~This takes place in the world of Ioron, on the continent of Lavande. Unlike Avaria, this place is more like old-timey England and Ireland with the forests, old-fashioned areas, parks etc..~
~Summary~ After saving his brother (X- your character) from some dirty dealers, Lexallius is framed and hung for the murder of a man and the brutalization and murder of another woman. His brother seeks the aid of a wizard named Clessyn but his spell seems to fail to bring X's brother back to life..meanwhile, Lexallius's lover (Y-your other character) has fallen in love with the man who framed Lexallius. Although..the spell didn't fail. Lexallius's soul resides in a puppet made by Y years earlier as a present for Lex..and when Y picks him up and plays with his strings..Lex comes to life.
~Prestory~After Marquis Lexallius Mavrelle's, aged nineteen, younger brother X (your character, give him a name), aged seventeen, decides to disobey his older brother (who acts often as a father to his younger brother since they're orphans) he sneaks out and finds himself in a bet gone sour and is nearly killed until Lex tracks X down and manages to save him. But X foolishly grabs Lex's pistol from his pocket, thinking to threaten the men and he shoots one instead, killing him. Lex takes X and runs, determined to get his brother away. The place was a tavern and home to women of questionable morals. She saw and was killed by the remaining man who was an earl after being brutalized, and thus his claim was heeded that Lex murdered the man and the woman after abusing her. They have 'proof', since X used Lex's pistol and it was left behind. It would be his word against the earl's, but the proof is against Lex and the system is a poor one anyway. Lex is found guilty and refuses to let X tell the truth, lest he be hung. He promises X that he'll settle things and the distraught, guilt-ridden X is sent to the country side to be with an aunt. Before he leaves, Lex gives him the family amulet, an heirloom with a silver moon with a tiger's eye stone in the center.
Lex tells him to take care of it and how proud he is of his brother..how much he loves him.. After all, despite their squabbles, they loved each other..although for the past year, X had been doing his part to distance himself from his brother, taking Lex's affections as trying to control X. And that's when X realizes Lex lied about things turning out all right and tries to stop his brother, because even if he hadn't shown it, his older brother is his hero. But his brother uses the hilt of his sword to knock X out, sending him away to the aunt's. Lex wants to say goodbye to Y (your other character, give him a name) a childhood friend who would became his lover and in all likelihood, might have been his partner (being gay isn't frowned upon as long as one produces an heir on the side) ..it was expected, he was from a good family and wealthy. Lex had to confess to the murders, and he did so with flourish so as to keep suspicion from his brother. So Y refuses to see him even though it's breaking her heart..Lex is a murderer after all..(or so she is pressured by her family and peers into believing..he admitted it after all) and so Lex wrote Y a letter of lies, claiming that he never loved Y and only pretended for a diversion. This was his way of making his death easier for Y to bear..even though it broke his heart to do it.
The next night, Lex is hung in the square for all the people to see, making X the new Marquis of Allenmore. He had woken by then and tried to head back..but by the time he'd arrived..it was too late and he had to see his brother's body hanging from the gallows before being taken by his cousin Amara, (who he'd been with) away. ~Time skip~ Two years later, X is now the nineteen year old Marquis, intelligent and witty, an excellent catch. He's avoided scandal and is a much desired bachelor..but despite his happy appearance, he still bears the guilt of his brother's death and knows that Lex died to save X even after how much of a brat he'd been..He tried to do something about it..he went to a wizard man named Clessyn, a powerful wizard who lived within the forest..few people knew of him but it's said he can undo death. Clessyn cast a spell for X who to his disappoint found his brother still not alive, and Clessyn nowhere to be found..what he doesn't know was that the spell worked..sort of.
A puppet made to look exactly like Lex lays in a box in Y's bedroom closet, it's been there for the past two years. He had made it for Lex's fifteenth birthday with his uncle's help. Y misses Lex, Y was in love with him after all, but Y has long been convinced that Lex was the murderer..and meanwhile the Earl of Tarnwend, the one who framed him, a handsome fellow of twenty-four years is the suitor of twenty-one year old Y. Y now fancies himself in love with the earl and has managed to push loving thoughts of Lex aside..filling bitterness instead at having filled his heart with love only to turn out a murderer who'd left Y to face the world and scandal alone. But one day..Y sees the box. He'd forgotten it and with nostalgia in his heart, he takes the puppet from the box and holds him by the control part of the strings (the wooden thing you hold) and murmurs his name (Lexallius-since he's fashioned after Lex). The puppet grows then, a replica of Lex before he died..although still a puppet..and quite alive.

~Important Information~
The story will start with Lex coming to X's rescue, we'll play out that scene and the scene of Y refusing to see Lex. I'll make the post about him being hung, X will see and then visit Clessyn that night (he'll be X's lover eventually by the way) the spell will have failed..and then we'll flash to two years in the future. I'll use Amara (X's cousin) to interact with X, and Y meanwhile will have just found the box and start playing with it..bringing Lex 'to life'. Obviously the brother's will reunite sometime after that, it's a secret of course, and Clessyn will be back soon after as well to explain things.
In the meanwhile, Lex looks like he did before he died, but he's made of wood and is something of a living, life-sized puppet. Anyone holding onto the wooden controller of his strings can make him obey any command, even to become the little puppet again or cease moving. Also, if he gets upset or frightened, or too angry, he'll revert to little puppet form unless someone speaks his name with 'want'. (basically wants him big again etc..) ~
