"I'm only taking you out again because Galley says it's cruel of me to keep you inside, not to mention Brig won't leave the house because she's scared for her son, so you've got to be on your best behavior or so help me I'm giving you a bath."
Rit was holding Vox in her arms once more as the pair proceeded down the pathway towards no where in particular, their only destination being out of the house so everyone else could finally get some peace of mind without Brig's constant whining over her children and their safety.
"Do we have a deal then?"

Yet again Joshua had dragged his unsuspecting mother outside. But this time, he had a better excuse. Vinny had caught a cold. Josh had to admit; his brother was taking it in stride. Vinny was far too modest to want to accept help from anyone. Apparently that didn't keep Thali from worrying about him, they'd discovered.
So the toddler had decided. He'd drag her somewhere. He didn't know where yet.. Not the park. No; the snow was melting and the ground would be too muddy.
"Want to go shopping?" Thali asked, looking at her son. The boy reluctantly nodded. As long as he got her away from Vinny.

Rit continued to make her way down the street towards the grocery store, her mind having been made up to buy more band-aids thanks to the little bite marks that littered her arms and legs (not to mention hands and neck), all courtesy of the bundle of joy that groused in her arms.
He'd been 'teething' more than usual, according to Galley, which was the reason for the biting. Yeah, right.
"You, no grousing either. I'm not talking it off."

Thali led Joshua to the small store, before pausing to look at him. "You don't have to mope," She said, teasing. "When we get back, you can play wtih Almie."
That seemed to brighten the boy up, but only slightly. "Maybe Zem'l will be shopping!" He said, trying to see the silver lining.
Thali shrugged. She doubted it. "And maybe you'll make a new friend." She suggested.

Rit stood holding the door open as she saw another woman approaching, and it took her a moment or two to recognize it as the person she'd met before on that snowy day in the park. She grinned, trying to seem friendly.
"Oh, Thali. Long time no see."
The bundle in her arms shifted slightly.

Thali was fairly surprised to see Rit with a child. "Is he yours?" She asked, curious. "He's adorable! What's your name little one?" She looked at Vox curiously.
Turning to Josh, she said, "See, I told you. Introduce yourself." The toddler behind her looked a bit shy at first, then he moved in front of her.
"Hi!" He said, his emerald eyes running over Vox. "I'm Josh."

Vox looked over at the woman and the boy she was with using a sort of piqued curiosity, only his head moving as the rest of his body seemed to stay stick still. He blinked once or twice as he listened to the pair before talking himself.
"My name is Vox. I'm not allowed down."
"Darn right you aren't. Yes, this little happysack is mine, he hatched from a strange cabbage my brother left behind."

Joshua frowned. "Not allowed down?" He asked. "Why?" He thought. Maybe Vox got lost in stores. Or maybe he knocked things down. Or maybe.. He wondered. "Know any games?"
Thali smiled at Vox, "It's nice to meet you," She said cheerfully. She nodded at Rit. "My friend was left a cabbage. I think it was more of a pratical joke."

"Rit just says I'm not allowed down. I don't get along well enough with others yet for her to trust me."
Vox was blunt and straightforward as he talked, and Rit frowned before she gave him a little squeeze. The boy didn't protest, but instead went on talking to Joshua from where he stayed in Rit's embrace.
"I only know one game. Hide and Seek."
"Oh, so Joshua came from that cabbage then? I remember you mentioning that he came from one the first time we met."

Thali shook her head. "I think the girl's name is Nataya." She said. "Have you met Stasia? Josh here's pretty close to her son, Zemel."
Joshua frowned. Vox's Mommy didn't trust him? That must not be very fun. He decided not to comment on this, and instead smiled."I like hide and seek!" He said happily.
Thali looked at him and shook her head. "Not in the store," She reminded him.
Josh frowned, and closed his eyes in thought. "Maybe 'I Spy'?" He asked. "You pick something and tell me the color. Then I guess and you say if I'm hot or cold."

Vox looked down at Joshua for the first time, allowing the other child to see the whole of his eyes. He remembered Lucien had said that his eyes were pretty, so he wondered what this person would think. He blinked a bit before he nodded too, indicating they could play.
It seemed easy enough.
"I spy something blue."
Rit nodded her head
"Ah, I see. Vox just recently hatched, so I'm still at a loss as to what to do."

Joshua looked up at Vox. "Your eyes are really cool!" He said smiling. He'd never seen anyone with eyes like those. He was happy that he'd met someone who would play.
He looked around. "The sky?" He asked.

"Cold."
Vox caught on quickly to how this was played, having seen that old hag's children play it once or twice at the house while Rit was working. Naturally Vox wasn't allowed to join in for various reasons, but he recalled it well enough.

Josh looked around again. "The umbrella?" He asked, pointing to an older woman with a bright blue umbrella. "The store?" There were a lot of blue objects. This was hard! Vox seemed good at this game.

"Cold, and cold. It's not really an object per say, but it is something blue."
Vox's eyes never left Joshua, even as he spoke, and he barely blinked as he continued to stare. He clearly saw the blue on the boy, something so small the other probably wouldn't notice, but it was making him excited to see it.
