She cared nothing much for the time of day, or in this case, night, since she herself, being a predator, was not much frightened by anything, not even her own mother, who was terrifying in her own right. Smirking to herself, Iolanthe pondered on whether she ought to go and scare off a mare or to flirt with a stallion (or at least one stupid enough to think she was nice and didn't eat meat... she snorted, those types were the most fun to play with). In any case, none of her other siblings were about to play with, and she puffed a small fireball out of boredom, trying to decide what was the best to do.

Tonight was the night of the new moon, meaning this particular night was the darkest of all the nights during the month. Of course, this meant that other Kalona and/or dragons were out and about on hunts, because during the new moon they were at their strongest. Chuckling to herself quietly she, like a feline, began to silently make her way through the shadows until she reached a clearing with a small pond that reflected the light of the stars. This place here would be perfect to interrupt any lovers or even a lone Soquili--fresh meat. And normally the best kind to stalk up on, scare off, or hunt down. She grinned at herself, knowing she was just that smart.

Well, of course she was smart! For some reason it irked her to think that many of the non-predator type Soquili seemed to think that those who were the hunter that hunted the prey weren't too intelligent. That, of course, she would prove wrong to each and every creature stupid enough to believe such dirt. Deciding such thoughts were beneath her dignity as a dragon, she stepped out, glad that her coat blended well with the night, except for her eyes and horns, of which she wished weren't too obvious (since most other predators would notice her right away). In the end, though, she waited with bated, eager breath, hoping an idiotic Soquili would step out towards this sort of setting, eager to be eaten; after all, she was pretty hungry.

Ah, the darkness. If LON could have his way with how the world worked; he would have had it completely enloped in the warmth of the night permanently. The moon the only source of light in the lands, so serene, so peaceful. It was through this landscape that he roamed for hours, invisible against his background asides from one certian aspect; his eyes. As many had quoted in the past his eyes were unique for many a reasons such as being a strange mixture of calm and chaotic at once; for its golden glow against the black of night.

"He who shines like gold against a sea of chaos..."

It was then he spotted her through the foliage of the nearby wood as she stood idolly near a pond, foolishly illuminated by the stars since the moon was no where to be seen on this eve. Given she didn't have much to worry about in this world; many would flee at the sight of her unique silver spikes, demonic wings and dragon-kin appearence. However he was also not like the rest and he too had nothing to fear in these lands, his own massive demonic wings folding against his sides as he silently emerged from the bushes.

It could have been his illuminated orbs, or the faint crackling of his tail which was made out of a dark electric energy which pulsated and crackled against the night air which gave away his position to the mare. Whatever it was, a wide smirk crossed his ebony maw showing a starlit glistening grin of sharp teeth. Tossing back his bangs, he bowed his head slightly as he stood out a little more in the open space; staring her down with an intent curiosity.

"Greetings..."

He was certainly a magnificent creature, though his presence had most certainly been announced to her due to that odd crackling sound, from where she had no idea came from. He seemed almost like a shadow-based cloud, nearly just floating out mysteriously from said shadows. She peered at him, eyes glistening from the reflection of the stars' light as well as from the dimly lit pool. She had prepared herself to find a meal. To scare it off, and hunt it down. She had not been expecting a stallion.

Nor an incredibly amazing creature as this one. No matter; if anything he was probably like her--a predator. She returned his smirk with a glistening one of her own. Of course, though playful, she was also dead serious. She had already marked this place as her hunting ground--he was not allowed here...but that wouldn't stop her from flirting, oh no. He himself was a different kind of meal... She tilted her own head in greeting, not sure how to take his bowing at her, but again, it mattered little.

She had to admit, though; his eyes were pretty intense. What was he after? "Salutations," she replied, somewhat mocking, eyes dancing with amusement. What a way to greet another predator, but oh well. Allowing another smirk to paint her face, she nodded to their surroundings. "Out on a hunt for food as well, my friend?" After all, she had had a feeling she wasn't yet the only one who was out on this "peaceful, romantic" night. Where were those little creatures that loved this kind of thing? She was hungry, and she didn't think her growling stomach could be quiet for so long; but, as all things were, she was a dragon, and therefore she could withhold her hunger for her dignity, if need be.

Perhaps be he any other stallion, giving space would have been the best course of action to keep oneself from harm. Yet this seemed to not bother the beast of a stallion as he continued towards the mare in a very calm, precise footing. No agression, nor ill intent shown as he simply loped around her in a wide circle....watching....studying. Dragon-kin were indeed a most fascinating species, and so many sub-species in the broad name that was Dragon. Yet a dragon-mare....indeed, one could smirk to imagine the hybrid which they somehow came from; yet LON was pleased. So very pleased to have run across this femme on such a night.

"Hunt....yes." Deep vocals spoke thoughtfully, before a ruefull grin etched across his ebony maw. "Yet food is not what I hunger and hunt for, I yearn for something much more satisfying. Clearly on an intellectual level, mind you." He quickly added, no need her thinking that he had come for something more...intimate. From study of other stallions, it was clear to him that most mares did not like such a forward approach to intimacies. Something about Romance being key, or other mindless babble along those lines.

"I take it then, these are your hunting grounds? I dare hope I did not scare off your meal...." Casting his sights around the clearing, he didn't sense anyone but the two of them...nor did he think he'd seen anyone in the beginning as well. "On nights of the new moon, i'd suggest finding a location with fireflies. Thats where i've seen most activiy, since weakness is often drawn to the light where power favors the dark." Once more, that ominous chuckle rose from seemingly no where due to his perfectly blended body with the shadows. "Unless that is....you are looking for power on this most beautiful eve...."

She nodded, suddenly looking thoughtful, wary. This male, he seemed far too mysterious for her liking. She preferred the kinds that submitted to her will, her seduction--for to her, these were merely games. She had no idea what he was aiming for, but perhaps the first, and best, approach would be to ask for his name. She nearly frowned at that thought; ask for his name? Well, it wasn't like she was giving hers away... yet. She couldn't yet tell what kind of creature he was, but she would make him reveal himself...

...And then she would resume her hunting. "An intellectual level? What, pray tell, would that be? Certainly someone like yourself wouldn't need it," she spoke with a strong sarcastic tone, eye nearly rolling, but managed to keep herself under control. "Yes, I named these my hunting grounds, but there appears no prey around here, regardless of whether you scared 'em off or not." She wanted to spit out a small fireball for a brighter light, to see if he truly was just an actual stallion, or an apparition of her mind.

She wanted to believe the latter, but in the end... well, again, it didn't matter. She smirked again, and blew a small flame in his direction. "Well, aside from that, might I ask your name?" Once this annoyingly mysterious stallion finally gave his name, she might consider giving hers in return... she had to smile at herself. At least he was here to amuse her, no doubt of that.

"Mmm, Fiesty." LON chuckled, tossing his long bangs from his vision as he was far too involved in studying the dragon-kin mare. She seemed so complex, always thinking as her expressions changed on a dime to indicate to him different trains of thought to his questions and general conversation. "I have to say I hoped you would talk with me for a little while...i've encountered a few...Kalona who'd much rather try and fight or simply walk away. Lets just say...im new around here, simply wanting to learn all I can about these lands."

Hunting grounds...LON assumed he didn't need to eat meat since he had no real craving or desire to kill and feast on blood and flesh. Yet he did hope to someday master the art like so many before him and at least experience the sensations of being a predator....although he supposed he'd been an emotional predator in a sense....but that was another story!

Feeling coy as she blew a flame near him, the stallion reacted on a dime and snapped his body to bite down on the remnants of the flame before it died off in the cool night air...a brilliant sensation of the heat on his lips and the strange gasses on his tongue. Of course while moving out for the flame his body was now quite visible (or at least his features and frame) in the night, large wings spreading out horizontally while his body stood tall like a clydesdale.

"Of course you may...My name is Lord of Nightmares, but I much preferr Lon, its much easier on the tongue." He winked coyly, all in good fun as he flicked his crackling tail. "Is there something I can have the pleasure of calling you?"

She had to fight not to show her initial shock at his features when he stepped directly towards her playful flame, snuffing it out with his own mouth. His figure, though, stood out quite plainly for that mere minute that her flame flickered with life, and she found she could not erase such an image from her mind. That in itself shocked her, for Iolanthe held no caring for--was he...? He was! He was most certainly being... and... she was... flustered. No! Iolanthe, dragon-kalona, Did. Not. Get. FLUSTERED. Ever! But still--this... Lon. He was definitely flirting. He found out her game so soon!?

Still, though, he was indeed, incredibly handsome. She had never met a more handsome stallion--and that, in itself with who she was, was saying something. She decided to continue their strange, somehow friendly, banter, since it really was quite... fun, odd as it was. "Lord of Nightmares, it's my greatest pleasure to meet you," she returned his coy wink with a sultry tone, smiling somewhat seductively. "And your pleasure is mine to give... for my name is Iolanthe, since you've asked so politely..." Who was she to turn down a subtle offer such as his? After all, she didn't mind playing with a handsome creature as he, and Lon even looked like he quite enjoyed bantering with her! It was rare for Iolanthe to find any stallion like this, her family aside.

She tilted her head at him, pondering. "New, are you? Well, not much to learn; after all, I myself rather enjoy playing with my prey, though others like me just go for an instant kill... but, if you prefer mere conversation, I'm all for that, too. I'm neither below, or above, having a conversation... especially with such a delectable creature as you," she smirked, eyes dancing eagerly. This was going to be incredibly interesting... and fun... "I hope you weren't too surprised by the heat of my flame, earlier..." she mentioned, remembering he had "eaten" it somehow. Lon seemed a rather regal figure... but Lord of Nightmares was certainly a name to be wary of, if it was given to any other Soquili... but no. Iolanthe was a regal figure herself, a dragon-kalona, powerful, majestic, strong... she smiled wider at Lon. "Shall we take a walk?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 07, 2009 9:53 pm

"Well then, now that its been established that we are both ones for pleasure..." He mused, closing the gap between them as there was really no need to fool around amongst the shadows now that she had the light to draw him out like he was but a mere moth. Hell, even that sultry tone...even playful could draw a stallion of any magnitude towards the dragoness. Perhaps her method of hunting was that of a succubus, and he was nothing more than her prey? Well, the thought wasn't so bad but he'd hope she'd indulge him a but more than that!

"Iolanthe....simply beautiful, but my eyes already told me that." Lon too had to admit that these games of mind and seduction were amusing and highly addictive, he found the words escaping from his lips before he could doubt think things like he usually did to avoid unfortunate circumstances. A brow raised surprisingly under his bangs, delectable hmm? "Well I am most relieved to hear such! Eager to please hmmm? Well, perhaps we can mix buisness and pleasure...I would not mind watching a master of the hunt in action....yet I am so very eager to hear more from you. Perhaps we can do both on this walk?"

The stallion bowed his head and spread a wing as if he was motioning her to walk along side him. Moving out in a slow, comfortable walk, he winked back to the mare as she caught up to his strides. "Iolanthe...I wouldn't play with fire if I was afraid of getting burned..." Alright, that one almost made him howl with laughter, but the ebony stallion managed to keep his composure.

"So...to start things off, spare no details....how and why do you enjoy playing with your prey? Is it the fleeting hope in their eyes...or mayhaps the thrill of playing god to their very lives?" He smirked, a bit of a sinister depth to the stallion behind all the regal intellectual. Layers....quite odd for a stallion of simply one depth of coloration.

Catching up to his side, she began to wonder if it was herself who was in control or if it was Lon who was in control, because this comfortable atmosphere was making her itch to... well, she wasn't sure. In fact, the only thing she was sure about, was that Lon was definitely playing along with her and her... ways. And... damn him! He just had to go and light the fire with such a strong intent... as... that! "Now you're just trying too hard to get my attentions," she snickered, though an appreciative smile played on her lips. "Business and pleasure are definitely something I'm interested in." She spoke almost suavely, voice still sultry of course.

He was so close; so very close. She found that she enjoyed that, something of a rarity for her, as well. Much as she enjoyed playing with stallions--they were still prey, and as such, she didn't like to be that close to them... unless they tried to chase after her, of course. But then... this Lord of Nightmares... he was... giving her unusual emotions. It was hard to keep a hold of her usual self, but at the same time, she was very much herself. This was very odd... "Master of the hunt, am I? Well, I still think you're trying far too hard to get my attentions, Lon, but I don't mind..." She stepped slightly closer, their bodies nearly touching, but not quite, since she quite enjoyed the cover of his wings over her as well.

Lon then spoke a sentence that nearly sent her reeling with laughter; good thing she was very good at controlling how she reacted. "Is that so...? I hope you enjoy getting burned a little more, since I don't exactly intend to be the only one to ignite the flames." She had to struggle harder that time to control her laughter; she had already caught the amusement within Lon's eyes at his own words as it was. Her train of thought came to her as she realized that, while he was prey to her, he was almost closer to that of a companion... something she did not keep. A companion. Was he getting under her scales so quickly? Perhaps...

"Why do I enjoy playing with my prey? How do I enjoy my prey? Plenty of reasons... but probably the best part is when they realize how helpless they become... when they find that they've cornered themselves within my trap, unable to find escape... the happiness turned to horror... it's such a delight... almost addicting, I'd say. It's fun to play nice, and then show just how nice I truly am, after all." She loved that smirk of his when he revealed it, she realized; it was a sudden, slightly disgusting but delightful feeling as she glance at him at that point; surprisingly, Lon was taller than her, and Iolanthe knew she was tall for a mare because of her heritage. "And you, Lon? What do you do with your prey?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 07, 2009 11:31 pm

Golden eyes lit with mischeif as they walked along their midnight stroll, caught in a lively ballad of seductive controll. Indeed Iolanthe had turned out to be a pleasant surprise as the mares he usually met fell head over heels for the 'dark knight' or his 'mysterious' played persona's...yet he wasn't sure what he was trying to pull with her. Certianly no character he'd fabricated before...although he would surely hope it was perhaps a new performance he was weaving....he began to dread that he was letting too much of his own personality hidden behind the masks come out and play. "As long as I have your attention, negative or not..." He gestured, running a leathery wingtip along her spine to distract the mare from his confused expression that had crossed his face breifly. Why? Well, because he could.

"I simply assume that Dragons are expert hunters, unless you plan to shock me by saying you're a vegetarian..." A curt chuckle rose from his deep vocals, casting a wry gaze down to the mare although the height difference wasn't so drastic...he maybe had a hand or two over her. All of a sudden the stallion sputtered a bit in a choked laugh, his sharp canines peaking out from his black lips like pearls in the night. "Oh...is that a challenge that I need to up my game is it? I suppose nothing like friendly competition to pass the night away.." If it was a more serious game she wanted, well, Lon was not one to pass up such a delicious opportunity to waltz with this mare.

"That is a fascinating way to think about it....I can see why you enjoy it so much." The stallion cast his gaze to the skies, simply imagining himself in such a situation. One thing he was blessed with was a vivid imagination, so good infact he could almost smell the fear of her prey as she described it to him. With a small snap of his jaws to 'feel' the first bite, he shook his head moments after before returning to the current reality. At her question he thought for a few moments, how to put it? It wasn't that he was a...predator, like she. His hunt was for knowledge, and he would use any means to get it...and of course self preservation. He'd already had to kill foal before it ran back to his parents to keep it from ruining his study of family interaction. He only wished he'd been there to see the greiving of a family when they discovered their dead foal but more pressing matters called.

"I suppose my thrill is more of getting what I want, the ability to own and posess and lock away information. It is thrilling when someone or something wishes to keep such knowledge away from me...the drive to posess that knowledge is like a drug to me...I simply would do anything in order to get it." His breathing became deep as he spoke, as if already getting excited just talking about his desires. Eyes focused, intent as he stared off, only to blink abruptly when he realised what he'd been doing before shrugging his shoulders. "It is funny how one can enjoy a basic task in such different mannors like killing."

"Pursuit of knowledge is a worthy hunt, I admit," she tried not to shiver delightedly when he ran his wingtip over her spine. It was such a wondrous, enjoyable feeling; she nearly asked him to do it again, only, she wasn't a frivolous mare of that sort. But it seemed she had found something very interesting as they spoke and walked together; Lon almost leading the way in some sense, and sometimes Iolanthe herself leading the way. But this little tidbit of information was definitely something she was keep; Lon was proving to be more than just a mere "companion" at this rate; she might even consider him close enough to be--yes--a friend... perhaps more, depending on how things continued. Such was this sort of fun.

A hidden, fang-like smirk appeared as she watched him; his hypnotizing golden eyes were practically the perfect weapon for mares... but not her. His hunt for knowledge... eh? So, that meant he was probably after her for more knowledge upon dragons... with which she was going to keep her trap shut. Dragon knowledge remained only with dragons, and they never revealed it until a lifemate was found; no ifs, ands, or buts. Iolanthe would die before she said a word... but hey, there was no harm in slipping tidbits here and there! But... she found a weakness... somewhat... And Iolanthe being Iolanthe, she would most certainly utilize it and stretch it till it was no more! Doing a victory dance within her mind, she had to agree that the pursuit of knowledge was a worthy one; she'd not deny that.

"Your assumption is correct... and if I were a vegetarian, I wouldn't be so happy to receive your company, delectable Lon," she purred. She wasn't, however, expecting his sudden laugh--she quite enjoyed that, to say the least--but did expect his taunt. She had challenged him, after all. "Up your game? Well, that only means I need to raise mine! Care to dance?" She didn't mean literally; since it was her special phrase of drawing in prey, but perhaps she would actually end up dancing with this guy; he certainly seemed the type! "Don't get too caught up in my musings, my friend, it'll make you quiver with joy unspeakable among the prey," she teased, seeing how he was trying to discover what she was describing earlier. "Perhaps you'd rather watch how lovely I can be when I start my hunt, Lon?"
PostPosted: Wed Jul 08, 2009 1:08 am

Friend...companion....it wasn't as if those very thoughts hadn't crossed his own mind...yet he'd never really had either of them. Sure, he'd had a minion, an occasioal confused mare swooning for his attention; but none to really call his equal. Well, they really didn't come as equal as a dragoness, and her mischevious and spitfire (no pun intended mind you!) personality matched dead on with his own. Smirk for smirk, chuckle for chuckle...it was really rather...confusing! No wonder all those bumbling idiotic stallions were always following mares like lost puppies. Mares and their mind games, no wonder the male population were dimwhits.

Probably for the best he had little idea what was in store for him in the depths of the mare's mind.

"Tsk, Iolanthe...you should know by now the saying 'An eye for an eye'...Untill I get a taste this..." His wing cheekily slid across his ebony flank, showcasing the muscles which were finely crafted under his pelt "..is off limits." Suddenly, he got a most brilliant idea at her probably playful jest. "Actually, a Dance sounds divine....come, we can hunt anytime but it is truely a rare feat to have a midnight waltz..." Spinning around infront of her, his massive wings spread out into the night as he tugged at her own wings with his maw before releasing them as he became airborn. Soaring through the night skies, he led the dragoness to the lake where the stars danced upon the placid surface...their dancefloor. Dropping a hoof down to skim the water's surface, he began to soar in large circles...hoping his partner would get the idea and play along.

"You already make me quiver in excitement...yet first I need to see if your hunting grace can be tested in a aerial display, then you can let me drool over your hunting form..." He smirked in her direction, gliding along like a shadow over the lake...his eyes separating him from the darkness of the night.

What had gotten into him? Usually by now he at least began to tire of a mare's company, either set the stage to run her off, kill her off or simply leave himself if she was the kind to not get the hint. However...she was different. Her words left him craving more, their playful banter exciting and her mere presense thrilling. He was beginning to believe he stayed for the company rather than the information he desired from her...and that scared the s**t out of him. If she didn't indulge him a little more...he wasn't sure what the best course of action would be...do he leave, to try again another day? Or do what he came to and get that information he craved at any cost?

...was he really prepared to see what he'd have to risk in order to get it from her?

As he led her to dazzling dance floor, she played along with him, winging in through the air graceful as any Wind Soquili, the breed known to have the best aerial acrobatics. But here... with Lon, and herself, there was only them, and yet it was more than that... Iolanthe found she was scared--for once in her life, scared!--to find out what was happening. Stallions... they were only supposed to be prey; they were only supposed to be her playthings... but not with Lon. No... he was more than her prey now... it terrified her, to find that he was becoming more than just a random stranger she met this night. But... she decided she would list him under "favorite plaything" for the time being. She wasn't leaving him alone... and she was certain Lon wouldn't leave her alone either... In fact, she had a feeling that they both were coming to a frightening conclusion neither one of them wanted to acknowledge...

Was she ready to take on this new challenge, she wondered. She glanced at her dancing partner, as they both circled the sparkling lake, dipping, gliding, twisting, and turning...

A single pause allowed her to take a quick, decisive breath. Yes, she was more than happy to take on this new challenge... not only was it interesting, but for some reason it kept her attention. And anyway, Lon was already under her list of "favorite prey"... and she never let go of her favorites--ever. Not staring was hard to do as she shifted her glance back and forth between where she was going and back at the magnificent stallion across from her. He was so well-built... and as she had mentioned before, incredibly delectable... she swore her ears rung with excitement as they danced together in the air. Literally. She had, truthfully, never done this before... but it was... well, what other word best described it but... amazing?

...Drat that Lon, he was turning her slowly into a--no, no, she mustn't think that far. It was hardly like that at all. A friend, perhaps, certainly a favorite prey... but that? No. Not that soon. Too soon. Far too early. Tossing such an ugly thought aside, she returned her full attention to reality, preferring to focus on the here and now over dwelling over useless facts that weren't even facts yet! "Until you get a taste...? And, pray tell, what taste are you after, my dear Lord of Nightmares...?" she teased again, circling the air with him. "You shall more than drool with me, my delicious stallion," she purred, swooping closer to Lon's ever looming form. "You'll find that you can't even take your eyes off of me..." She swooped away, laughing somewhat delightedly at their game. It was far too much fun!

It was strange; normally, by this point, either she had killed the stallion or left the stallion to quiver in fear by this point... but... again, Lon was different. So different... She could see the word practically hanging in the air over his head; different... He was more than a companion, she knew. They had started off wary, moved on to being somewhat joking... and then... suddenly, they seemed so close together, but yet very distant. How was it possible? She couldn't even wrap her mind around it! Well, no matter; if it was dragon knowledge he sought, he'd have to work hard to get it out of her. She kept her mouth shut rather well, after all...

...But, the question, was whether she was willing to even keep it a secret at all...?

"Lon..." she whispered the name under her breath to herself. Lord of Nightmares. He was a curiosity within a curiosity... making her think things she never would have dreamed to think of before... or even consider other things... Her eyes strayed over his powerful form. Such strength... and yet... he could also be gentle... how odd...

As the large stallion dwelled deeper into his thoughts and possibilities, he found himself at a new crossroad. In all honestly, he was getting exactly what he had been seeking out this dark eve, life...experiences, emotion, the rush of spontanuity and companionship. It was everything he envied from his earthly counterparts, something he'd often reached out to feel and learn yet was stuck at his post. Literally he'd longed for eons for this exact waltz....the waltz that everything on this planet took advantage of at one point or another in their lives. Life....so precious....it was his number one priority. Angling his wings at a sharp turn, he whirled around and began to soar towards Iolanthe...wings flapping to pick up his speed.

What taste are you after, my dear Lord of Nightmares...? Her voice rang through his mind, time after time as he searched desperately for the answer. His curiosities about her dragonic heritage had become an after thought compared to what she would do next, each word left him hanging and it became more difficult to hide it the longer he stayed in her presense. Golden orbs like harvest moons against his black frame only had intrest in her raw, albeit feminine power. How she was able to wing along the low currents above the lake like she was but a dainty Wind soquili...her scales moving along with each muscle she exerted. If he was to take his eyes off her it was only to make sure he didn't hit anything, or to avoid him 'staring' at her. Not only was he interested in a mere taste of knowledge...he was starved for all she could give him...her history...experience...hunting alone would have been enough to make him her personal stalker. Yet this sense of...companionship seemed to trump everything he'd come to want, and turn it into the primary need.

Besides, having an ally and friend in Iolanthe was simply another level in the game, or so he kept trying to convince himself otherwise. It had never been in his master plan to consider instinct and hormones into his living experience.

"Perhaps you'll figure it out in a while...you're a smart mare, Iolanthe. In the meantime...I can't take my eyes, or myself off of you!" He shouted, mischeif thick in his sultry tone.

Usually at this point in flight he would have veered off into another direction but instead he flared his wings out into the night to slow his speed before without further notice, crashed into the mare sending them topping wing over hoof into the waters below. With a might splash he sunk into the dark depths, before folding his wings into his body and kicking his way back to the surface. Once he surfaced and tossed the wet locks of ebony from his face, his eyes immediately searched for the dragon-kin mare. The question was...did dragons like water?

He pondered in the few moments before she would arise if she would indeed be pissed that he'd pull such a stunt like that. Although he was charting into new territory with this strange meeting he still found himself resorting to old habits of simply poking the fire as a wonderful distraction. Last thing he needed as her noticing the hesitancy in his eyes, full of questions and concerns.

She admitted she was very shocked as Lon suddenly crashed into her, sending them both flying into the lake with a very big, very loud splash! As she sunk into the water, she forced herself to calm her rapidly beating heart. Good thing the lake's dark depths barely reflected the moonlight; she was hiding a blush that had come just as Lon had crashed into her. I can't take my eyes, or myself off of you! His words resounded in her head over and over; the repetition making her entire body quiver with an unknown feeling. Realizing she was taking longer than most Soquili would acknowledge as sane under the water, she kicked, surfacing and gasping loudly for breath. Being a fire-breather, it was dangerous for her to open her mouth, and because of this, she had learned to hold her breath much longer than was the usual for Soquili in general.

Still, though, the water felt gentle against her back, her wings somewhat helping her to float, though the membranes of her inner folds were soaked deep; so, if she didn't get out soon, she'd get dragged down to the bottom of the lake... and drown. She definitely didn't like the sound of that idea. As she shook her head free of excess water, she opened her pale eyes to instantly lock with Lon's soft golden orbs. He's only prey! Her inner self screamed. He's nothing more than a one night stand... don't fall... don't fall! She broke her gaze from him, ignoring her inner self as a fangy smirk played on her lips. "Your eyes, or yourself, hm...? Did that include throwing me in the water, too?" She started to swim closer to him, since he was closer to shore. As she came close, she slid her tail slowly around his foreleg, smiling almost sweetly, but still sensually. "Lon, what, exactly, was the meaning of knocking us into the water?"

A dramatic sigh escaped her lips as she brought her head closer, her lips nearly touching his as she lifted her head. They were but a breath apart... she was teasing him very badly, she knew. "I don't think you're quite after the glitter of my scales, now are you...?" She moved her tail slowly along his leg before suddenly pulling away, heading for the shore. No, she wasn't angry--which in itself was odd; she should have been infuriated; in fact, if any other stallion had done this to her she probably would have destroyed him while laughing with glee as he suffered among her flames--but Lon... for some reason, she just could not get angry. Well, perhaps for his sake she ought to show a little more anger... but the way she responded was so much more fun. Of course, it had been tempting to close that small, small gap between their lips... she nearly licked her lips, and then thought better of it, a mischievous smirk belying what she thought.

As she got to shore, she turned, slowly licking her lips, winking at him playfully. "Do you like the water that much? I'm fine with it when I need to bathe, but really, swimming around at night wasn't my idea of a pleasant, leisure dance, my dear Lord of Nightmares." She knew what he was after now; it was more than just pursuit of her heritage... but she could see she had caught him in her game... but likewise, he had trapped her within his. What have you done to me, Lord of Nightmares...? She glanced up at the sky, then returned her gaze to the dark stallion before her, settling his image within her mind. No, she wouldn't be forgetting him any time soon, that was certain! ...It wasn't so bad, finding a friend--an ally, a companion--in Lon, she decided. He probably could entertain her during those nights when being lonely became too much too bear; she wasn't close with her family nor did she hate them; but being what they were--dragon-kalona--they could not quite love, but they did not quite hate, either. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, Iolanthe's father Spyro had good within him, whereas Cynder, her mother, had evil. Such was a mixture, but Spyro tended to enjoy playing tricks as opposed to anything else. How they got together was unknown to her, but well, she'd think on that later... right here, right now, it was her, and this stallion, and these mysterious, swirling feelings.

"I do have to agree with you on one thing, Lon--I can't take my own eyes off of you..." she spoke with yet still the same sultry voice, practically a purr, a small half-smile, half-smirk thrown in his direction.
