While Kai had gone off to get himself a drink, Mel was calmly watching a spider creeping around. It was rather intriguing in how it moved, so unlike the gait felines used. Then again...it had eight legs and a funny-shaped body. She reached a tan paw out and bat at the spider, causing it to skitter away and hiss at her.

She squeaked and backed up a bit...It skittered off in the other direction. The cub sighed in relief. What if it had decided to bite her?!

That was when Kaimel came galloping back, his eyes shining and his tail waving behind him with eager glee. He awkwardly side-stepped the spider and nudged his sister's side.

"I know what I want to be when I'm big!"

Mel was a little startled by her brother's enthusiastic return, but she smiled at him. She returned his nudge with a nuzzle and a purr. "That's awesome! What?" What could have caught her brother's attention so thoroughly that he knew this early on what he would do?

"I'm going to be a healer. I'll make sure everyone is always smiling, and healthy," Kaimel said, smiling and nuzzling his sister back. "I talked to Miss Moto."

A healer! Like Mom! Mel laughed happily. "That's wonderful, Kai! I know you'll make everyone happy! One way or another." She sat down, her tail swishing back and forth in the dirt. "What's the Mwezi like, Kai? I haven't really met her yet..."

"She's really nice. She told me that there are even nice demons out there!" Kaimel said wondrously, his eyes wide with mischief. "And that there are good demons in the pride! She told me she'll talk to them... One of them might even tell me they're a demon!"

Mel blinked, and blinked again. "Really? Wow...that's kinda cool!" She nodded. "I hope one tells you too! It's kinda nice to know not all demons are evil." She giggled. "Maybe I'll even learn who they are!"

"I'd tell you if I was allowed! But you need to find out on your own," Kaimel said, his tail flicking as he went to lick his sister's cheek happily.

Mel giggled again and playfully bat at her brother. "I know! I'll be patient and find out for myself one day." She purred. "Maybe, by then, we'll be a BIG pride! And the demons will have a little pride cause we made sure they can't get bigger!"

"And we'll have our own good demons!" Kaimel said, grinning and batting at his sister in return. "And I'll make sure everyone is always smiling, and no one gets sick!"

Mel grinned back and nodded. "Yeah! And...ya know...I just thought of somethin'." She blinked again. "When we're bigger, there's gonna be lots of mates like Mom and Dad...and there'll be lots of cubs. So..." She scrunched her face in thought. "Who's gonna take care of the cubs?"

"Dunno... Maybe... You should take care of them when we're bigger! You already take care of me and everyone else!" Kaimel said, her tail waving as he nudged his sister happily.

Mel nodded. "Yeah...I could do that! And then the parents wouldn't have to worry about their cubs while they're off hunting or protecting us or other things!" She grinned brightly again and nuzzled her brother. "They can focus on the big things while I make sure the cubs are all happy and learn everything they need to! Just like we're learning!"

"And I can make sure all the cubs are healthy, and take care of their moms and dads!" Kaimel said, grinning and eagerly giving his sister a quick 'kiss' on the cheek. They could work together!

"Yup!" She 'kissed' him back then puffed up happily. "Let's go find Mom and Dad! I bet they'll be REALLY proud of us!" Mel was certain of it! After all, Mom was a healer! And she was certain Dad would be happy if they were!

"Alright! We'll tell them how great we'll be when we're older!" Kaimel said, wiggling happily and getting up to bound off to find their parents.
