lakes. There was also the faint sound of two pairs of footsteps, one slightly stronger than other. He could speculate over them but that felt slightly inappropriate now considering there was also a scent travelling on the breeze that he recognised. Maion.
His eyes darted around the trees for a moment before he started galloping towards the clearing they had met on several occasions before. That was surely were he was headed now. The only question that lingered in the back of his mind now was, why did he visit now?

"Going to meet an old friend," he had said....He hadn't said much at all since their conversation actually. He was distant...aloof...
They had a conversation about Sengdroma's goal in life...Maion hadn't reacted the way she thought he would, but since then, he seemed to have a lot on his mind. She had found herself wondering if she had said something in their conversation that had upset him.
Maion told her he had a friend...one that would teach her the abilities she needed to reach her goal, she sighed deeply as she thought....At least part of her goal. Her heart had broken a bit that night, Maion seemed to brush off her mentioning that she wanted a family. Truth be told, she wanted a family with Maion, but now....now she dare not tell him that. A sudden realization hit her, Sengdroma stopped in her tracks. -That- was it.
She watched as Maion continued on down the path in his own thoughts, "Stupid girl...he doesn't want a family..." That's why he was so distant..she had upset him. Now that the truth was out that she wanted children...Maion didn't want her. She hung her head as she began to slowly walk after him. "How silly were you...to think he would want a grounded for his mate...." her eyes began to tear over a bit as her heart broke even more. She had been too naive...to hopeful...and now, now she would pay the price. Why hadn't she just kept her mouth shut, things were much easier in life when everyone thought she couldn't speak. She never made a fool of herself....she had never opened up...she never would have had this happen if she had just stayed quiet! Her head hung a little lower.
As Maion spoke, her head lifted, she blinked rapidly trying to clear the moisture from her eyes. She didn't answer him, she just nodded so that he would know she heard him. She didn't know what lie ahead, and had she known that Maion intended on leaving her there...she never would have agreed to this.

Maion slowed in his stride as silence emanated from Moon once more, it was familiar yet its reappearance cut him deeper than wound could, she already seemed unsure about him, how could she have been swayed so easily? He had expected her of all people to know how he felt, to have to force her to believe that she was unwanted, it was for her own good after all. Perhaps he should have expressed his feeling in words. Yet this was just painful, it seemed unnecessary yet at the same time he knew it was the only way for her to learn to have the goal she longed for.
Her goal, that was how this started, since then he had been plotting a way to give her everything she wanted, merely starting with her achieving the power to protect those she loved so dearly. The second part of her goal still made his heart flutter and he could only hope that she had meant that she wanted a family with him and not some other stallion. Another stallion? Could there possibly be someone else who owned her heart? Was that the cause for her sudden silence now? A thousand questions started to form in his mind --> Did he have the power of flight? Did his wings show the real reason why she did not see him in her goal? After all she had made a point to start her explanation by using the words ‘I'm just a grounded mare’. He flinched on the inside, forcing himself to push these questions out of his mind, they stung.
Refocused on his current mission he turned his head and started to walk once more, this was going to hurt them both, he knew this now.
Each step brought them closer to the clearing, the wind seemed more chilling now as he shifted the wings on his back gently to shield him, sneakily his eyes looked towards Moon once more, if only he could shield her also. The feeling of utter helplessness lay heavy on his heart now as he forced himself once more to refocus on the reason for bring her here, for her, to make her happy. That was all that truly matter now, for she had become his everything.
As the tree line broke he saw the familiar brown wings of his friend. Sofiel. Under his breath, so low that he was sure no one around him could hear his words, "Please forgive me, my fair Moon."
------------------------------------
Waiting in the lingering shadows he flexed his muscles slowly to ensure that he was prepared for anything that came his way. He allowed his mind to wander to the last occasion when he had met the strange Angeni who walked upon the Earth. There was a strange relentless thirst about him, a need to find a true purpose in life, perhaps this encounter would reveal more about his soul, the true nature that drove him ever onwards.
His eyes began to focus as he saw the familiar wings, and the speckled pelt around his strong frame, he reminded him of a painting, elegant and gracefully yet he predicted that all of the Angeni processed that kind of charm. Next to the elegant creature was another, an interesting individual –grounded, and colourful, another work of art, perhaps this was the reason for such an unannounced encounter.
He stepped forward and nodded in the recognition of their arrival. No emotion was peeled over his face as he watched, taking in every detail, their movements, their expressions, everything. He longed to understand.

She hadn't heard him, perhaps if she had, it would have healed just a sliver of her breaking heart. She was silent, but if anyone looked close enough, her eyes would tell all. The moisture was quickly clearing away as she struggled to hold back tears, but the rim of her eye lids surely showed the tinge of the bright pink brought on by the emotions she was feeling.
At least...at least this would give her more time. As they spent time together during her training, she could prove to Maion that she was just as good as the others...she could be just as powerful...just as agile....just as...
She drew in another sharp breath, She could prove just was just as lovely as any other mare even if she had no wings. All she needed was more time with him. She would prove her worth.
Her head lifted as they neared the clearing, her nostrils took in the scents that were familiar, but yet so strange. They weren't that far from her lake, yet, she had never traveled here. Suddenly, the wind brought the scent of a stranger. She stopped on the path, her head alert and her eyes searching for the source.
Watching as Maion made his way to the clearing, she saw the brown figure step foward. A fluttercorn. She had seen a Flutter...and a Unicorn, but she had never seen a hybrid of the two. Any other day, she would be amazed and intrigued. Today, today she had no intrest in such things.
She waited on the path, not wanting to intrude upon the greetings. It was always more polite to be recognized and invited into the group of old friends instead of just barging in. Her muscles rippled under her coat, unhappy she was. She was fighting an urge, fighting the urge to tell Maion just what she thought of him and his shallow actions.

Sofiel watched the pair curiously as the stepped closer to the clearing, it seemed that there was a bond between them, yet it was strange to see that it was also beginning to break and distort at the seams, only his mind could wonder. He nodded his head in acceptance to their presence and then returned to examining each individual. Neither was what he would consider ’normal’.
Facing his old friend once more he spoke in a strong, deep voice, "And to what do I owe this honour?" He was a soquili of very few words, considering each word before he spoke, meaning laced behind them. He had always found that he spoke more to those he had met several times before, and more to those when he was ‘in character’ and pretending to be someone who spoke more fluently, yet such experiences were painful to him.
Once again Maion looked towards Moon, she was so beautiful, it was hard to even contemplate her needing to protect herself but he knew it was her dream, and he would not stand in her way though he could not stand beside her while she did it. He had originally hoped that he could stand as her protector, if needs be he would never leave her, take her everywhere, walk everywhere. That would not be such a bad thing, although he would miss his wings he knew that there would always be something within him that would miss her more. That would gladly be his sacrifice.
Yet as Sofiel stood before him his eyes showed a terror that no one would have been able to comprehend, deep within his mind was a growing concern for Moon, would she really be safe in his hand? Perhaps it would be best that he did it himself. Opening his mouth he started to speak, "I..." he continued in his head for a moment ‘have changed my mind’, yet he knew this was the better of the two options. He would find a way to help her, some way no matter how small. As long as she would have him around he would always offer her a helping hand. He wanted to be strong, for her. Gulping for a moment he allowed his eyes to stray back towards Moon, a sadness remained laced within them, before he turned back towards the fluttercorn and continued, "...need your help." He paused and then raised his head, stronger than before correcting himself, "we need your help." If only she knew what he was thinking?
Briefly forcing a smile upon his face he watched and waited for a reply, this was harder than he had expected.
Emotionless as always Sofiel continued to watch, he was now interested in the emotions that seemed obvious upon Maion’s face, something was wrong within his features, they seemed pained somehow yet there was no way he could understand the cause of it. What help could he possibly need that would require a ninja? One eyebrow slightly cocked he looked at the mare for a moment, could this be the reason? He had never been one to allow such emotions as love to settle, mainly because he rarely spent time in the company of women. Looking back towards Maion he cocked his head in a manner that said ‘how’ yet no words left his lips.
Sighing the giant paused looking to ground as he tried to collect his thoughts before he spoke once more. "Moon..." it was painful to say her name, painful to look at her, painful to think about her, how could he have let his emotions run so out of check for this long? Suppressing them as well as he could he raised his head, a sloppy grin peeled upon his face, as he glanced towards her for a moment and then back towards Sofiel to continue, "...needs a mentor."
It was at that moment he realised he had not introduced them. He bowed his head in apology and corrected his mistake, what a rookie he appeared now. "Sofiel," he said looking at the Stallion before him before turning his attention to Moon, accepting her features into his being once more, they were beautiful, more so than his failing memories remembered. "This is Moon, or rather Sengdroma." Then he nodded at Moon and turned towards Sofiel once more. "Moon this Sofiel, the formidable warrior I told you about." What else could be said? He felt a lump move into his throat. He suddenly felt heavy and awkward.
What would happen now?

She watched as the two stallions conversed in a short to the point manner. As Maion introduced her to Sofiel, she took a few steps forward and bowed her head. She had reverted back to her wordless actions, she would not say hello or greet the stranger. Rather, her eyes looked over him. He was small to be a warrior, but then, so was she.
Inside her head she was screaming at Maion, yelling at him that she could be what he wanted. She could work hard and become a lady fit for him. She shook her head slightly, her mane tossed about in the slight wind that blew through.
She continued to wait and watch the two, she wasn't sure what was going to happen. She wasn't sure what the training would consist of, but, at least Maion would be there to see her...see her improvement. At least he would be there to see how hard she was willing to work to become fit for him.
Her eyes looked back and forth between the two, waiting for instructions.

An all too familiar guilty twang played upon Maion’s heart strings as he watched Moon return to her more silent tendencies, perhaps acting how he had the night before was not the best thing he could have done for her. How stupid he was, it seemed that all he did around her was make mistake after mistake after mistake. When would this endless cycle of pain and suffering end for him, or was that the true meaning of being an Angeni, perhaps that was the reason for his Mothers attitude?
He forced his attention back to Sofiel and walked towards him in an effort to get out of ear shot of Moon, he moved himself close to the small agile creature before lowering his head towards his ears. He imaged that to anyone watching it would seem like the small and the tall, a ridiculous combination, it was hard to comprehend that he had once been defeated by him. He spoke in a quiet, nervous voice. "I need you to help me friend. She means the world to me but I can not teach her myself, nor do I want her to know my true feelings for her." He felt that would be enough persuasion and so raised her head once more and turned his body back towards the path they had just recently followed. He knew now would be the hardest part of this predicament, he would have to leave, leave and not glance at her, not provide her with a glimmer of hope. He felt dirty now, how dare he build her hopes up only the night before in a bout of passion before he ripped her heart out completely. He was a terrible creature, not worthy of the name Angeni.
He paused for a moment, his heart raced with his chest, he longed to kiss her again, to caress her in the same way he had before, no boundaries, no limitations. Shattered pieces of the life he had once hoped to have lay before him as he took his first fateful step. After the first it became easier although the grass itself seemed to bite like shards of glass beneath his feet, over sensitive as his senses worked overtime to understand his own actions. He passed the form of Moon, not looking, not even through his peripheral view in fear that he would be unable to leave, not speaking knowing that his words would cause him would give him away. Silence fell on his world as he walked, a darkness fell. A darkness he feared would never be shifted.
Sofiel observed the situation that unfolded before his eyes, unmoving as the giant walked towards him, a mentor was what he wished for though he was uncertain about the true reason behind their visit. After all Maion was a formidable warrior also, even in his earlier untrained and focused form he had recognised the instincts that could never be taught. He allowed himself to look at the creature was obviously being asked to train, female warriors had never been an alien thought to him but he was unsure in what way he could actually help her.
Once Maion was beside him he noted the sweet scent of the female upon his pelt, lingering upon his feather; they had obviously been together for a while now for such an impression to be left. It was strange to imagine this giant settling for one out of his own breed considering the rants he had revealed in their past encounters. Perhaps there was something special to this female that the naked eye could not detect. He listened intently, his ear twitching under the touch of warm air that was expelled from Maion’s mouth with each word. He seemed sincere, and it did explain his actions some although it did surprise him how they had not decided to share in the experiences together. It was clear from Maion’s words that he intended to leave Sengdroma alone with him, perhaps this was to prevent him from getting in the way, or perhaps there was some other notion bubbling through the strange Angeni’s mind? He would not pretend to understand the situation, but he would agree to help.
Nodding his head quickly he then turned to watch Sengdroma. Curious about her part in this melodramatic scene. How would she react to Maion leaving? He was sure he would soon find out, and just as quickly as the notion entered his mind he noted the deliberate movements of the Angeni as he left the clearing and the pair alone within it.
He allowed Sengdroma as much time as she needed to compose herself before he moved towards her, circling her while his eyes hurriedly examined her. She seemed well built, strong muscles in most places, although he felt that her waistline left something to be desired. Her legs were lean, strong looking and with training they would develop fully. Yet as he moved to her neck and eventually her face he became concerned for the emotions that leaked out of her eyes. She was not ready mentally for what he could possibly do for her. Perhaps that would be the best place to start.
Turning his head quickly he check to make sure that Maion was completely out of sight before he refocused upon the mare, his words were deliberate as he spoke, he had no desire to understand what she was fully feeling, it was clear she was pained by Maion’s actions, just as his own eyes had told a similar story. "Why do you want this?" He waited for a reply before taking several steps back to examine her as a whole, she was mainly a fine specimen, although a little plain.
Maion was back at the lake in no time, his eyes emptily looking at the glistening surface of the water. It seemed uninteresting here without Moon, it was hard to believe they had been connected her mere hours before. Had he truly lost all chance he had with her, built her up to high that her fall would be un-healable? Who was he to play God to those around him?
Before he knew it thick tears tumbled down his cheeks before running off his face and hitting the ground with a soft ‘splash’. He was certain he had lost her.

As Maion moved toward the flutter, Sengdroma wasn't sure if she was supposed to follow. She decided to stay put since no one had addressed her. She was on the verge of tears, but she tried her best not to let it show to either of the stallions. She seemed more sensitive than normal, or maybe...maybe it was just because she was coming to the realization that she loved Maion that this hurt so bad.
After a moment, her eyes followed Maion as he turned. Step by step he walked closer...next to...then past her. Her eyes followed him only until he reached her. She would not turn and look at him as he walked away. That was it, she was right. Maion had brough her here to leave her. She wanted to yell at him, ask him where he was going...but she didn't. Her eyes glistened with tears that she fought back, a struggle that she would soon loose if she didn't focus.
She listened to Maion's footsteps as he continued to walk until she could no longer hear them. She hung her head for a moment before looking to Sof. It was only she and a strange stallion now. What had she gotten herself into? Why hadn't she just kept her mouth shut?
Blinking her eyes rapidly to clear the moisture, she moved to a more prideful stance. Her eyes looking straight as the stallion circled around her, sizing her up. She didn't move until he spoke. She paused. Her mouth, once again, didn't want to move to answer. She had never spoken to a stranger. In fact, her words had only fallen on Maion and Elijah's ears except for the few words she had spoken to her parents in recent months.
She struggled, trying to get her mouth and brain to work together. Finally, only a single word escaped her lips in a soft, almost inaudible voice.
"Family"

Sofiel nodded at the acknowledgment of her words, it seemed that just like himself she choice not to speak, he would continue for the rest of their time in a silent manner unless words were needed, there was no reason to make her any more uncomfortable about her current situation, it could not of been easy being left with a complete stranger. Since he could not cope with the emotions of others he decided it was best to start as soon as possible, it would allow her thinking time if she needed.
Moving his head towards the centre of the clearing he asked her wordlessly to ‘follow’, before he started in the direction himself. Sitting down he allowed the warmth from the sun to caress his mahogany coloured pelt, it was so warming, relaxing almost. He hoped it would do something to her mood. Then he lowered his head to the ground so that his neck and the underside of his chin caressed the carless grass below. Stage one of his training would be patience, if she indeed intended to protect a ‘family’ as she had indicated she would defiantly need this quality.
Unmoving he stayed still, hoping that she would copy him without moving. They would stay here in the silence of the afternoon listening, waiting; eventually she would come to recognise every sound the forest had to offer. Every movement would become clear so that she would know not to react simply to the scurrying of squirrels or the dancing of deer. Her targets would be far larger and deadly.
As he continued to listen he closed his eyes. He had always believed that being able to do the same ’blind’ would give the advantage, and allow him to use his skills in both the light and the dark. Slowly he drifted into a meditative state.

She saw his 'request' and complied. Her footsteps fell softly on the grass beneath her hooves, though her heart felt heavy as she moved. The sun felt warm, almost comforting, wrapping her body in rays of light that heated her coat. She slowly moved her body to the ground. She had to shift several times to get comfortable. Her belly seemed to prodtrude just a bit more than normal, she was unable to just lie as she normally did. She thought to herself that she had shared perhaps a few too many meals with Maion.
She drew in a sharp breath as she thought of him. She shook her head gently trying to clear him from her mind. She looked over to Sof, watching as he slowly seemed to fade into another state of being. He looked so relaxed and care free. She wasn't sure what this supposed to help her with, but she followed his lead.
Her ears swiveled at the different sounds around her. She wasn't yet ready to close her eyes. At every sound, her eyes looked around trying to find the source. It was mainly squirrels and other forest creatures, but she wasn't comfortable enough to lie there without looking and being alert.

((Well I am afraid its going to much of the same XD so I hope you do not mind that I have accelerate the day =D))
As the day shifted from the calming morning sun to the sweltering mid-day heat Sofiel continued to stay in exactly the same position. He had not moved a muscle bar the odd flickering of his ears as he took in the sounds of the peaceful forest. He had heard deer playing happily near by, running and prancing through the trees as the day came to its peek. They had been followed swiftly by the gentle chirping of bird songs, courting perhaps. He felt that she needed to hear such things also, it may hurt but that was why they were here, to overcome it. There was a need to forget all emotions in order to act more effectively and efficiently in the heat of battle. No wasted energy or movements. No unnecessary thoughts and consideration. Just impulse.
The day dulled to a darker evening light as the sun started to bury itself below the lands thick surface to awake the following day. Still he had not moved, aware completely of the mare beside her, she seemed uncomfortable still as if she was not in her ‘usual’ position. He contemplated the signs he had seen so far in an effort to evaluate her condition but came up blank; he simply did not have enough information, though his gut instinct told him that the answer would soon arrive.
After sitting for a few moments more he began to rise, they had not ate anything all day and he imaged that the heat of the sun had made her thirsty as well as hungry. Once full elevated from his previous position he looked around, this clearing had always been a tasty source of nutrition in the past. Slowly his eyes connected with an apple tree. Moving towards it he looked up and noted the ripeness of several juicy apples, instinctively he went to charge the tree before remembering his company and stopping, he turned his head towards her and then back to the tree indicating that she should now collect their meal. He knew it was likely she was exhausted although they had not done anything taxing to the body, lack of food and water usually had that effect.

Her ears swiveled at the different sounds. Now and again she cast a glance to Sof. It amazed her that he had not moved for the entire time they had been lieing there. She had shifted several times already, her body just not comfortable in the lush grass. She heard the movements in the forest, and the songs of the birds. As she watched, two birds indeed did the dance of lovers. Again she thought of Maion. She thought of the dance they had shared by the lake. She felt like such a fool.
As morning turned to midday, her body began to calm and relax, she closed her eyes for short periods, listening to the forest talk. Her muscles rippled beneather coat as insects landed and took to flight again.
She was parched. The sun's rays were no longer just warming, they seemed to scorch her. She didn't remember this time of year being so hot. She was glad to see Sof finally stir, rising to his feet. Moving her own feet beneather her, she lifted her body from the ground, following her mentor. She followed slowly behind as they made their way to the apple tree. She waited, it was only proper that her mentor ate before she did. She would collect her meal after he had chosen his own.

He watched in anticipate of what she would do, her body did indeed seem more sluggish than before, she was evidently not used to how exhausting simply thinking and being still was. It made him smile, though he did not make the expression strong upon his face in fear of offending her. She did not move, though he imagined that his silent instructions were not as clear as they could have been, she was simply not familiar with him yet, which made him sure she would have understood exactly what Maion had meant whether he used words or actions.
His eyes quickly looked to each of the apples on the ground, there seemed to be no perfect ones there, yet as his eyes looked up at the branches once more the ripeness of them called to him. Bracing himself he charged towards the tree once more, his shoulder prepared for impact with the rough bark of the tree, shaking it with a powerful blow. One strike was enough to send several apples plummeting to the floor, anticipating were one would fall he moved himself fluidly into position and held his head up.
It fell quickly towards him but he did not move, simply opened his lips in preparation to catch it. Seconds flew by as it advanced until finally it made contact with his lips and was pieced by the time it reached his teeth. Lowering his head to a more comfortable position he started to each it, taking on four bites. It was delicious, and some of the excess juices spilled over his lip and ran down his chin. He lowered his head and took a mouth of grass being sure to wipe his chin discreetly as he went. Grass and apples was his favourite combination after a long day of meditation. His body felt relaxed and rejuvenated bar the burning sensation that still barked at the back of his throat. He knew they needed to find a water source, yet he found himself suddenly concerned about Maion’s location, it would not be wise for the two to meet again after the mare had finally shown signs of relaxing, so he turned and started walking in the opposite direction to that of Maion’s exit to meet the river that ran its fresh shimmering water from the mountain into the lake.
As he walked his footsteps made very little noise, left no visible sigh of distress upon the grass beneath his feet, his breath was steady and his appetite filled. Bar the addition of his new ’student’ and a visit from a gentle giant today had been like any other day.

Continuing to wait, she was not expecting for the stallion to charge the tree. With a shocked look she watched as his shoulder met the trunk of the tree, and with amazement she watched as he caught a perfectly ripe apple that had been knocked loose. She was still for only a moment, as her stomach began to grumble at the thought of the sweet apples. As Sof began to chew, she took a few steps forward and found another ripe apple that had fallen. She looked to Sof, nodding in thanks.
Delicately she took the apple into her mouth, taking bites and chew slowly. Savouring the flavor of the fruit. Once she finished, she licked her lips, clearing them of extra juices that had spilled from her mouth. Though the juices had calmed her thirst, it had not extinguished it.
As Sof began to walk, she followed. Her footsteps were quiet like his, it was just her natural walk. But unlike his, she left a path with her hooves. She hoped they were heading towards water. She knew her lake was not far....but in the opposite direction. Silently she followed.

Sofiel noted the manner in which she ate, she licked her lips- which was usually a sigh of being comfortable, or so he thought. This made him relieved that she had at least gained something from their still day below the dancing sun.
Still walking through the forest he noted that most of the creatures seemed settled, the main source of the rustling came from the birds gathering extra twigs for their nests and small creatures such as the fox as they made their way back to their homes. Twilight was his favourite time of day; it was the bridge between day and night and seemed to empower his senses in no way any training ever could. As his ears flickered at the introduction of each sound he stopped when he heard the one he was looking for. From here he could only hear the faint trickling of water as it ran along its river bed path, he turned towards Sengdroma, once again noticing the sluggishness within each of her movements although they were still strangely graceful. Losing his train of thought for a moment he wondered if this had been the original source of Maion’s affection. It was hard to comprehend a Angeni falling for one of the ‘lesser’ breeds, his own included. Yet he could tell from the pain look that had been peeled upon his face that this was indeed the case. Surprising.
A loud flapping sound suddenly appeared through the forest canopy and although Sofiel did not look at the source he followed it with his ears, a larger bird than they had heard earlier, looking for prey, an owl perhaps? Ignoring it almost immediately he remembered the reason he had stopped and failing to think of a reasonable silent gesture resorted to words once more, his words was slightly hoarse from the raging thirst. "Can you hear that?" He paused for a moment, checking for the faint sound of water once more before continuing, "I want you to find it." Everything they did from this point forth was a test; they had been practising using their sense of sound today so there was no better test than being able to single out a sound and then discovering its location. He hoped her thirst would be motivation enough.
